(00:00) Tom Brady's Remarkable Work Ethic

This chapter, I discuss my recent viewing of "The Dynasty," a show highlighting the New England Patriots' era under Bill Belichick and Tom Brady. Despite not being a football enthusiast, the series left me feeling energized and even turning into a Tom Brady fan, admiring his evolution both in skill and appearance over the years. Edward and I debate our preferences in television, touching on slow-burn series and the importance of giving shows a chance to develop. I recount a debate with my friend Marcella, a Broncos fan, about the significance of Tom Brady's journey from an overlooked college player to a six-time Super Bowl champion with the Patriots and how his story can inspire anyone facing adversity. We also reflect on Brady's confidence and the pivotal moment when he assured Belichick he was the best decision the Patriots would ever make.

Drawing from personal experiences and the analogy of a bakery thriving amidst the pandemic, we underscore how adaptability can transform challenges into opportunities for growth and success.

  • Navigating the complexities of love and dating in 2024, our guest shares tales that resonate with anyone swiping right in search of connection. We expose the often-unspoken truths of sexual dynamics and delve into how honesty—or the lack thereof—in self-reported data tells a different story than the one we're used to hearing. Gender insecurities, the intricacies of online dating, and the impact of personal stories all come under the microscope, revealing the courage it takes to be authentic in the search for love. It's not just about finding 'the one'; it's about the insightful and sometimes hilarious journey that gets us there.

Lastly, we turn inward, reflecting on the pillars that make or break relationships: personal growth, respect, and communication. Through heartfelt anecdotes and the wisdom of experts, we dig into what it means to be an attractive partner beyond the superficial. It's a candid look at the importance of making oneself an asset in a relationship, and the non-negotiable qualities that lead to a lasting, flourishing partnership. Whether you're an empty nester rediscovering love or someone still hunting for that special someone, this episode holds nuggets of wisdom for every stage of the relationship journey.

(00:01) Wedding Gifts and Social Norms

This chapter we explore the controversial topic of a wedding invitation that went viral due to the couple asking guests to pay for their own meal instead of bringing traditional gifts. We discuss the various opinions on whether this approach is tacky or practical, considering the social expectations tied to wedding etiquette. We debate the personal feelings that come with such an invitation, the financial implications for the guests, and whether or not this could become an acceptable trend. We also consider how this payment request could affect the decision to attend the wedding and the potential impact on gift-giving norms. The discussion highlights differing viewpoints on the value of presence versus presents at a wedding celebration.

    (08:52) Relationships, Lies, and Data

This chapter kicks off with a lively discussion about the value of meet and greets, specifically pondering the rationale behind paying $10,000 for a chance to meet a celebrity from OnlyFans. We then transition into the intriguing world of relationships and sexual dynamics among married couples, where I share surprising statistics about the frequency of oral sex. The conversation gets even more interesting as we touch on the topic of honesty in self-reporting sexual habits and preferences, referencing the book "Everybody Lies" and how big data reveals our true behaviors, contrasting with what we claim on surveys. I also bring up some of the most common insecurities among men and women, gleaned from internet search trends, which opens up a candid discussion about gender-specific concerns in sexual relationships.

    (17:41) Dating in 2024

This chapter opens with a lighthearted look at the modern dating scene, as I share anecdotes from a dinner with friends about the fears and realities of online dating. We discuss how my experience as a bakery owner has shown me the success stories of couples meeting online, challenging the skepticism of my single friend. The conversation turns to the practicality of using interview techniques to screen potential partners, emphasizing the importance of situational questions to reveal true character traits. We touch on the viral story of a woman's TikTok series detailing her marriage to a narcissist, pondering the impact of sharing personal stories online and the subsequent community reactions, including feelings of bravery, shame, and solidarity among listeners with similar experiences. The discussion encapsulates the complexity of relationships in today's digital age, the potential for deception, and the need for discernment in pursuit of genuine connections.

