That song reminds me of that special time with that special person. Music often takes us back to a moment of our life that we love to revisit. Jovial Jay and Shua share some of their favorite albums and why they love them on Enjoy Stuff.

What we’re Enjoying
Shua has been revisiting the funny pages with the complete collection of Berke Breathed's Bloom County. This classic comic strip was a staple of the 80’s and spotlighted important political and social issues while selling stuffed penguins. Jay joined in the fun of so many Star Wars fans when he experienced Andor season 2. The storytelling is award-worthy, the performances were sensational, and it will go down as one of the best Star Wars tales of all time. And of course you should follow it up with Andor season three, also known as Rogue One.
Sci-Fi Saturdays
This week on Sci-Fi Saturdays Jay is filled with Dredd. Judge Dredd that is. The 2012 film starring Karl Urban is pretty true to the original and less campy than it’s 90s counterpart. Read his article on RetroZap.com. And make sure to play around with the interactive map on MCULocationScout.com. Plus, you can tune in to SHIELD: Case Files where Jay and Shua talk about great stuff in the MCU.
Enjoy Music!
Doctor Oliver Sacks calls the psychological connection between the music and the brain “Musicophilia”. We call it a lot of fun. When you experience music at important times in your life, it tends to stick with you. And when you want to have some of those feelings again, all you need to do is put that album on again. Music is an important part of Jay’s and Shua’s life, and so many great memories are tied to tunes. Let’s take a look at what they are and why they like them so much.

Practice in the cave and then go punch all those bad guys. Shua was pleasantly surprised to really have a great time with Pokerface season 2 starring Natasha Lyonne, now streaming on Peacock.
Sci-Fi Saturdays
This week on Sci-Fi Saturdays Jay does his best to find the fun in the 2012 remake of Total Recall. Unfortunately, it doesn’t go far enough away from the original with Arnold. Coming soon to own on videocassette! It was something we loved seeing, knowing that we could continue to build our ever expanding VHS movie collection. This week we talk with Chris Luby from Chris Collects Stuff on YouTube about the art of collecting VHS tapes.
Will the movie you want to rent be at the video store? We hope so. Otherwise, we’ll just watch Killer Klowns from Outer Space Again. Because it’s a classic! Let’s look into the world of VHS.
What we’re Enjoying
Shua found a cool noir detective audio drama on Audible. The Big Fix: A Jack Bergin Mystery stars Jon Hamm as the classic style detective, trying to get a wrongly accused man out of jail and solve a murder, all surrounded by the Brooklyn Dodgers moving to LA. Totally fun, and totally free. Jay has been wanting to see what the new Apple TV+ series starring Seth Rogan called The Studio. It is an interesting look at the movie industry and the chaos that makes it.
Sci-Fi Saturdays
This week on Sci-Fi Saturdays Jay revisits the 2012 kind-of-Alien prequel called Prometheus. It is a gory telling of the classic tale of aliens destroying man. Read his article on RetroZap.com. And make sure to play around with the interactive map on MCULocationScout.com. Plus, you can tune in to SHIELD: Case Files where Jay and Shua talk about great stuff in the MCU.
Enjoy Video Tapes!
This week we are joined by friend and collector Chris Luby. His YouTube channel Chris Collects Stuff spotlights some of the great things he loves to collect, particularly VHS tapes. This quirky and growing hobby is not only fun, it’s also a way to preserve a historical era when we were obsessed with consuming as much media as we could, in magnetic, rectangular form. We discuss the why of the hobby, some rare finds, and some that are elusive.

Jay has been rewatching the ABC Marvel series Agents of SHIELD for both Location Scout and great amounts of Enjoyment. He’s on season 4 and that’s the best one. Shua found a sequel to a classic Michael Chrichton novel the Andromeda Strain with a new modern day threat called Andromeda: Evolution. There’s a little suspension of disbelief, but it’s a fun saving of the world from germs kinda story.
Sci-Fi Saturdays
This week on Sci-Fi Saturdays Jay refreshes his memory for destroying fascists by watching the 2012 bizarre sci-fi movie Iron Sky. Evil humans hiding on the moon since the 40s, returning to Earth to take over the world. Read his article on RetroZap.com. And make sure to play around with the interactive map on MCULocationScout.com. Plus, you can tune in to SHIELD: Case Files where Jay and Shua talk about great stuff in the MCU.
Enjoy Star Wars!
Season 5 of Enjoy Stuff premieres with a celebration of Star Wars! Twenty years ago, we went crazy all summer seeing what we thought would be the last Star Wars movie ever; Revenge of the Sith. It was an exciting year of hype, merchandise, and standing in lines. But then, we got an exciting Christmas present when a sequel to our favorite galaxy was released. The Force Awakens awakened that excitement it had been so long since we felt. More Celebrations, more hype, more merchandise, and more lines (although, much easier to navigate). Let’s take a look back at two giant Star Wars films.

