Everything from a PA man dressing like Ghostface and killing his neighbor with a chainsaw, possible urban legends or not from Jarred's home town of vigilante sword murder and a double decapitation, a personal family story of Matt's involving finding a murdered body, and a funny crime story of Kyle's involving his grandma and an at the time illegal plant. All that and more on this week's episode!

  • This week the boys put are back to talking about not great Horror Films but this time Kyle and Matt refused to let Jarred call it bad so introducing this newest subcategory of the Horror So [Blank] it's [Blank] Series with Horror So Mid it's Meh. This week the guys talk about the 1999 Tim Burton film Sleepy Hollow with Johnny Depp, Christina Ricci, and a whole bunch of popular and great actors from Harry Potter, Star Wars, and Batman. What happens when you try to Tim Burtonize the classic tale of Ichabod Crane and the Headless Horseman well you get a pretty underwhelming film, with a lot of unnecessary plot lines, weird character choices, and Casper Van Dien saying just enough lines. Hear all about it on this week's episode.

  • This week the boys put on spin on everyone's favorite Horror Movie Commentary Segment instead of watching and discussing a Horror Movie So Bad It's Good, the guys actually watch a movie that Kyle and Matt had seen and liked, and Jarred...actually wanted to see! This week the guys watch and react to an actual Good Horror film, in this spin on the HSBIG series with Horror So Good...It's Great!

  • This week the boys return to everyone's favorite movie discussion segment Horror So Bad It's Good. This week Kyle and Matt introduce Jarred to a movie that has a very special nostalgic place in their hearts: Dead and Breakfast. This early 2000s Comedy Musical Fantasy Horror kind of Zombie flick, starring a surprising amount of famous people and at least a handful of highly recognizable people. On the way to a wedding, a group of friends stops in Lovelock TX after getting lost and taking too many drugs. They spend the night in a Bed and Breakfast only to awaken to find the chef murdered and the owner dead of a heart attack. At a breakneck speed, the town is taken over by a Zombie-esque horde run by a Kuman Thong attempting to kill the group. This 00's gore fest is filled with tons of slapstick humor, dad jokes, character tropes, and a solid amount of really catchy musical numbers. Find out what the guys think now that they're older and in a clear state of mind.

  • The Dark Rum Podcast where we discuss Monsters, Myths & Mayhem. Kyle, Matt & Jarred are talking about the history of Spirit Photography. From its early beginnings, some of the sorted characters who used the perfect mixture of grief and technological ignorance to convince people they captured the image of the dearly departed, modern-day ghost hunters using spirit photography for our entertainment, and the new craze of spirit photography that has arisen with the development of all the new AI filters. All this and more on this week's episode.

  • The Dark Rum Podcast where we discuss Monsters, Myths & Mayhem. This week the guys unanimously decided that it was movie day! The return of everyone's favorite horror review series Horror So Bad It's Good. This week the terrible horror film that the boys will be watching and determining if it is really so bad it's doubled all the way back around to good is Hellraiser: Hellworld. A movie that felt so detached from the Hellraiser movies that it felt like it wasn't written as one, and it turns out it wasn't! So enjoy the guys trying to recount and discuss this horrible horror film filled with a surprising amount of actual Stars like Henry Cavill, Khary Payton, Katheryn Winnick, and Lance Henrickson. Get ready to hear the guys discuss this failed attempt at a Meta-Horror with a slight Cerebral twist and copious amounts of Hellraiser Lore forcefully injected into every inch of this movie unnecessarily.

  • The Dark Rum Podcast where we discuss Monsters, Myths & Mayhem. Kyle, Matt & Jarred are back deep diving into more dark history and lore of a well-known cryptid: This week...Banshees. The guys go over the folklore surrounding this possibly fae, maybe an owl, but definitely an omen of death. The guys breakdown how these often misrepresented creatures though associated with death may not be as scary as they are often portrayed...unless they are being scary and dangerous in which case give them back their hairbrush. All this and more on this week's episode.