(30:38) Navigating Communication and Conflict in Relationships

This chapter focuses on a fresh approach to dating, where I suggest using direct questions to uncover compatibility with a potential partner more efficiently. We explore the idea of treating a date like an interview, humorously presenting a list of questions that can reveal deeper values such as the importance of compromise, communication, and handling conflict. I share anecdotes to illustrate how responses to these questions can be red flags or signs of a good match. We emphasize the importance of respect and self-control in relationships, considering how vengeful communication can harm the connection between partners. The chapter wraps up by highlighting that understanding a person's true character and their approach to problem-solving is crucial in determining the potential success of a relationship.

(43:16) Relationship Perspectives and Deal Breakers

This chapter finds us reflecting on the richness of life as empty nesters and how our relationship has flourished to its strongest point yet, making the thought of loss unbearable. We explore the pivotal role of communication and respect in sustaining this bond, and why these, alongside personal growth, are our top priorities in a partnership. Touching on the complexities of intimacy, we candidly discuss the importance of sexual compatibility, and whether size really matters in the grand scheme of things. The chapter concludes by contemplating the challenging dynamics men may face with insecurities and how these are navigated within relationships.

(50:37) The Key to Lasting Relationships

This chapter examines the idea that personal growth is key to both finding a soulmate and enhancing existing relationships. We discuss the six dimensions of wellbeing, as recommended by Carol Reif, and how focusing on self-improvement can make one an irreplaceable partner. We touch on the importance of recognizing one's value and contribution to a relationship, and the need to work on becoming an asset. We also reflect on the transformative power of setting aside distractions like sports and video games in favor of engaging more meaningfully with one's partner. Throughout, we highlight that continuous self-improvement and being thoughtful in actions can lead to a more fulfilling and lasting relationship.

(56:43) Qualities of an Attractive Partner

This chapter explores the importance of maintaining personal effort and presentation in long-term relationships, using my grandmother's transformation before my grandfather's arrival as a springboard for discussing why it matters to make an effort for our partners. I reflect on the idea that this practice isn't about outdated gender roles but about mutual respect and desire. We then turn to the six attributes identified by psychologist Carol Reif that make someone an asset in a relationship, including self-acceptance, personal growth, having a purpose, mastering one's environment, autonomy, and positive relationships with others. These attributes resonate with us as indicators of a well-rounded, attractive partner. Additionally, we touch on the significance of how someone treats others, such as service staff or the homeless, as a measure of character and a potential red flag in relationships.

    (01:02:28) Signs of Healthy Relationships

This chapter opens with a personal anecdote about recognizing red flags in relationships, highlighting the importance of humility and respect for others, regardless of one's status or possessions. We explore the essential qualities needed for positive, healthy relationships, including treatment of others, maintaining warm connections, showing empathy, and the ability to be affectionate and understanding. Additionally, I emphasize the concept of making oneself an asset in relationships and the value of situational interview questions during dates to ensure compatibility. The conversation also touches on the significance of sexual compatibility, with a candid mention of the relevance of size. The overall message is clear: personal growth and mutual respect are key to leveling up in relationships.

  • When a listener wrote in about her husband's battle with erectile dysfunction, it cast a new light on the silent struggles many couples face with men's health as age creeps in. Our latest episode is a candid conversation that delves into the complexities of men's sexual and hormonal health. We share touching stories from our listeners and discuss how empathy and open dialogue can strengthen relationships and provide support during these challenging times. We also unpack the effects of testosterone on both physical and emotional well-being, dissecting how lifestyle choices can influence hormonal balance.

Navigating the murky waters of low testosterone and its ripple effects on intimacy, self-esteem, and overall health, we highlight the significance of a holistic approach to men's aging issues. Without pointing fingers at fad diets or exercise trends, we reveal the profound impact of weight training on testosterone production and the hidden dangers of quick fixes like steroid use. This episode isn't just about the problems; it's about understanding the interconnectedness of our lifestyle choices and our health, and the importance of medically supervised hormone replacement therapy when necessary.

