I am celebrating my 20th wedding anniversary with Calvin today!
We recorded this video on YouTube awhile back and thought it would be a fitting video for today's podcast.
The audio isn't as good as our new videos since we had older mics at the time and sorry for the slight background music 😬 We were still learning in this stage of our production skills...BUT I think you will enjoy this video and learn some English phrases.

Here one of the most UNIQUE accents of English in the USA, the YOOPER accent from my very own DAD, Tom!
The Yooper accent comes from the upper peninsula of Michigan and has influence from many of the Scandinavian descendants that settled in the area.
In this intermediate English conversation, we talk about life in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The USA is a big and diverse country with many accents. The yooper accent is unique but is similar to what you may hear in the midwest of the USA.
What do you think of the yooper accent? Is it hard to understand?
