On this week's episode of Rising Giants, we are joined by the Director of realestate.com.kh. Tom O'Sullivan. Tom recounts his journey of moving to Cambodia in 2013, initially to help start a social enterprise training restaurant. He later ventured into the real estate industry in Phnom Penh, joining a group that started their first real estate portal out of Papua New Guinea before setting up realestate.com.kh in Cambodia, having since expanded in Bangladesh, Indonesia and the Philippines.
Tom also discusses the evolution of their business model to include transaction-based revenue and emphasizes the significance of trust and education in building customer loyalty in Cambodia. He also highlights the rapid growth of DCG (Digital Classifieds Group), their expansion into multiple markets, and their long-term vision, which includes potential mergers, acquisitions, and a possible exit by 2025.