As parents, we have a unique opportunity to lead by example, showing our kids the importance of fitness and nutrition—not just for aesthetics, but for long-term health and happiness. Our discussion emphasizes the profound benefits of prioritizing internal health over external beauty, and we share anecdotal evidence from our own lives that underscore this point. Finally, we extend an invitation to all couples to join the conversation and prioritize health within your own relationships, because sometimes, the most critical step toward a healthier life is the willingness to talk about it.

(00:00) Navigating Men's Health and Aging

This chapter we tackle the sensitive topic of aging and its effects on men's sexual health, a natural follow-up to our previous discussion on women's hormones and menopause. We share insights from our research into erectile dysfunction, as well as the broader implications on relationships and self-esteem. We highlight a personal story from a listener, who through empathy and communication, navigated the challenges of her husband's erectile difficulties, emphasizing the power of open dialogue in a relationship. Our conversation underscores the importance of understanding and supporting our partners through physical changes and encourages a non-judgmental approach to sensitive health issues.

(07:41) Understanding Low Testosterone and Its Effects

This chapter addresses the common issue of low testosterone in men, its symptoms, and the broader impact on relationships and personal well-being. We talk about how Western medicine often focuses on treating symptoms, like erectile dysfunction, rather than the underlying causes of low testosterone. I highlight the importance of understanding the body's capacity to recover with proper care and prevention methods. We also touch upon how women may internalize their partner's lack of interest in intimacy, which can lead to relationship struggles and miscommunication. The chapter further explores the role of diet, exercise, and lifestyle in the onset of low testosterone, noting that men's testosterone levels typically begin to decrease after age 30. Additionally, we discuss how men's health issues are often undetected and undiagnosed, emphasizing the need for greater awareness and open communication about these sensitive topics.

(16:11) Factors Affecting Testosterone Levels in Men

This chapter focuses on the impact of lifestyle choices on testosterone levels and the broader implications beyond erectile dysfunction. We discuss how poor diet, particularly high in processed sugars, can disrupt the production of testosterone and the importance of exercise, emphasizing resistance and weight training over excessive cardio. We explore the correlation between muscle mass and testosterone, debunking the myth that weightlifting leads to excessive bulkiness, especially in women. I share insights on how both men and women can boost their testosterone through specific types of physical activity and the potential negative effects of inactivity and poor dietary habits on hormonal health.

(28:27) The Risks of Steroid Use

This chapter addresses the serious issue of steroid use versus natural testosterone production and its implications for men's health. I clarify the misconceptions surrounding steroid use, highlighting the stark differences between synthetic anabolic steroids and the body's natural hormonal balance. We discuss the severe health risks associated with steroid abuse, including liver damage, cardiovascular issues, psychological effects, hormonal imbalance, and infertility. We then transition to the importance of natural methods and medically supervised hormone replacement therapy, emphasizing a tailored approach to individual needs for better outcomes and minimal risk. The conversation also covers the broad spectrum of adverse effects caused by low testosterone, such as mood disorders, fatigue, muscle and strength loss, decreased bone density, and more. We emphasize the need for an active, healthy lifestyle to mitigate the natural decline of testosterone with age and to maintain overall health and vitality.

    (32:59) Maintaining Testosterone Levels Naturally

This chapter tackles the struggle of aging and the associated physical and mental decline, highlighting the frustration of not being able to live with the same vitality as in one's youth. We discuss the importance of maintaining an active lifestyle to preserve health and prevent cognitive decline, with a focus on practical tips to boost testosterone levels naturally. I share insights on the benefits of vitamin D from sun exposure, including an unconventional tip about sunbathing for improved testosterone. We emphasize the importance of exercise, particularly compound lifts, for testosterone production and provide guidance on starting resistance training safely. Additionally, we cover the role of diet in supporting testosterone, stressing the inclusion of healthy fats and zinc-rich foods. Finally, we touch on the significance of reducing stress, getting adequate sleep, and minimizing alcohol consumption to maintain overall well-being and hormonal balance.

