Well, Barcelona have waved bye bye to the treble. But I DON’T think that it matters.
Did they make too many mistakes? ✅
Did they fail – CATASTROPHICALLY – to defend a 3-2 lead? ✅
But should they hang their heads in shame? ❌❌❌❌❌
There’s still a double for Hansi Flick to play for – and MANY positives to take from defeat at the San Siro. Socios: grab a brew, a…

Hansi Flick isn’t worrying about double-marking on Lamine Yamal, or Inter Milan’s clockwork 3-5-2 that they could play in their sleep. He just wants his team to have fun.
Have fun?? FUN?! In a Champions League semi?? Has he gone MAD?!!
I think Barcelona’s boss MIGHT have been tucking into the CBD gummies ahead of his press conference. But, as his inexperienced whizz-kids prepare to face a team BUILT to win this tournament, has he had the right idea?
If it’s anywhere near as exciting as the first leg, we might all need a visit to the happy world of Haribo Hansi…
Socios: as ever, I’ll be back at full-time for our usual chat. Stay tuned….

May 1, 2005. An indelible moment.
Ronaldinho to Messi. History. The start of a journey that changed football and made the lives of all of us who love this game that bit richer.
May 1, 2025. Lamine Yamal is still a month younger than Messi was when he piggybacked on Ronaldinho in celebration of that goal. And he has won the Euro, the Copa del Rey… hell, he’s chasing a treble, not as a bit-part player but a leading man/boy.
This is me on Leo and Lamine.
He’s not Messi mark II. But he’s a bona fide footballing genius.
What do you think?

I’ve seen a few games in my time – this one MIGHT JUST have been the BEST!
Inter were brilliant, fighting right until the end for a win away from home. They could have DEVOURED Barcelona, but for a sensational 17 year old wearing Blaugrana colours.
Socios! We’ve got a LOT to talk about. Join me backstage….

Spain’s football season has reached BOILING POINT! A league Clásico to come – but first, a winner-takes-all BATTLE for the Copa.
But Barça’s bench is depleted by injuries. And Hansi Flick’s men have Inter to worry about too. Can Ancelotti SAVE HIS SKIN (and avoid CHAOS in Madrid) at La Cartuja??
Here’s what Pete and I think….

Carlo Ancelotti is STRUGGLING: that’s not news.
But, as the sharks circle Real Madrid’s manager, there’s been a BOMBSHELL ANNOUNCEMENT from Bayer Leverkusen’s CEO, that will leave Florentino Pérez with some SERIOUS THINKING to do.
Socios! Pete and I sat down to discuss the future of Los Blancos’ throne. But what do YOU think? Carlo, or Xabi? Or somebody …

Did we just watch Carlo Ancelotti’s FINAL MATCH with Real Madrid in the Champions League?! I really hope not. The competition’s most successful manager CANNOT bow out like that.
But, Real have a LOT to learn. Martinelli and Saka tracked back FAR more than Rodrygo or Vinicius did – and Kylian Mbappé MUST take note of Mikel Merino’s industry and work ethic.

Barry Ferguson will no doubt be worried about Athletic Club’s resurgence, after they BREEZED past Rayo on Matchday 31. Sancet is back, Nico is back – Rangers fans are in for a barnstormer on Thursday.
Elsewhere, the title race is heating up. Real saw the red mist (and the card), while Barça squeaked past Leganés thanks to an unlikely hero….

An INTENSE 90 minutes – but Barcelona were able to cruise through.
It’s been six seasons since their humiliation at Anfield, but Barça are finally back in the driving seat. With Raphina on cruise control and Lewandowski firing, the Blaugrana are on a collision course with European glory.
Socios! Here’s how it happened….

10 years ago, Madrid beat Liverpool in the battle for Martin Ødegaard, but Carlo Ancelotti called the signing 'a publicity stunt'. He’s already returned to haunt them once while on loan at Real Sociedad. Will Arsenal’s No.8 use his past frustrations as fuel when the European champions visit North London tonight?

This week, I focus on two teams who will play in the UK this week. Athletic Club got a 0-0 that helps their season-long aims and welcomed back their top gun - but their best player is way off the pace. The champions, meanwhile, had a shocker. But in the Champions League? It’s usually a different Madrid.

I’m including in this video a clip from a post-match interview with Jan Oblak after Atlético Madrid’s latest La Liga disaster, a 1-1 draw against Espanyol. He sounds jaded, without answers and not much more hope of rescuing a campaign that has spiralled out of control.
Here’s what I think is at stake for this great club and the iconic head coach who has…

Fede Valverde is one of my favourite footballers - here’s a record of my day as I travelled to Madrid to interview him for UEFA. But before that… did you watch the Frying Pan Derby? It was red-hot and had all the ingredients for a classic, including a splash of Antony, whose life after Manchester United just seems to get better and better.

But their game against Osasuna did not have to be played this week, adding to a schedule that can on…

Poised at 2-2, the Nations League quarter-final between Spain and Netherlands is not lacking in drama or storylines as it concludes tomorrow (Sunday) in Valencia. I’ll be there, recording a matchday special for socios - paid subscribers to this channel.Join right now and you won't miss a thing.
Today, I’ll tell all of you about the added spice, the reason I think Ronald Koeman, the Netherlands coach, will be singled out for special treatment by the home crowd.
It’s a story that is 17 years old now, and involves Koeman’s role as a stooge for a dastardly president, and the mistreatment of three legends of this wonderful stadium.
