Who’s ready to laugh? 🫠
Last week a Bad Thing happened. But never fear! This week of healing started off strong with Lindy and Meagan heading to Portland for another sensational live show at the Patricia Reser Center for the Arts! And you simply cannot pull off a live comedy show without visiting the Pacific Northwest’s own Red Robin! YUM! Where are our Bonsai Burger heads at?
And it just keeps getting better! Lindy and Meagan are joined onstage by Emmy-award winning comedian and writer Guy Branum and Oregon Speaker of the House Julie Fahey! We play not one but TWO FMK-style games because our brains don’t work well enough to think of anything else! First, we punish those who we think are responsible for Tr*mp’s victory -- who is cursed with seeing Lyndon B. Johnson’s phantom hog every morning? Who gets listeria from unregulated Lean Cuisine? Then, we ask Speaker Fahey which state and local policies she would Eff, Marry, or Veto. Watch your back, sales tax!

Oh how sweet and innocent we were when we recorded this ep one whole week before Election Day! Oh to be doubled up on Zoloft on this day!
When we recorded this episode, we envisioned a world where it might be possible to ever feel comfortable and cozy again. That’s why we brought you our annual Cozy Recs, complete with eggnog (or milk-based alternatives), oversized hoodies, and the famous cozy game you know and love: SMDDRFFAD! Does that help?? Is coziness possible? In any event, we hope you enjoy the only show on air brave enough to encourage you to replace all your blood with the sand of a weighted blanket. We’re going to need a lot of sand.

And equally important to report: Lindy and Meagan make an iron-clad commitment. A promise to NOT laugh at the biffs, blunders, and incomprehensible nonsense spewing from Donald Trump. We’re calling it the No-Giggle Pledge, and the terms include donating to the Harris-Walz campaign each time they fail to hold to this democracy-enforcing covenant. Next on the docket are two compelling conspiracies. Lindy presents a theory that American Apparel’s chokehold on our country in the mid-aughts was merely a Nelson Mandela effect. Where did all those tube tops and ass shorts go?! And meanwhile, Meagan reaches the internet ice wall and is convinced that the bizarre ads she is delivered are nothing more than inscrutable brain bait that must be clicked.

This week Lindy and Meagan are 42% less rude than last week! If Lindy and Meagan had a podcast back in June 2023, this episode would have been soooo timely. But they didn’t. So they’re covering the most important story of that year here and now and that is…the implosion of the Titan submersible.
BUT BEFORE WE DIVE INTO THAT, we’re back on our endless, increasingly appalling, and all-encompassing RFK, Jr. beat, which brings us swiftly to Segment P.U.B.E.S. Somehow, this RFK, Jr. has led us on a collision course with a cohort of assholes who bullied Lindy in 2017 for being a nice dork. Guess what, dingalings? It’s 2024 and we’re ready to take you down a peg! Being good and nice is COOL and being bad and mean is NOT cool. Grow up!
