This week, Ryland and Charlie are ringing in the holiday season with their annual Christmas show!! Having already talked about BAD SANTA with Sean Murphy and also NATIONAL LAMPOON'S CHRISTMAS VACATION in previous Christmas shows, this year they are tackling a brand new release. 2022's Holiday Heist flick VIOLENT NIGHT starring David Harbour and John Leguizamo, directed by Tommy Wirkola. This week, Ryland and Charlie decided it was time to add another layer to their Nicolas Cage Double Feature series STEPPING INTO THE CAGE. And with this, the EIGHTH volume, they watched a pair of Cage flicks from two different decades. The first is the second collaboration between Cage and director John Woo in 2002's WINDTALKERS. And also the 2016 heist film THE TRUST co-starring Elijah Wood. They also give a review of David Cronenberg's newest entry CRIMES OF THE FUTURE that the fellas got to watch last week, and debut a new trivia game for the show entitled 'In The Possessive Form' All this and much more on this brand new episode!

They discuss these two movies as well as give a brief overview of the decade as it relates to popular culture and their own experiences. This week marks the final week of the FEAR⁴ programming we had planned throughout October. And after all 3 of the original Romero zombie flicks talked about, we arrive at RYLAND'S CHOICE. And after long deliberation he landed on Peter Jackson's 1992 New Zealand splatter zombie import DEAD-ALIVE also known as BRAINDEAD abroad. Charlie and Ryland, as a duo, discuss the narrative and the legacy of this film along with some bracket talk, showing off some physical media, reviewing some horror icon reboots, and play a round of First And Favorite all about Zombies!! The three of them discuss narrative, production, and legacy of the film along with a horror icon edition of F@#k Marry Kill, show off some physical media, and look back at zombie cinema from DAWN in 78 to DAY in 85. This week, the FEAR⁴ train rolls on, as Ryland and Charlie are ramped up for Week 2 exploring the Romero Zombie. And the next stop is the 1978 film that further explored the Zombie in a more apocalyptic light. George A. Romero's DAWN OF THE DEAD. And to help them talk about undead creatures, they invited longtime Reel Sh!t member making his record breaking 4TH appearance, The Professor himself, Matthew Smith to assist in the facts of the origins, the production, the financing, the distribution, the post production, and of course the story itself. Along with that, the three of them explore zombie cinema that had cropped up from 1968 to 1978. The time it took for Romero to return to the zombie genre and change the game again. They also play a recasting game for the 4 main leads of DAWN, talk brackets, physical media, and much more on this brand new episode!!

This week, Ryland and Charlie kick off their month long FEAR⁴ series for the spooky season. And this year, the fellas decided to focus on ZOMBIES. Specifically the Romero Zombie. As we take you on a chronological journey through the original Romero Dead Trilogy throughout October. And the first stop is the OG, The Grandaddy of them all. The film that birthed the modern zombie, 1968's NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD directed by the man himself. RIP. And for this discussion, they brought Movie Encyclopedia and FB Movie group admin for the Super Serious Movie Club Gang, Sean McCord. They discuss narrative, impact, and legacy as well as give a history of the movie zombie before Romero got his hands on it. Also they play a double feature game highlighting some non-Romero zombie faire. Hope you love zombies, cuz they got a lot more coming down the line.

One of Charlie's oldest friends, Milo Badlands, took a trip to Charlie's house where he, Charlie, and Ryland had a discussion about middle school, Mean Girls, Kubrick, and many other subjects before they discussed the 1996 Trey Parker directed Troma release of CANNIBAL! THE MUSICAL. Parker's debut feature that was produced while still in college. The three of them had a great talk and now its here for your listening pleasure. This week, Ryland and Charlie are just gonna kick back and knock an easy one off the list. Since they started this show, the fellas have had what they call, "Just In Case" episodes. Just low hanging fruit in case a guest falls through or a movie gets pushed back, scheduling conflicts, etc. And THE BOONDOCK SAINTS is one that has been sitting on the shelf for awhile now. This week, Ryland and Charlie step out of their comfort zones as they traverse a pair of films that showcased the life, the love, the attitude, and the times of the 1970's. After their examination of the previous decade a few months ago, they thought it would be a good idea to keep moving forward and enlighten themselves on the Decade of Decadence. Along with a fairly in depth retrospective of the era, they also chose two films capturing the essence to the times to bookend the decade. They watched 1971's sexy stylish thriller KLUTE starring Jane Fonda and Donald Sutherland, and also 1979's MANHATTAN. Written, directed, and starring Woody Allen. They met up before the screening at a local bar and chopped it up about the Bracket, Ray Liotta, the state of blockbusters today and how their movie collections are coming along. And at the end of the show, the fellas give their hot take review only minutes removed from the theater. And they got it all on tape.
