The truth is, nothing changes in your business on January 1st unless you change. On this episode of the Runner Rising podcast, I share the 3 step process that will help you reflect & analyze your current business so you can make a solid plan to improve in 2025.
Step 1: Reflect on Wins & Areas of Improvements
Don't set goals without first celebrating your achievements and analyzing the areas of growth. This goes beyond income -let's celebrate all the runners who you helped this year too.
Step 2: Analyze income streams
Many run coaches have 2+ income streams, whether it’s a full time job, another business or multiple offers. This exercise will help you determine where to spend your time & energy going forward to maximize income & fulfillment.
Step 3: Set Goals
Get clear on 5 year and 1 year goals & put a plan in place to get there. This includes both the actions you need to take and the mindset you need to adopt.
You’ve got this! If you’d like to share your goals with me, don’t hesitate to reach out to me on Instagram or email me at [email protected]

You want to help runners, but it feels hard to get runners to coach right!?
Marketing yourself as a run coach is different than other businesses . You're not an influencer. You're not selling a product. You're selling coaching. There are certain things you need to do to build enough credibility & trust for someone to put their coaching in your hands. How do you do that!?
Maybe you don't where to start when it comes to marketing your run coaching business or your current marketing strategy (or the spaghetti you're throwing at the all) just isn't consistently working?
Or maybe you get clients but you really have no idea when the next one is coming.
If this sounds like you, you don't want to miss this episode where I break down the 4 steps to getting more clients in 2025.
I hope that you get a ton of value out of this one!
And if you're ready to get the exact plan & resources for implementing each of these steps & growing your run coaching business in 2025, as well as direct feedback and coaching from me, consider joining the Runner Rising Academy.
Our next group begins in January and if you get your name on the waitlist now, you get access to the current prices before they go up. Hurry, there are only 10 spots per group so that we can make this an intimate experience and you can get the coaching from me that you need to make sure you're getting your marketing right.

Good news - someone asked about your run coaching! You either got an e-mail, a private message, or someone filled out a form on your website and they may want to hire you!
But now what?
If you're likely to say something like "I give you a custom schedule & you can text me and it costs $150/month, does that sound good?" then you really need to listen to this episode!
On this episode I cover:
What to say to someone when they want more information on your run coaching. What NOT to say to someone when they want more information on your run coaching. How to transition a conversation to a discovery call. Questions to ask in a conversation or on a discovery call. When to bring up the price of your run coaching. What to say if someone is not a good fit for your coaching. Now you know what to say when you get a lead, but how do you get more leads for your run coaching business?
That's what I teach you in the Runner Rising Academy, the only business growth program for run coaches.
If you're ready to find more run coaching clients in 2025, don't miss out on the Runner Rising Academy January cohort.
Pre-enrollment opens December 9th at a discounted price for those on the waitlist. To learn more and set up a call, go to https://runnerrising.com/runner-rising-academy-group-program/

This is a fun one where I hope you'll feel like you're on a long run with two runners & business owners!
On this episode of the Runner Rising podcast, I talk with my friend Tess Chupinsky: runner, homeschooling mom of 4, owner of Run My Life Journal.
Tess and I discuss the decision to become a small business owner & how she came up with the Run My Life Journal. We talk about timing of starting & growing a business as it relates to the age of your children and other lifestyle factors. And if you’re curious about what it’s like to create and sell a physical product, we go into some of the pros and cons of that type of business.
Last - Tess’s Instagram account was hacked earlier this year and she was sable to grow her new account to over 16,000 followers already! We talk about her approach in growing the account (and how NOT to get your account hacked).
If you're someone who wants to grow a business in the running space AND be home with your kids, I think you'll appreciate this candidness in this episode.
You can connect with Tess on her running account https://www.instagram.com/tesschupinsky/ or her journal account https://www.instagram.com/tesschupinsky/

Reels are the BEST way for run coaches to reach new runners on Instagram. With reels, you can reach thousands and even millions more people than follow you with one reel. Yet reels can feel confusing, overwhelming and frustrating at times, right!?
You can spend a lot of time on a reel only for it to....flop. It can feel like no one cares and that hurts! I get it - I used to resist reels and feel like I really sucked at them (I HATE lip syncing and dancing).
The good news is, there ARE strategies to getting better at making reels that reach more of runners & bring more of your ideal athlete to your page. I'll even give you the proof based on my new instagram account which has allowed me to reach 400X more people than follow me.
In this episode, I cover 3 reasons why your reels aren't getting many views and how to change that!

