This interview is with Danny Arnold, CEO, founder, and head trainer of You Fit Life, a personal health and fitness facility in S.W. Calgary, Alberta. Danny is a graduate of the Exercise Science Program at Lethbridge College. He also has his designation as a personal trainer from the Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology known as C.S.E.P.
We start this interview with Danny explaining growing up in Claresholm. We covered his high school years where he admitted that he was not excelling academically leaving him a little uncertain. With some guidance, he discovered the Exercise Science Program at Lethbridge College. As he explains the program was more hands-on which for him was a good fit. We do go over the similarities and differences between this program and a kinesiology program at a university. We go over his experience acquiring the designation to be a personal trainer. This interview is with Murray Emery, owner and head recording engineer of “Crooks Hollow Studio” in Calgary Alberta, Canada. Also, he is an accomplished musician and the founding member of the rock band “Prisoner”. Murray is a graduate of the Broadcast System Technologies program at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology known as SAIT. He is also a graduate of the Ontario Institute of Audio Recording Technology program referred to as OIART.
This interview starts with Murray describing growing up and his experiences working for his dad’s construction company. He emphasizes that this experience from working at a young age enabled him to develop his discipline, work ethic, and interpersonal skills that have led him to prosper. He talks about how he grew his interest in music and in doing so, established his skills as a musician.
Knowing this, we talked about how he wanted to pursue music as a career. Understanding that this is not a stable career choice, Murray explains how he researched all possible avenues that would enable him to build a more stable career in this industry. Upon graduating we delve into his journey as a musician including starting his band “Prisoner”. This led to a conversation on his travels to Los Angeles, New York, and Nashville where he furthered his understanding of the ins and outs of the music industry. This interview is with Andy Read a man of many talents. This is an amazing story that deals with self-discovery leading to transformation which results in Andy living an amazing life.
The interview starts with Andy growing up in England and joining the military at the age of 19. He gives a very detailed description of his experiences within the force which lasted 9 years. In leaving the army, he describes how he and his family adjusted to civilian life. This is an eye-opener as the transformation was not easy.
With the skills he acquired from the military, we talk about his first employment opportunity outside the military which was at the Welding Institute in Cambridge, England. Also, at this time he describes the process it took to establish immigrant status that would enable him and his family to move to Canada.

Andy spent three years in this position as he describes to the one day where he was being laid off. In doing so he became self-employed doing contract work within the same area. Being at a low point he then describes his turning point in life and how he discovered and developed his faith. Tom Huntington refers to himself as an “Adult in Training” and, in listening to this podcast the audience will appreciate where he is coming from. In addition to being a retired attorney, Tom considers himself to be a human nature science geek. He is very interested in how the brain and mind work and what motivates us. This is evident throughout this interview as there is a lot of self-reflection which is vital to all of us.
Tom takes the listener through his life coming from a privileged family setting, attending boarding school, and receiving a scholarship to some very prestigious universities. With a so-called “perfect life” set up for him, he attends Standford and describes what that was like and what transpired.
As the title suggests he is an adult in training and with that he is questioning his life and the choices he is making. As he describes, he leaves Stanford and joins the Peace Corps which sends him off to India to work as a farm aid. This part of the interview will inform the listener of what it is like to work and live in a third-world country as Tom provides a vivid picture of his experiences. His involvement with the Peace Crops is also talked about as well. It is worth noting that this is all taking place in the mid-60s as The Peace Crops was in its infancy and the issues that came with such a start-up are also discussed.
As his tenure closes with this venture, he moves back to the United States which is in the late 60s. He openly talks about the culture shock he faced leaving a third-world country and re-entering a modern society. More importantly, he talks about how he adjusted to this change, and how he dealt with the uncertainty of the political and social turmoil of that time.
In doing so he continues his life adventure by moving to Hawaii and after several years coming back to the mainland where he attends law school in San Diego. He provides his definition of how he settled when he was working as an attorney. Which then motivated him to do more self-exploration as he described.
This fun, entertaining, and enlightening interview may leave the listener thinking about their life choices. He also has several certifications and licenses (15 in total) in Occupational Health and Safety. He is a keynote speaker and published author of the best-selling book “The Power to Speak Naked”. He is a business owner of Total Buy-In which is a conglomeration of all his entrepreneurial ventures.
In this interview, Tyler talks about how he got into performing on stage and in film. He illustrates his experience in attending a fine arts school in Okotoks, Alberta. He outlines his venture as he headed out to Vancouver to be a part of the film industry. He describes how films and his other interests took him traveling finally landing back in Calgary where he attended S.A.I.T in the geomatics engineering program.
He talks about the program at S.A.I.T and geomatics in general and how technology has changed this field. He relates his experiences working at “Triathlon Mapping” a family firm and starting his own business with his mentor. He exposes himself on how he dealt with the misfortune of his business partner’s surprising death; this is personal and professional and a real eye-opener.

In this episode, Shanil takes us through his earlier years. He reflects on when he and his family immigrated from Saudi Arabia landing in the Toronto area. He talks about how he adjusted and overcame some trials and tribulations that he had encountered.

This is part three of a three-part interview with Gino Arcaro. Gino is a former police officer, detective, educator, business owner, author, and strength and football coach. Gino has a Bachelor’s degree of Science from Empire State College New York; a Master’s degree in Education from Brock University Ontario; a Basic Recruit Diploma from Ontario Police College; a Criminal Investigation Diploma from Ontario Police College; a Homicide Investigation and Forensic Science Certificate from the Center of Forensic Science Toronto; a National Coaching Certification Program Level 3 and a College Teaching Certificate from the Ontario College Association.
In this interview, Gino outlines the experiences he had teaching and revamping the police foundation program at Niagara College. This leads to the discussion for people that are interested in policing and the options in approaching this type of career, in essence how to build a resume for this line of work is further discussed. Skills and competencies required for this field are further outlined in more detail as well which are furnished with Gino’s examples of working on the force.
Career change is discussed as to how Gino made the transition from policing to teaching.