(46:52) Setting a Healthy Example for Kids

This chapter focuses on the importance of parents maintaining their own health and fitness as a model for their children. We discuss the inevitable judgment people face regarding their health choices and the critical role parents play in shaping their children's attitudes towards fitness and nutrition. Acknowledging the challenges parents face in balancing their time, we stress the need for a plan to prioritize health, which not only benefits personal well-being but also sets a positive example for the kids. We share our personal experiences in establishing fitness routines, introducing our children to the gym, and incorporating activities like using kettlebells, yoga, and cycling to instill healthy habits from a young age. Our conversation underlines the long-term impact of parental behavior on children's confidence, lifestyle choices, and the ability to maintain a healthy weight into adulthood.

(51:54) Prioritize Internal Health Over External Beauty

This chapter emphasizes the importance of focusing on internal health rather than just external appearances. I share personal reflections on the significance of exercise, proper nutrition, and hormone health as part of a holistic approach to wellness. The conversation highlights the tendency to invest in superficial beauty enhancements like Botox and manicures, and contrasts this with the more substantial benefits of addressing internal health issues. I stress the value of prioritizing health, not just for immediate benefits but for long-term quality of life, touching on my own experience with expensive hormone therapy and the decision to invest in my well-being. The key takeaway is the metaphor of not putting "lipstick on a pig," encouraging listeners to nurture their inner health rather than masking issues with cosmetic fixes.

    (55:13) Prioritizing Health in Relationships

This chapter we explore the importance of investing in our health as a way to improve our overall well-being and potentially save our relationships. We touch on the benefits of spending money on activities like going to the gym, getting facials, and even the more unconventional idea of tanning your balls. Recognizing the impact of hormonal changes on our relationships, we suggest getting hormones checked and promise to bring experts to discuss this further in future episodes. We also stress the significance of communication with partners and encourage sharing educational episodes like this one, as well as those on vaginal health and erectile dysfunction, with friends and family. By informing each other, we aim to lead healthier, happier lives. I remind listeners to send in comments or emails, with details provided in the show notes, as we sign off with encouragement to take charge of your health transformation.

  • We weave through personal stories and the often-unspoken truths of women's health, tackling the complexities of menopause and the way these changes ripple through our lives. From empty nesters striving to maintain vitality to understanding how menstrual cycles impact decision-making, we open the door to a dialogue that's long overdue.

Our journey doesn't stop at women's experiences; it extends to men's roles in supporting their partners and even their own hormonal transitions. We challenge stigmas by addressing the decision-making behind vasectomies and explore how male fertility and masculinity are intertwined in societal misconceptions. With candid anecdotes, we highlight the power of mutual understanding and the critical nature of self-advocacy in navigating the healthcare system, especially when it comes to conditions like heavy menstrual bleeding and the road to a hysterectomy.

As we wrap up our discussion, we delve into the neglected reproductive rights of women, contrasting them with healthcare protections for men, and emphasize the profound toll menopause can take—emotionally and physically. We're not shying away from the taboo topics like 'manopause' and its universal impacts, including mood swings and decreased bone density. By lifting the veil on these issues, our hope is to empower our listeners to take control of their health and contribute to a more understanding and supportive community. Join us for this enlightening conversation that's sure to spark important conversations and maybe even ignite a push for change.

(00:00) Exploring Women's Hormonal Changes and Menopause

This chapter, we explore the complexities and curiosities surrounding aging, specifically focusing on hormonal changes and their impact on both men and women as they reach their 40s. We share our own journey as empty nesters looking to maintain our health and vitality during the second half of our lives, and touch on societal attitudes towards aging in America compared to other cultures. We also examine the importance of understanding women's menstrual cycles and the implications it has on everyday life, including sexual intimacy, decision-making, and communication. Our conversation sheds light on the gaps in education regarding these natural bodily processes and emphasizes the need for open dialogue, as I recount a personal story that highlights the lack of information and the resulting confusion and misconceptions about puberty and periods.