I've paid 4 different run coaches this year to help me with aspects of my running - let's pretend we're on a long run together and I'm telling you why!
On this more off the cuff & real talk episode, I talk about why I hired each of these coaches in my quest to break through a plateau and finally get to the start line of the Boston Marathon, a 12 year in the making goal.
The goal of this podcast is for you to get an inside look at the decision making process of a real athlete and to help you apply YOUR unique coaching offer. Plus, I just think it's interesting to hear the inside scoop on someone's buying habits & hear which coaches they hired (I DO name them!).
You'll learn the things I cared about the most when hiring a coach, why price ultimately was not a limiting factor, and what was the "tipping point" to get me to hire them. I also include a short rant on why I don't believe in result guarantees in coaching.
PS If you were interested in working with Paul at the Balanced Runner or referring him to any of your athletes, go to https://www.tbrunner.com/ & use code Fitnessfatale for 25% off first month for the TBR membership.

As with running, there are A LOT of things that go into running a successful run coaching business. It can be hard at times to know where to focus your time.
On this episode of the Runner Rising Podcast, I help run coaches do a self assessment to determine where you may need to spend time and/or resources to improve.
The truth is, most people tend to spend the most time on the things they enjoy and are easy in their business. When you can get a clear picture of ALL the required pieces of the puzzle that you need to grow, and start to fill in the gaps, you can start making significant progress.
On this episode you will learn about and rate yourself on 7 components of a successful run coaching business:
1. Audience Size
2. Audience Fit
3. Messaging
4. Offer Strength
5. Sales Skills
6. Pricing
7. Coaching
If you found value in this episode, I would love for you to give the podcast a 5 star review and/or share it with your run coaching friends or community members. Thank you!

Does it feel scary to choose a niche in your run coaching business? Like maybe you're leaving runners out when you narrow down who you work with and how you market yourself online?
On this episode of the Runner Rising Academy podcast, I interview a recent graduate of the Runner Rising Academy, Dafne Valle. Dafne joined RRA just 1 month after completing her RRCA run coach certification. She had no idea where to start, was hesitant to share photos of herself on social media, and was not planning to niche down.
However, within 1 month of joining RRCA, she not only chose a niche but got her first 3 clients by specializing in Run Disney races.
During this interview, we discuss how to choose a niche, why it can feel scary to decide to help just one type of runner (and why you will still get clients outside of your niche anyway!), and more.
Dafne also shares her experience in the Runner Rising Academy, sharing that she feels the program helped her learn more in 3 months than she likely would have in years on her own.
The September Cohort of the Runner Rising Academy, the only business growth program for Run Coaches, is now enrolling! This 3 month small group program will help you create a marketing system to help you bring in new run coaching clients month after month. You will get trainings & resources AND individual feedback and support in this small group environment and make powerful connections with other motivated run coaches.
You can save $500 when you join by Monday, September 16th at midnight and enrollment officially closes on September 19th at midnight. To learn more & enroll , go to https://runnerrising.com/runner-rising-academy-group-program/

What does it take to be a successful run coach?
On this episode, I share the some honest realities of building a run coaching business. I start with a helpful analogy that will hopefully give you some perspective if you feel like you're working hard but not seeing the level of success you want yet. Or maybe it'll be a wake up call to why you aren't having success at all.
I'll answer questions like:
How long does it take to see success as a run coach?
What does progress feel and look like as you build you run coaching business?
How do you handle setbacks or disappointing feedback from a coaching client?
How do you improve and what should you focus on?
What kind of systems do successful run coaches have for their business?
How many of the qualities do you have? Where do you need to put in the work? And do you just need to be more patient?

Do your palms get sweaty when you think about selling your run coaching services? Do you avoid marketing yourself on social media or telling people that you're looking for new clients because you don't want to look "salesey?"