Shua got super smart this week with the Val Kilmer classic Real Genius. Does it still have messages for us today, or is it just a hilarious movie? Jay continues his ride along the western trail with two James Garner comedies; Support Your Local Sheriff and Support Your Local Gunfighter. These movies are a fun addition to the genre with James Garner showing his skill as a comedic actor. Check out these movies and see how you like them.
Sci-Fi Saturdays
This week on Sci-Fi Saturdays Jay analyzes the underrated 2012 imagining of a classic tale, John Carter. The story may be outdated, but it has a lot of good sci-fi within. Read his article on RetroZap.com. And make sure to play around with the interactive map on MCULocationScout.com. Plus, you can tune in to SHIELD: Case Files where Jay and Shua talk about great stuff in the MCU.

What we’re Enjoying
Jay continues to ride the trail of Western Movies, but adds a little prehistoric this week with his viewing of One Million Years BC. The quality of this Ray Harryhausen movie may not have been at the top of his list, but it was still an interesting idea and had some crazy genre mashups. Shua found some cool YouTube channels that have some great, high quality classic Pink Panther cartoons. It’s a great way to have some retro in the background.
Sci-Fi Saturdays
This week on Sci-Fi Saturdays Jay gets real with the 2011 Hugh Jackman movie Real Steel. This often overlooked film has a lot of great robot action in the boxing ring, like a mechanical Rocky. Read his article on RetroZap.com. And make sure to play around with the interactive map on MCULocationScout.com. Plus, you can tune in to SHIELD: Case Files where Jay and Shua talk about great stuff in the MCU.
Enjoy Video Games!
We loved spending time in the arcade as we were growing up. We tried to use our quarters wisely and budget them for the maximum experience possible. But sometimes we had to cram a lot of them into games over and over because they were so hard. Which ones were the most challenging? Were they the same ones you struggled with? Let’s see what the internet said and decide if we agree.

What we’re Enjoying
Shua was surprised how much fun the new A24 movie Death of a Unicorn, starring Paul Rudd and Jenna Ortega. It’s not just a horror movie with a killer horse with a horn. There’s much more to the story and themes of the film. Jay is still enjoying westerns with a variety of tellings of the same, classic story. Tombstone (1993) and Gunfight at the OK Corral (1957). Inspired by news of Val Kilmer, Tombstone reminds us why this performance is so well loved. And Gunfight… spotlights the decade it was made with a different kind of interpretation. Check them all out and let us know how you like them.
Sci-Fi Saturdays
This week on Sci-Fi Saturdays Jay analyzes the first movie in the newest Planet of the Apes franchise. 2011’s Rise of the Planet of the Apes started off as it’s own story, not connected to the idea that the originals created. But it soon became obvious that it was much more complex. An interesting take on how those Apes could have come into power. Read his article on RetroZap.com. And make sure to play around with the interactive map on MCULocationScout.com. Plus, you can tune in to SHIELD: Case Files where Jay and Shua talk about great stuff in the MCU.

What we’re Enjoying
Jay revisited a classic 1955 Spencer Tracy classic called Bad Day at Black Rock. It’s a modern day western and mystery that will keep you in suspense and keep you guessing what’s really happening. You can find it at AppleTV. Shua read the last Dennis E. Taylor of his published works, Feedback. It’s a very short, but very mind bending time travel tale and the weird results that it might cause. You can check it out on Audible.
Sci-Fi Saturdays
This week on Sci-Fi Saturdays Jay puts on the chaps and revisits the 2011 Jon Favreau passion project Cowboys & Aliens. It’s a blending of genres in a fun action outing with Harrison Ford and Daniel Craig. Read his article on RetroZap.com. And make sure to play around with the interactive map on MCULocationScout.com. In 2005 game developers Traveller’s Tales was tasked to create a blending of Star Wars with LEGO. The amazing LEGO sets had been out for six years at this point, but could it be translated into an interactive world? Turns out the answer is not only ‘yes’, but it’s ‘Yes, and it’s going to be the first of many iconic follow ups with Star Wars and a variety of other franchises.’ Let’s take a trip back to the beginnings of the LEGO company and how it evolved into this digital version and interpretation of favorite characters and settings. Then let’s look at why we love it so much!