(07:30) Hormonal Changes and Vasectomy Perspectives

This chapter explores the often vague and secretive nature of conversations about women's health, specifically the transition into menopause, and why it's important for men to be involved and informed about these changes. I discuss my own experiences with menstruation and how it contrasts with others, such as my sister's severe cramps, highlighting the need for better support for young girls. We also talk about the impact of hormones on both women and men, and the importance of not facing health issues in isolation within a relationship. Additionally, we touch on the topic of vasectomies as a responsible choice for family planning, addressing the stigmas and misconceptions surrounding male fertility and masculinity. Throughout, I emphasize the importance of mutual understanding and support between partners when it comes to health and well-being.

(14:02) Advocating for Yourself in Menopause

This chapter unpacks the importance of self-advocacy in healthcare, particularly in women's health issues. I share my personal journey through years of heavy menstrual bleeding and the lack of satisfactory medical explanations, highlighting the frustration with treatments like the D&C procedure and the eventual recommendation for a hysterectomy. I emphasize the necessity of asking questions and challenging doctors, underscoring the notion that medical professionals are constantly learning and may not hold all the answers. We touch on the decision to keep my ovaries during the hysterectomy to avoid premature menopause, only to experience unexpected symptoms later, possibly triggered by a phenomenon where women's menstrual cycles sync up. I conclude by considering the onset of menopausal symptoms at an age considered younger than average, further stressing the need for greater understanding and advocacy in women's health.

(26:30) Hormones and Women's Health Impact

This chapter addresses the significant impact of hormonal changes on women's health, particularly the overlooked symptoms and consequences of early menopause. We discuss the correlation between hormone imbalances and various conditions such as osteoporosis, Alzheimer's, and brain fog. The conversation emphasizes the importance of awareness and early detection, especially for high-achieving women in their 20s and 30s, who may face severe challenges during menopause in their 40s. We explore how these hormonal issues can affect personal identity and relationships, highlighting the need for better medical diagnosis and increased funding for women's health research. The chapter also touches on the emotional strain of symptoms like vaginal dryness and the societal tendency to dismiss or underestimate the severity of these issues, underscoring the importance of advocacy and research in understanding and addressing women's health concerns.

(31:32) The Neglected Reproductive Rights of Women

This chapter tackles the disparity in healthcare laws that protect men's reproductive rights compared to the lack of similar laws for women, particularly focusing on the treatment for erectile dysfunction versus the challenges of menopause. I discuss the emotional and physical toll of menopause on women, highlighting the high rate of female suicide linked to this life stage and the societal normalization of dismissing women's hormonal struggles. We touch on the need for advocacy and better healthcare support for women, drawing parallels with the importance of hormone therapy for both men and women, especially as it relates to libido, energy levels, and overall well-being. Additionally, I cover the often overlooked issue of male hormonal changes, sometimes referred to as 'manopause,' and the broad impact of low testosterone on both genders, including mood swings, weight gain, and decreased bone density.

(44:35) The Impact of Menopause on Women

This chapter we explore the significant yet under-discussed impact of hormonal changes on women's health, particularly during menopause, and its correlation with diseases such as Alzheimer's, dementia, and osteoporosis. I discuss the necessity of hormone therapy and the importance of raising awareness about the disproportionate effects these changes have on women compared to men. Highlighting the need for societal and legislative action, we touch on the stigmatization surrounding women's aging and how it hinders open conversations about menopause. Additionally, I share personal anecdotes to emphasize the need for education and dialogue about the 'third puberty' and its implications on women's lives and relationships.

