Tim shares his experiences as a teenage Grateful Dead fan, his extensive knowledge of country music (jw is still skeptical), and pulls a stub from a 1989 Grateful Dead show in Pittsburgh that not everyone got into. Well this is cool! Skinny and JW welcome killer bassist Karina Rykman to Stub Me Down for the 3rd episode of Season 5. Before she heads back out on the road, Karina graciously dropped in to chat about her debut album Joyride, performing at Peach Festival and some of her early music projects. She shares some wisdom she picked up from Trey Anastasio, who helped Karina produce Joyride and contributed guitar to several tracks. Karina's unbounded exuberance shines through as she shares what she learned playing with Marco Benevento and how she has brought those lessons forward with her current bandmates Adam November (guitar) and Chris Corsico (drums). Karina's humility and gratitude are readily apparent as she considers her professional progress and looks forward to a busy 2024. She even shares a warning about the dangers of post-show baths!