Jay found the Wired Autocomplete interview with Ke Huy Quan on YouTube, and it is as amazing as it sounds. Even when he is acting completely out of character, for laughs. It keeps you guessing as you figure out who the real villain actually is.
Sci-Fi Saturdays
This week on Sci-Fi Saturdays Jay reviews the 2011 thriller The Adjustment Bureau, starring Matt Damon and Emily Blunt. Shua experienced the wacky adaptation of Back to the Future the Musical. It included some groundbreaking stage effects to help us envision a real Delorean. On tour now.
Sci-Fi Saturdays
This week on Sci-Fi Saturdays Jay gets post apocalyptic with Denzel Washington’s 2010 film The Book of Eli. The theming seemed a bit obvious, but after a watch, it revealed some deeper ideas that are still relevant today. Read his article on RetroZap.com. And make sure to play around with the interactive map on MCULocationScout.com. Plus, you can tune in to SHIELD: Case Files where Jay and Shua talk about great stuff in the MCU.

What we’re Enjoying
What would you do if your body was being replaced by chrome nanites? How would the world react with the threat of an alien infestation? That’s the question in the book that Shua is Enjoying, “The Singularity Trap” by Dennis E. Taylor. An Audible exclusive and another great Sci-Fi book. Jay revisited an Alfred Hitchcock masterpiece from 1954, “Rear Window” starring Jimmy Stewart. One of many brilliant pieces of art from the legendary director. It will keep you on the edge of your seat and keep you guessing.
Sci-Fi Saturdays
This week on Sci-Fi Saturdays Jay travels to Pandora in the 2009 James Cameron extravaganza, Avatar. While it may borrow ideas from a lot of different sources, it’s a beautiful watch with some important themes. So start recycling people! Read his article on RetroZap.com. And make sure to play around with the interactive map on MCULocationScout.com. Plus, you can tune in to SHIELD: Case Files where Jay and Shua talk about great stuff in the MCU.
Enjoy Groundhogs!
Jay and Shua take a deep dive into the history of Groundhog Day and the 1993 classic Groundhog Day, starring Bill Murray and Andie MacDowell. They explore how the holiday started and how it turned into what we know today, where a groundhog predicts the weather for the year ahead, because, apparently, we trust rodents to be trustworthy meteorologists. The guys also dissect the beloved film, touching on the themes of personal growth, redemption, and how a guy stuck in the same day for so long can still teach us something about life. Along the way, they toss out their own theories on just how long Phil was trapped in that time loop and what it might have been like to live through it. And Jay gives Shua some trivia about the movie and the holiday that you probably didn’t know, unless, of course, you're a groundhog.
What do you like about Groundhog Day? Do you want to hear a joke about Deja Vu? First person that emails me with the subject line, “I got you babe” will get a special mention on the show. Let us know. Come talk to us in the Discord channel or send us an email to [email protected]

What would you do for peace? Jay knows, because he’s been watching the James Gunn DC series Peacemaker, starring John Cena. Season 2 is coming soon. Shua has been rewatching the SyFy series Resident Alien with Alan Tudyk. A funny show about an alien that’s trying to fit in in a small Colorado town. Season 4 comes later this year.
Sci-Fi Saturdays
This week on Sci-Fi Saturdays Jay uses a different body to rewatch the 2009 Bruce Willis movie Surrogates. In the not too distant future there’s been murders in a very unique and science fiction way. Read his article on RetroZap.com. And make sure to play around with the interactive map on MCULocationScout.com. Plus, you can tune in to SHIELD: Case Files where Jay and Shua talk about great stuff in the MCU.
Enjoy Apes!
This week we’re taking a deep dive into the Planet of the Apes franchise, starting with the original five films that changed the sci-fi landscape forever. From groundbreaking makeup effects to thought-provoking themes about society, freedom, and the future, we’ll break down what made these films so iconic. We’ll even talk about that legendary twist ending—spoiler alert: it’s not just the apes who are monkeying with time! Get ready for a walk through the ‘60s and ‘70s, where human civilization was thrown into chaos… but at least there were plenty of monkeys to blame.
Then, we swing into the remakes, reboots, and the massive media expansion that followed. From the 2001 Tim Burton film to the recent reboots, we’ll discuss how the franchise evolved and stayed relevant in the modern era. We’ll also chat about the Planet of the Apes animated series, the live-action TV show, and even the comic books that kept the ape-filled madness alive. It's a bananas good time, so don’t go ape on us—tune in for a full breakdown of everything from the original films to the latest apes on screen!
And, as an added bonus, we play a game of Deli Food or Ape? What game is that? Tune in to find out!