(50:53) Men and Women's Health Awareness

This chapter focuses on the importance of discussing often-ignored health issues that affect both men and women, emphasizing the need for better awareness and support. I highlight that while there may be discomfort in addressing topics like genital health, it is crucial for individuals to be informed and to not dismiss potential health concerns. By fostering an open dialogue and creating a supportive community, I hope listeners feel more comfortable seeking help and taking care of their bodies. Thank you for joining me in this conversation, and remember to take care of yourselves. See you in the next episode.

  • Ever feel like happiness is a puzzle with pieces scattered in a thousand different directions? That's where Janelle and Eddie come in, piecing together the happiness puzzle with insights from Dr. Laurie Santos' renowned Yale course. Our latest episode is a deeply personal journey into the essence of joy, as we discuss why so many people don't feel as fulfilled as they expect, and why the thrill of excitement might just be a misleading guidepost on the road to true contentment.

As we traverse the landscape of well-being, we tackle the tough question of whether happiness is shaped more by circumstance or perception. Sharing stories of personal growth and examining the pitfalls of chasing novelty, we reveal how a deeper appreciation of our own experiences, combined with special moments of wonder, can enhance our lives. Happiness isn't just about what happens to us, it's about how we frame our narrative, and this episode is all about rewriting that story for a richer, more contented life.

Culture, they say, is the lens through which we see the world, and it's no different when it comes to happiness. In an intimate segment, we reflect on the diverse cultural narratives that shape our pursuit of joy, from my own experiences in a duty-first Asian household to the communal values that overshadow personal bliss in many parts of the world. We also explore the interconnectedness of physical well-being and emotional happiness, examining how the simple act of feeling good can cast a broad glow on our overall state of mind. Don't miss this exploration into what happiness could, and perhaps should, mean for you.

  • Listen in as we explore the art of healthy debate and the necessity of understanding different perspectives in our latest conversation. Kicking things off with a lighthearted chat about our favorite fashion finds, we quickly transition to the meatier topic of how to agree to disagree, particularly in the heat of a polarized political climate. We stress the importance of open-mindedness and the enrichment that comes from considering alternate viewpoints. As the presidential election looms, we remind listeners that engaging in respectful discourse is not only essential for a functioning democracy but also for personal growth, regardless of where one stands politically.

In this episode, we also dive into the power of dialogue and intellectual honesty, sharing insights from listening to Tucker Carlson and watching Candice Owens on 'Club Random'. These experiences underline the lost learning opportunities when we too quickly label and dismiss others, rather than approaching their perspectives with curiosity. From debating taboo topics like religion and politics without damaging friendships to confronting societal taboos around death and grief, we dissect how our upbringing influences our beliefs and the importance of exposing our children to a variety of viewpoints for better critical thinking.

Wrapping up our discussion, we tackle the challenges of navigating difficult conversations and the role emotional intelligence plays in conflict resolution. By sharing personal anecdotes and examining triggers like political symbols, we illustrate how to communicate openly and with respect. This episode is a testament to the value of patience, empathy, and the art of apology in fostering understanding over division. So join us, bring your perspectives, and let's connect through meaningful conversations that may just change the way we see the world.

(00:02) Traffic Etiquette and Road Rage

This chapter kicks off the new year with a lively discussion about unexpected events and societal norms, specifically focusing on a recent incident we experienced with a motorcyclist who aggressively closed my car mirror while we were driving in the carpool lane. We question the entitlement of motorcyclists who navigate traffic in ways that other vehicles can't, ponder the fairness of traffic laws that seem to favor them, and consider the broader implications of expecting others to always be aware of your presence. We also touch on the importance of responsible driving and the frustration that arises when someone disregards your space on the road. Join us as we share this personal story and unravel the nuances of road etiquette and safety.

(12:03) Obsession With Music and Crafty Gift-Giving

This chapter kicks off with a rave review of an unexpected piano rendition of Hall & Oates' "Maneater" by the actor who played in "Dear Evan Hansen," leading to an obsession with the song that's taken over our lives and playlists. We also tackle the post-holiday slump and the challenge of packing away decorations, which has been overshadowed by my latest crafting craze. I discuss how my creative spree started with making bracelets and keychains as thoughtful gifts, which quickly turned into a neighborhood-wide endeavor to spread love and joy. Each keychain was personalized to match the neighbor's home color and decor, accompanied by a heartfelt note to ring in the new year with a sense of community and appreciation for our unique neighborhood charm.

