Interweaving stories from their own lives, Jami and Amy give a helpful framework for how to understand the absolute weirdness of the Old Testament. We don't have to deny that the stories we read in our Old Testament are hard to understand. What we can do is learn how to read the Old Testament the way it was meant to be read. We go over some of our favorite strange stories and talk through how they were meant to be read.

In this week's episode, we tricked Dr. Don Payne into coming on the show to teach us more without paying him! He thought forcing him to stay after class was bad. Now we have forced him to be on our podcast!
Dr. Don J. Payne was named the VP of Academic Affairs, and Academic Dean in 2021. He joined Denver Seminary in 1998 as director of the suburban and rural training centers in the Training and Mentoring department. In 2001, he was appointed as associate dean and provided overall leadership for the Training and Mentoring program until 2013. In 2004, he was appointed as assistant professor of theology and ministry, then in 2013 as associate professor of Theology and Christian Formation.
