In today´s episode of Sweat Your Assets, we will hear an extract of the Roger Federer´s commencement speech at Dartmouth University in 2024, where he distills 3 lessons for life.
Federer is not only a fantastic champion celebrated for his graceful playing style, exceptional sportsmanship, and longevity at the highest level of the sport. Federer's influence extends beyond the tennis court; he is known for his philanthropic efforts and for being a global ambassador for the sport. He is also soft spoken and humble leader. In 2022, Federer announced his retirement from professional tennis, leaving behind an extraordinary legacy as a player, role model, and humanitarian.
In today´s speech he is clearly very excited, and emotional in addressing his classmates of 2024.

Welcome to Sweat Your Assets, a podcast boosted with practical wisdom to help you master your personal and financial growth.
I’m Alessandro Baroni, and in today’s episode number 13, I will talk about Charlie Munger, and share my favorite Charlie’s quotes of all times!
Charlie Munger died on November 28, 2023, at age 99. He’s the lesser-known half of the team that built Berkshire Hathaway. Still, he was the most colorful of the pair.
Thanks to his witty, no-BS comments, it is always a treat to read or listen to Charlie’s interviews. For sure, there will be times, when we will ask ourselves: what would Charlie have said about it?
Despite his financial success, It might be Munger’s multidisciplinary mindset that offers the greatest lesson. He dedicated his life to learning and improving one day at a time — compounding wisdom. And he generously shared so much of it over the years. He was a teacher, above all else, for anyone open to learning.
His articles and speeches are pretty long and dense. Still, it is possible to isolate brilliant thoughts that summarize his humor and cunning spirit. Check out a collection of my favorite Charlie’s quotes of all time.

Welcome to Sweat Your Assets, a podcast boosted with practical wisdom to help you master your personal and financial growth.
I’m Alessandro Baroni, and in today’s episode number 11, I share a timeless speech of Charlie Munger at his best!
The lecture – given at Harvard University back in 1995, is known as the "25 Cognitive Biases".
It covers Munger's mindset on decision-making and analysis. I am sure you will find these notions extremely valuable, not only in Investing but in any human endeavor.
Enjoy!

Welcome to Sweat Your Assets, a podcast boosted with practical wisdom to help you master your personal and financial growth.
I’m Alessandro Baroni, and in today’s episode number 10, I look at Kipling’s timeless poem — an exquisite but powerful call to stand apart and build a strong mindset: the foundation for your personal and financial growth.
English actor Michael Caine reads the poem. In an interview, he mentioned it is one of his favorite poems. I hope it becomes one of your favorites, too.

Welcome to Sweat Your Assets, a podcast boosted with practical wisdom to help you master your personal and financial growth. I’m Alessandro Baroni, and in today’s episode number 9, I comment JL Collins book: the Simple Path to Wealth.
Collins is a well-known figure in the FI-RE movement. Collins's book - The Simple Path to Wealth - grows out of letters - mostly about money and investing- to his teenage daughter. For this reason, his advice sounds truly personal, authentic, and straightforward.

Mario Draghi over the years has been president of the European Central Bank, Governor of the Italian Central Bank, Italian Prime Minister, and Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Goldman Sachs.
On June 2023, he gave a speech at MIT, covering Global Affairs, Economy, and International Markets.
I learned from Howard Marks to overlook predictions but to get a good grasp of where we stand right now and which are the challenges and opportunities to tackle immediately.
Draghi’s high-level insights are gold.
I am sure you will enjoy this last episode of Sweat Your Assets.

With investing, I suggest looking for clear investment strategies and realistic returns rather than “smart” and exclusive opportunities. It is often too late once you get burned by a market scam.
Check out the 6 biggest Financial Frauds of all time, from Ponzi to Madoff! If history and human behavior teach us anything, It is fair to assume we will have more to come.

Welcome to Sweat Your Assets, a podcast boosted with practical wisdom to help you master your personal and financial growth. I’m Alessandro Baroni, and in today’s episode number 6, I read Tariq Fancy's "Secret Diary of a Sustainable Investor."
It is tempting to overload any investment conversation by quoting statistical models and technical terms.
In this fast-paced financial world focusing on trading trends, online platforms, and market movements, it's easy to get lost in the weeds and lose sight of the grounding principles of managing your money essential to long-term success.
However, investment decisions should mostly rely on good judgment and basic arithmetics.
While some investors prefer rapid trades and short-term gains, others adopt a more patient and disciplined approach.
To better understand investing principles, I find solace and clarity in looking into timeless farmer's wisdom to guide my investment approach.
I hope you enjoy the episode. The full script of the Podcast can be accessed here.

In its author’s words, the Money Code that Jewish knew for centuries is found in the books containing history’s greatest wisdom: Jewish religious texts. Although some popular religious texts such as the New Testament, Quran, Bhagavad Gita, Tao Te Ching or Tibetan Book of the Dead (Bardo Thodol) contain interesting insights and wisdom, it is the Jewish religious texts such as the Old Testament [Tanakh] that contains valuable information on acquiring Wealth.
