For any of you that know me, I love a good yarn. One the of the best things about my job is getting out and about with local people, sharing the knowledge I have about bees, the environment, produce, gardening and healthy living.
And I have lots of experience getting on my soapbox! For years now, I have been a representative at local and international conferences. I have appeared on popular TV and radio programs (including The Project, ABC radio, Network Ten News, and Channel Nine’s reality show, Dream Job). I have launched educational programs and am excited to launch my new podcast! -

Being a pet parent is one of the greatest joy in life, but it's also bloody hard and a big responsibility. Pets come with no manuals, user-guides or playbooks and they can't talk...now that's pressure!
That's why we created A Modern Animal - to give you practical information to help you look after your beloved pets and give them their best and healthiest lives.
Every month, our co-hosts and dynamic duo, Gabriel Perera (the Dog Dad ) and Dr. Mike Woodrow (the Aussie Vet), are joined by an expert guest to discuss everything and anything a modern animal parent would want to know with a key focus on health.
No B.S, no patronising statements, no dumbing down of information... just knowledge and facts from super bright pet enthusiasts in a fun and easy to digest format.
We hope you can tune in and get value from it.

Sound Machines designed specifically to help keep dogs calm through your long days away from home (separation anxiety), thunderstorms, noisy neighbors, fireworks, and other unwanted noises. They are also great just for helping them sleep through the night! Many of the Sound Machines are targeted at masking unwanted noise, but others feature calming sounds to help reduce their anxiety. Try a few and see what your four-legged friends respond best to! Dogs love these, but they can work wonders for cats, birds, and other pets as well!

If you've spent any length of time around horses you may have realized that horses have just as much, if not more to teach us, as we have to teach them. And many of those lessons go beyond our horse work and into our life outside of horses. This podcast will explore the mental and emotional side of working with horses as well as lessons learned from horses that apply to life in general, self improvement, handling emotions, and improving mental health.
