  • How can you make the most of that last day before your exam?

What EXACTLY should you do to make sure that you are fully prepared for that mock exam tomorrow - with only one day to prepare?

I have an unwaivering belief that a 7 is achievable for all IB Physics students. OK - you may not be thinking anywhere near a 7 yet - but it's only your mock exams.

    BUT...

What if your mock exams will be the base for your predicted grade? What if you haven't done any revision for your mocks? What if you only have one day to prepare?

In this podcast, I'll walk you through five steps for being perfectly prepared for your mock exams. I'll tell you exactly what to study and how to study it.

I really think you need to listen to this....

  • PLEASE NOTE: I'm uncomfortable using the word "hack" 😂

However.... I'm just here to tell you what works.

These are the 4 essential tweaks every IB Physics student needs to be implementing (but most aren't!) for a higher IB Physics grade in class tests and exams.

    They're simple tips.They're tried-and-tested.They work.

In this podcast, I'll show you how to:

Get that EASY additional 1-2% in Paper 1Just memorise 'stuff' for 9-11% extra on your gradeOne simple exam command word for 6% more in Paper 2Know what IMPOSSIBLE and get an extra 1-2%YOU'LL ALSO RECEIVE A FREE GIFT!I have compiled a RIDICULOUSLY USEFUL reference sheet of exam command words used in IB Physics exams and what they actually mean.

I have an unshakeable belief that a 7 is achievable for all IB Physics students. This video will make it easier for you to share my unshakeable belief that YOU can achieve a 7 too.

Can you afford to miss out on these?

  • Let's look at the statistics behind the IB Physics exams and analyse how likely you are to obtain a 7 in IB Physics.

Should you even bother aiming for top marks??

I have an unwaivering belief that a 7 is achievable for all IB Physics students.

    BUT...

What if only I believe you can achieve that top marks? What if I am completely deluded? What if the statistics are completely against you and it's high unlikely you'll get a 7 in IB Physics?

    WORSE.....!

Maybe you simply don't believe in your own ability and you don't believe you can get a 7 in IB Physics.

In this podcast, I'll look at the facts, figures and statistics since May 2016. I'll analyse the likelihood that you will achieve a 7 in IB Physics and I'll answer the following questions:

Is IB Physics the hardest subject? How likely is getting a 7 in IB Physics? Is it easier to get a 7 in SL or HL Physics? How hard is it to get a 7 in IB Physics? What can I do to improve my chances of getting a 7 in IB Physics?

REMEMBER - I 100% believe in you all!

I 100% believe that you can all achieve a 7 in IB Physics!

Sooooo.... in this podcast, I'll put all my optimistic beliefs to one side and I'll analyse the facts. I've gone through every subject reports and statistics report since May 2016 and I've reported the cold truth behind the IB Physics grades.

  • I like to simplify IB Physics into an easy, step-by-step method.

I start with the most heavily-weighted topic in the final exams and I teach that topic first.

For IB Physics, the most heavily-weighted topic is Topic 2: Mechanics.

I break Topic 2 down further in the most frequently assessed concepts and I concentrate on them first.

My step-by-step strategy is designed to improve my students grades in Mechanics in the most effective and efficient way - and it works!

Today, I thought it would be useful to share some of the facts that my step-by-step strategy is built upon and I'm going to focus particularly on Topic 2: Mechanics.

    In this podcast, I'll discuss:

How heavily weighted Mechanics is in the final examsWhich Mechanics concepts are most frequently examinedMistakes most students make in MechanicsWhich formulae are NOT in the data booklet (memorise these!)Why we need Mechanics in real life anyway!

  • In this episode, Sally shares the secret the success in multiple choice questions after years of analysis of all the past papers.

From Day 1 of IB Physics, it's likely that you will have to tackle multiple choice questions. Let's face it, they are super easy to mark - so they are a firm favourite when setting homework for teachers!

The irony is... in a multiple choice questions, the answer is right in front of you! So they should be ridiculously easy. BUT THEY ARE NOT.

The other issue is that 20-30% of your FINAL IB Physics grade will be down to your performance in multiple choice questions. So it's important you improve this skill soon.

How would it feel to be so good at multiple choice questions that you knew you had 20-30% of your final grade IN. THE. BAG?

    Sound good?

In this podcast, I’ll share a free recommended resources (not GradePod) for practicing multiple choice questions (mapped exactly to IB Physics specification) AND I'll share my easily actionable tips to improving in answering multiple choice questions quickly.

  • I know I'm old (42 - ancient right?) but I'm also quite geeky. I can while away hours on subreddits and discord servers reading random nonsense.

When it comes to nonsense in the IBO subreddits and discord servers - I often can't believe what I'm seeing! There are so many lies flying about about the IB Physics IA. It's like these forums are a breeding ground of misconceptions and the main goal is to make you think that the IB Physics Internal Assessment is a PhD dissertation that is worthy of a Nobel prize!

In particular, I've identified 5 lies that are repeatedly told and believed WORLDWIDE! I'll blow apart this nonsense and tell you the truth about the IB Physics IA to make is a much simpler, and even enjoyable, process.

    Sound good?

In this podcast, I'll take 13 minutes of your days to highlight the five biggest misconceptions about the IB Physics IA and I believe I'll relieve you of the stress that accompanies this (honestly straightforward) task.

[04:15] Lie #2: How do you really get the personal engagement marks? HINT: it's NOT that way you think....!

[07:52] Lie #3: You're an HL student - so you need an HL idea - right?

[08:50] The topics you should DEFINITELY steer away from - especially if you are an HL student.

[10:52] Lie #4: Titles pages, word count and page count

[11:59] Lie #5: This is a "WHITE LIE"! Find out why!

  • Do you believe in magic?

    I do!

I’ve been teaching the International Baccalaureate (IBDP) Physics specification since 2004 and I believe in magic…. (not sure about ghosts though - they freak me out!)

Today, all you IB Physics students out there - I have the supernatural force that will make you believe in magic too.

I have my magic marking grid

    Sound good?

In this podcast, I’ll share how EXACTLY how to use my magic tool to overcome this common problem in IB Physics:

    ______________________________________________________________

Despite the fact that you understand the material fairly well, you don't seem to be able to apply it thoroughly in exam questions

  •  This may come as a bit of a surprise.... but I think you should throw all your physics notes in the bin. Now. Before your exams.

If you are being honest with yourself, are your class notes organised, useful and structured? Do they contain all the vital information you need to memorise before the exams?

    OR

Are your class notes made up of lots of different piles of 'stuff'? Maybe come calculation answers on some pages, some random class notes on other pages, some is marked by your teacher, some isn't.....?

Honestly. Throw it all in the bin and I'll show you how to get organised.

I'll show you how to get EVERYTHING you need to know condensed into two sides of A4 paper.

    Sound good?

In this podcast, I’ll share how EXACTLY to condense every IB Physics topic into one piece of paper. I'll also explain why you should do it. Listen closely because this advice might revolutionise the way you study ALL of your IB subjects.
