Chris Kling talking with Dominik Krämer (Bassist for Stefan Raab/Heavytones, Joy Denalane, Freundeskreis, Maxim, The Voice of Germany, Sing mein Song, and many more...)
After speaking about the duties of a good bass player, we covered bad jokes about bassists (and where they come from), the sweetness of a decent midrange, "pocket" and assets of nonliear tempo, what we are losing in music - and why it is all about making everybody happy! -
Chris Kling talking with Eric Boulanger (Grammy-awarded Mastering and Vinyl Cutting Engineer - Green Day, Hozier, Colbie Caillat, OneRepublic, Eric Burdon, Neil Young, The Doors,...)
In an excessive and entertaining talk, Eric gives insight about the history of Mastering and cleans up with myths about vinyl while sharing comprehensible technical insight. Eric and Chris philosophize about music experiences and formats, the stigma of music as a business, new ideas for multi-channel audio - and why vinyl will disappear eventally! -

Chris Kling talking with Zino Mikorey (Gold- and Platinum-awarded Mastering Enigneer - Nils Frahm, Thom Yorke, Annen May Kantereit)
After trying our best with defining the term Mastering, we covered questions relating stem-mastering, loudness, and AI-based services - and what all this has to do with anxiousness, fears, money and budget, managing expectations and mastering tracks for the eternity. -
What can you expect to hear in this podcast? On a bi-weekly basis, we are going to share insights and knowledge from our side of the studio window. We will chat about what we think is a worthwhile subject to discuss and talk with people inside our professional network and beyond that are some of the most inspiring and ambitious personalities in the music production business. Mostly in English, sometimes in German.
Most episodes will be presented by Chris Kling, producer, recording and mixing engineer as well as the owner of Klangkantine Studios near Frankfurt Germany.
But if you come here for gear or nerd talk, you might be in the wrong place: We do this to share our talks and insights with all the striving artists and determined musicians we work with every day. No nerdy techtalk, no textbook tutorials and no rubbish, only Real Talk.
So follow us and stay tuned for hopefully many more interesting episodes to come!
