2024 has been a surreal year for DP World Tour rookie, Joe Dean. Joe turned pro in 2015 and played mini tours for a few years, when COVID hit he decided to get a job in Morrison's to support his on course earnings as a delivery driver.
Joe went on to earn his DP World Tour card for the 2024 season and in his 2nd start, Joe finished in 2nd place and earned himself over €199,000 and he hasn't been back to the day job since!
Joe has a fantastic outlook on golf and life as he maintains he hasn't changed who he is event after this life changing year. With his tour card secure for 2025 and currently sitting in 29th on the Race To Dubai, Joe heads to Abu Dhabi and Dubai for the final two events of the season.
This was a great conversation and really shows what is important to Joe and how money doesn't change who you are, no matter the life changing amount.

iGolf has arrived in Ireland and we discuss whether we think it is good or bad and what golf clubs could do to embrace iGolf rather than fight it. We also look at why people wouldn't take up memberships in a golf club if they have access to this iGolf scheme.
Already over 500 people have signed up for iGolf in Ireland. There are concerns from golf clubs, particularly in rural areas, that the new iGolf initiative will have a detrimental effect on clubs’ ability to attract members from the intermediate age group leading to a potential age gap that could have a negative impact into the future.
Golf Ireland launched its independent golfer programme — iGolf — last week, meaning that you no longer have to be a member of a golf club to obtain a handicap.
For the first time, non-club members in Ireland can subscribe to iGolf and gain a Handicap Index under the World Handicap System for an annual subscription fee of €65 in the Republic of Ireland and £55 in Northern Ireland.
The scheme has also been used England, Scotland, Wales and New Zealand for several years with significant success in encouraging increased participation and ultimately transitioning many independent golfers into club membership.

Rory comes up agonisingly close to winning AGAIN on the DP World Tour but Billy Horschell comes out on top and to be fair he's a great winner.
The lads watched the LIV Golf Team Championships and it was such a disappointment. The concept was good until the Finals and then it was so dull because it switched back to strokeplay.

Jonny and Michael catch up to talk about how Rory's season has been a collection of near misses, and that includes 3 wins!
The Presidents Cup is next week and we're both firmly in the International Team camp.
Leona Maguire got benched for the Solheim Cup but we don't think that made much difference to the outcome, the USA were always going to win this.