  • The Dark Rum Podcast where we discuss Monsters, Myths & Mayhem. This week Matt is indisposed so like a substitute teacher day in grade school, that TV gets rolled in and Kyle and Jarred have a movie day! The return of everyone's favorite horror review series Horror So Bad It's Good. This week the terrible horror film that the boys will be watching and determining if it is really so bad it's doubled all the way back around to good is: Sleep Away Camp 2. The sequel to the camp-based killer cult classic; Angela is back and this time she actually talks more, has fun, and is really, really into the rules...so much so she's willing to kill to make this year at camp the best ever. The guys try to follow the plot, highlight the kills, and comment on how problematic this movie series might be in the modern day and age. • The Dark Rum Podcast where we discuss Monsters, Myths & Mayhem. Kyle, Matt, and Jarred discuss: Colorado's Massive Cryptid The "Slide Rock Bolter". This whale-sized Cryptid is said to be responsible for the destruction of an entire town. Surviving on a diet of predominantly tourists, and having nothing to do with the dangers of unregulated capitalism, strip mining, and deforestation; this giant mucousy fellow hangs out on mountain tops and just slides on down to devour everything in its path, especially tourists! It is the apex predator of the area above wolves (this includes Spider Wolves and Over Wolves...apparently we need episodes about those next) and Frenchmen because why wouldn't they be apex predators. Find out everything about this physics-defying land whale in this weeks episode! The guys talk about all of this and much more in this week's episode!

  • The Dark Rum Podcast where we discuss Monsters, Myths, & Mayhem. The Boys are back in 2024 with a brand-new completely unannounced season of Dark Rum. Like seems to happen every year the boys ended their previous season even though they don't have seasons and now they're back, and what better way to celebrate the return than with a return to everyone's favorite Bad Horror commentary series Horror So Bad It's Good; this time in the spirit of the holidays the boys watched "Silent Night" the 2012 loose remake of the 1984 controversial cult classic "Silent Night Deadly Night". This holiday movie is chocked full of a Killer Santa doing Killer Santa stuff, a handful of recognizable actors, terrible dialogue delivered terribly, no magic even though there were a few hints for no reason, pervy priest, Douchey Santa, Frank the Softcore Porn Guy, other Evil B-Plot Santa, and so many lens flares you normal-eyed people will finally understand the plight of those with an astigmatism! This was a bad one but you know what they say start the year off bad so there's no where to go but up! • The Dark Rum Podcast where we discuss Monsters, Myths, & Mayhem. It's Halloween, the one day a year when everyone is on board for spooky so the boys decided to double down on the spookiness. On today's show, we are joined by Rev Dan Todd, founder of New Jersey Ghost Detectives, member of the Sacred Order of St. Michael Order of Exorcists, and Chief Pastor of St. Benedict Anglican Church; to talk about his experiences with the Supernatural and giving the guys new insight into dealing with Demons and what it's like and what goes into Exorcisms. The boys also received some spooky story submissions from some fellow podcasters: Rein and Luna of the Spookynatural Podcast and Tatiana of the Talk Yo Ishh Podcast. • The Dark Rum Podcast where we discuss Monsters, Myths, & Mayhem. The Boys needed a nice relaxed day so they are back to discuss another horror film so bad it's actually pretty good. This time they are leaving the realm of campy 80's and 90's horror films and take a look at the brand new 2023 Slasher flick with a Time Travel Twist "Totally Killer". The guys went into this one with high hopes after a strong trailer but in the end they were left feeling very little for the movie while at the same time enjoying the watch. One of the more conflicting movies of the series; a cast of strong actors playing their parts well (but we didn't care about any of them), a fun twist on time travel and the slasher genre (but it made little to no sense), and tons of solid comedy (that sometimes felt really out of place). All in all I think this one might fall under the umbrella of "Horror So Bad It's Ok".(Also Kiernan Shipka, Jarred is expecting you at his party this year since you kept visiting it in this movie and didn't wish him a Happy Birthday once. So we'll see you there.) • The Dark Rum Podcast where we discuss Monsters, Myths, & Mayhem. Kyle is out so Matt and everyone's favorite research refuser Jarred are back to break down another movie that's so bad it's good???? This week the guys breakdown a movie that on paper should have been at least ok, a horror sci-fi flick that is equal parts alien and zombies in space, with a cast of relative unknowns aside from Thomas Jayne and Bruce freaking Willis, a movie so mysterious that it is honestly impossible to find its budget anywhere, a movie that was so mishandled that they released it in the height of the pandemic to a whooping box office pull of less than $40k. That's right we're talking the 2020 complete horror/sci-fi flop that was Breach (or Anti-Life), a movie so bad it made us rethink how harsh we were on previous movies, a movie so bad it's ranked in the bottom 100 movies of all time, a movie so bad we couldn't tell if the big name actors in it were either: drunk, suffering from health issues, or court-mandated to be in the movie; a horror/sci-fi film so bad it's good? No, but it's funny to hear us discuss it.
