Four months ago, Dr. Saifedean Ammous published the most succinct apology for Bitcoin as a viable alternative to state-issued fiat currency in his book “The Bitcoin Standard,” (https://www.amazon.com/Bitcoin-Standard-Decentralized-Alternative-Central/dp/1119473861/) which also serves as a de fact apology for the perennially controversial idea known as Bitcoin Maximalism. Regardless of your opinions on cryptocurrency, Dr. Ammous' thoughts are well worth hearing.
Dr. Ammous, when he’s not being interviewed or tweeted at, is an assistant professor of economics at the Lebanese American University, a prolific researcher and writer, as per his papers available on SSRN, and a world-class grill-master.

Bitcoin Magazine’s Aaron van Wirdum called the Lightning Network “probably the most highly anticipated technological innovation to be deployed on top of Bitcoin.” As the number of mainnet nodes and active channels continues to grow, his description seems accurate.
One of the coolest projects built on Lightning is the Zap wallet, created by Jack Mallers. For this coin pod, Jack joins me to discuss the dynamics of Lightning, his thoughts on software development, and the motivations behind creating Zap. We packed a lot of great content into a short episode, so enjoy.
After listening, follow Jack on Twitter (https://twitter.com/JackMallers) and his project Zap, too (https://twitter.com/ln_zap).
