Our August S2W Podcast discussion invites you to SURRENDER to the possibilities before you. Talking with Emily Walker, yoga teacher, artist, and Social Media Director/Community Planner for swiig Juice Bar & Café, we delved into what it really means to surrender, to find strength in vulnerability, and to hold onto something without “clenching it.” She points out that if we hold on too tightly, it becomes a source of tension, so we need to “surrender with an open palm.”
Emily holds an MA in Religious Studies from Emory University and incorporates times of prayer and quiet into her day, as well as the practices of yoga and Ayurveda, as ways of letting go and making space to live life more fully. Like her last name, she claims to be a “walker” through life, letting go of what doesn’t serve her in order to find her true path.

As human beings, a concept we all can agree upon is that breath is something we literally can’t live without. But using that breath as a centering and healing tool can boost our quality of life. Our April theme of Breathe sparked this insightful S2W conversation with Colin Kirts owner of Koru Real Wellness in Doylestown. Colin points out that “the things we most need to cherish are simple and obvious” like breath. But often those things can be elusive as we try and reach perfection or gain mastery of them. He emphasizes that learning never stops and there is always an “unpredictable adventure” awaiting us. Moving out of our own way and breathing into any situation, helps us regain our center, and focus on what is important at the moment.

Our final podcast of 2021 focuses on the theme of Transcend, the concept of going beyond, rising above, and leaving behind what no longer serves us. I am so excited to welcome, as our guest, Margo Langlotz, owner of Sycamore House: Integrated Healing Energy, massage therapist, Reiki master, dog obedience trainer, and awesome Nourishing Storm Yoga Instructor – not to mention a wife and mom. Margo talks about the challenges of the past year and how it led her to guide others on their healing journey. She emphasizes how important it is for people – and even animals - to transcend their fears, to not be crippled by them or enabled by others to stay in a limiting place. She emphasizes the need to “hold ourselves gently”, create spiritual grounding, and not be afraid to ask others to hold space for us on our journey. She points out that teachers are all around us and describes one of her first teachers, a pony named Pierre, who showed her how exciting it was to gallop and jump.
