Well, after 13 years of waiting, the new Avatar is finally here for our viewing pleasure. It’s been a long road, and James Cameron seems to be doing everything he can to make it as bumpy as possible, but we’ve arrived at our destination. The Navi are back and the Jungleman has certainly returned. Now, Chris and Zach are going to get down to business tearing it to shreds. Time to see if it was all worth it!

The time has come to talk about one of, if not the most, highly anticipated movies of 2022. After Chadwick Boseman’s passing, it was clear he could never be replaced. And in turn, Ryan Coogler and his team have taken a reverent, nuanced approach to this follow up. Now Chris and Zach are sitting down to discuss this powerful entry in the MCU.

HBO is back at it with the world of Ice and Fire, courtesy of George R.R. Martin. And you know what that means. More sex. More violence. More fore. More Blood. And more relatives getting way too friendly with one another. It’s like we never left! Now Chris and Zach are going to break down everything that made this season of politics and backstabbing as good as it was. It’s dragon vs. dragon now. And you thought your family get-togethers were bad!--- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/scriptorscreen/messageSupport this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/scriptorscreen/support

We live in an internet age of absolutes. You either have to love something or you have to hate it. And in the case of Amazon’s Rings of Power series, there have been some cartoonishly harsh criticisms hurled its way. Is the show perfect? Obviously not. But it’s about the long game. The way of the faithful is committing to pay the price, even if the cost cannot be known, and trusting that, in the end, it will be worth it. And for what it’s worth, we think this show is pretty damn good.

Magic and fantasy action? Class warfare commentary? Deep philosophical discussions on the merits of science and when it goes too far? All of that, and also a soundtrack that slaps? Sign us up. Look, we could have done our research and written a description for this episode with all kinds of League of Legends easter eggs, but the best part about Arcane is that you don’t need to know anything about LoL to enjoy it. Or to do a podcast on it. Or write an episode description.

With Better Call Saul having recently come to an end, Chris and Zach sit down to discuss this fantastic series, from the amazing characters to the unforgettable plot, the masterful direction, and everything else they can think of. Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould crafted one hell of a character study, giving us a spinoff every bit as good as its source material, and in some cases, maybe even better!

On this episode of Script or Screen, Chris and Zach go in depth on the new film Nope. It’s another Jordan Peele feature, and you know what that means: More social commentary! More nuggets of truth! More dark comedy! More moments of genuine tension! More equestrian-targeted violence? I feel like I’m getting off track a bit. Just enjoy another episode where we talk about a movie worth talking about.

Yes, it’s another Marvel double feature. No, we didn’t plan it. No, this isn’t how we’re doing it from now on. It’s not our fault that Marvel is inundating us with content with little to no room in between. Or maybe it is. After all, we’re giving them the attention. Maybe we’re the problem. Either way, Chris and Zach are here to talk about Thor: Love and Thunder and Ms. Marvel, so enjoy this two-for-one special. That’ll be $15.

I think we can all agree that despite the prequel trilogy not being the best, it had its good moments. And probably the best in that regard was Ewan McGregor as Obi Wan. We know it. You know it. And Disney knows it too. So, Chris and Zach aren’t going to complain (too much) when they cover it in this episode of Script or Screen.

This week on Script or Screen, Chris and Zach are taking a look at the first season of Stranger Things and all the stranger things that happen in it. The Byers boy has gone missing, some weird kid with a shaved head has shown up, and there’s a monster with no face lurking in the woods. Mix that all together with a near lethal dose of weapons-grade 80s nostalgia and you’ve got yourself one hell of a show to enjoy. And just in time for the end of Season 4!

With Star Wars Celebration having recently blessed our timelines with a slew of new titles to get excited for, Chris and Zach have decided to go back to when the franchise broke the cinematic mold and presented a side story to the main event. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story answers some big questions that may or may not have actually ever been asked, but it’s a fun ride either way, so why not cover it? Plus, it’s the perfect primer for the upcoming Andor series, so there’s that too.

It’s the team up that everyone wanted, even if they never knew about it. That’s right, for the first time ever, these two titans are standing side by side for the greater good. What’s that? No, not Moon Knight and Dr. Strange. I mean the team up of movie theaters and Disney+ to make sure that no one goes any length of time without some Marvel title funneled into their brains. Some might even say it’s the greatest crossover of our time.

Is there anything cooler in history than Vikings? Some people would say no and some would say yes, but those people don’t know what they’re talking about, because Vikings are rad. Everyone knows it. Chris and Zach think so too, and that’s why they took time out of their busy schedules to watch the new Robert Eggers film, The Nortman, and talk about it on this episode of Script or Screen.

The time has come at last! The boys spent a few weeks preparing themselves with some of Matt Reeves’ back catalogue and now, Chris and Zach are here to discuss their thoughts on 2022’s The Batman. Robert Pattinson has donned the cowl this time and is imbuing it with his own dark, violent and noticeably pale persona. Seriously, can we get this guy a chair in the sunlight? He’s about to pass out from a Vitamin D deficiency!

We saw the Rise. We witnessed the Dawn. And now Chris and Zach sit down to discuss the end of this epic trilogy. But after the War, what comes next? Vacation of the Planet of the Apes? Afternoon Snack of the Planet of the Apes? Tax Season of the Planet of the Apes? The possibilities are limitless. Ball’s in your court, Disney.

How far would you be willing to go to protect someone you love? Would you lie? Kill? Go into hiding? If you answered yes to any of those questions, then boy do we have a show for you! If you answered no, then boy do we have a show for you! If you answered with a desire to hear Chris and Zach talk about that sort of thing, then BOY do we have a show for you!

We’re back with more Star Wars in the latest offering from Lucasfilm and Disney. And well, it certainly is an offering, isn’t it? Can we even call this a Boba Fett show? There’s way more going on and I don’t think an episode description is the place to get into it. Needless to say, Chris and Zach have opinions. And they’re sharing those opinions now.

Before you know it, March will be here, and we’ll be heading to theaters to see The Batman. But before that, Chris and Zach are taking time out of their busy schedules to discuss Matt Reeves’ 2014 blockbuster hit, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. You know the old saying, “Monkey see, monkey do”. So where do podcast hosts fit into all of that?

We at Script or Screen come now to one of the masterpieces of The Bard himself, William Shakespeare, with The Tragedy of Macbeth. And who better to bring us this newest take on the classic story of historically bad advice than Joel Coen. Chris and Zach sit down with this movie, presented in black and white, to discuss a story that is anything but.

A new year is upon us and that means more movies, more TV and more Script or Screen. Chris and Zach take this episode to look ahead at what films and shows are coming down the pipe for 2022. It’s gonna be another big year for the industry, so don’t waste any more time reading this and settle in for another fun episode with the boys.