What we’re Enjoying
Is life really a happy song? Shua tried to find out when he rewatched a Shua Family favorite, the 2011 revival, The Muppets. It’s a fun romp with the classic characters and a few new friends, like the whistling Muppet fan, Walter. Plus, it resurfaced some great memories with his kids. Jay re-read Ready Player Two by Ernest Cline. Despite not having the same umph as the first book, there were some good moments that celebrated the pop culture we grew up with.
Sci-Fi Saturdays
This week on Sci-Fi Saturdays Jay slingshots back and forth with The Time Traveler’s Wife (2009). In this fairly unique take on time travel, Henry (Eric Bana) has a genetic condition that causes him to boomerang through time. Which makes it pretty hard for Clare (Rachel McAdams) to have an engaging marriage, (or at least throw a good surprise party). Read his article on RetroZap.com. And make sure to play around with the interactive map on MCULocationScout.com. Plus, you can tune in to SHIELD: Case Files where Jay and Shua talk about great stuff in the MCU.
Enjoy Toys!
Jay and Shua are celebrating Mattel's 80th anniversary by taking a nostalgic deep dive into the legendary toy company's history. From Barbie’s dream house to Hot Wheels' epic car chases, they explore the toys that made generations of kids skip school, forget chores, and sometimes go through barrels of batteries playing Electronic Football. With a side of humor and a sprinkle of nostalgia, they also discuss the evolution of Mattel’s lineup, including the iconic He-Man action figures—because nothing says "childhood" like battling over who had the better sword.
The guys also dig into some classics too, like the 3D magic of the View-Master (which was basically your first VR headset, minus the headache) and the intense, back-and-forth slugfests of Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots. As they chat about Mattel's rise to toy royalty, they’ll take you on a wild ride through their most cherished memories, sharing funny stories about toys that taught us all how to "play hard" and sometimes "play dirty." Get ready for a rollercoaster of laughs and memories as they celebrate the legacy of a company that’s been keeping kids (and adults) entertained for eight decades.
Did we mention one of your favorite Mattel toys? Which ones shaped your childhood? First person that emails me with the subject line, “You can tell it's Mattel, it's swell!” will get a special mention on the show. Let us know. What we’re Enjoying
Jay got a little nutty by rewatching some old Jerry Lewis comedies. The Ladies Man and The Errand Boy are classic Lewis humor that is a great break from the real world. Shua is surprisingly enjoying the pirate themed series Star Wars Skeleton Crew. A romp through the galaxy that crosses Star Wars with the Goonies.
Sci-Fi Saturdays
This week on Sci-Fi Saturdays Jay examines some social commentary with Neill Blomkamp’s District 9. The 2009 alien immigrant film reflects a sad and ugly truth about the way humans treat each other. A gritty story set in the near future that features a poor character slowly realizes that bigotry is an issue that everyone should be aware and try to eliminate. Read his article on RetroZap.com. And make sure to play around with the interactive map on MCULocationScout.com. Plus, you can tune in to SHIELD: Case Files where Jay and Shua talk about great stuff in the MCU.
Enjoy Dragons!
Dragon tales have been told since the times of Mesopotamian mythology. Some believe that dragons may have been creatures to watch out for as far back as 75,000 years ago in South Africa. Whenever they began, their popularity has not waned. So when we began to make motion pictures, dragons were the perfect foils. We look at dragons from Puff to Maleficent to King Ghidorah. Are they rideable? What are some defining characteristics? Are they good or bad. Hop on for luck as Enjoy Stuff gets dragony!
Who’s your favorite dragon? Where do they fall on our scale? First person that emails me with the subject line, “Who dares disturb my slumber?” will get a special mention on the show. Let us know. Come talk to us in the Discord channel or send us an email to [email protected]