(22:18) Reflecting, Setting Goals for Previous Year

This chapter, we reflect on the power of looking back to inform our goals for the new year. I share my personal practice of scrolling through past memories, such as my camera roll, to remember the joys and accomplishments of the year, leading to intentional goal setting for the future. We consider the importance of acknowledging both expected and unexpected achievements, highlighting how reflection can reveal successes we may have overlooked. Additionally, we address the limitations of New Year's resolutions and the preference for setting time-bound goals, emphasizing that while some objectives continue from year to year, it's beneficial to tweak strategies based on past learnings. For instance, I discuss prioritizing fitness and the importance of meal planning to avoid self-sabotage, inspired by insights from a friend's e-book on dieting challenges.

    (32:31) Categories, Goals, and Relationships

This chapter focuses on the significance of categorizing life goals and the impact of goal setting on personal growth and relationships. We examine how health, business, and relationships can serve as distinct categories for setting objectives, and the importance of differentiating between them. The conversation also touches on the personal journey of getting in shape, dealing with external perceptions of weight loss, and the need for mental clarity through exercise. Furthermore, we discuss the role of time management and productivity in achieving goals, as well as the necessity of health and vitality as we age. I highlight the need for including one's partner in health and wellness plans and the small adjustments that can be made for continuous improvement. Finally, we stress the value of setting specific goals for nurturing relationships to prevent them from being neglected amidst personal ambitions.

(44:45) Create New Life, Set Goals

This chapter discusses the idea that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to setting and pursuing life goals. We touch on the differences between how individuals prioritize aspects of their lives, with some needing a multitude of categories to feel fulfilled, while others might focus on just a few. I share insights on how sometimes goals need to be parked for a while and that quitting certain objectives can be positive if it aligns with your current priorities, such as family. We emphasize the importance of intentionality in setting goals and how previous years' experiences inform and prepare us for future endeavors. Moreover, we highlight the practical side of planning, recommending that listeners schedule important personal events and commitments well in advance, ensuring they can create a balanced life where business objectives coexist harmoniously with family time and personal health, ultimately leading to a year one can look forward to with anticipation.

(48:11) The Importance of Setting Clear Goals

This chapter focuses on the significance of setting short-term goals to build the habit of achievement, especially at the start of a new year. I emphasize the importance of having a mission to avoid feelings of frustration and to achieve emotional and mental health. We explore the idea that humans are designed for pursuit and that without it, one might project dissatisfaction onto other areas of their life. Additionally, I discuss the power of clarity in setting goals and how it enables the universe to conspire in one's favor. By getting specific about what you want, whether in finances, relationships, or personal health, you create a pathway for action and change. I encourage listeners to visualize their desired outcomes and take proactive steps to realize them, reinforcing the notion that action shapes mindset and propels us towards our goals.

(55:36) Bracelet Giveaway for 2024 Goal Word

This chapter, we talk about the power of setting an intentional word for the upcoming year and the special giveaway to engage our listeners. We kick things off with a lively debate on hydrogen water—yes, it's a thing—and the lengths we'll go to for health, despite what our taste buds might think. The merriment continues as we reminisce about the hilarity and joy that structured games brought to a recent holiday party, prompting us to reconsider the underestimated value of organized fun.

Our conversation with Jordan takes an engaging turn as we navigate through the quirky waters of cultural language differences. Ever found yourself befuddled by slang on your travels? We sure did. But it's not all about the laughs; we delve deep into the transformative world of Artistic Development. Here, actors and laymen alike are encouraged to challenge perceptions and articulate emotions, a practice that proves invaluable both on stage and in the complexities of everyday life. And don't get us started on the social media rabbit hole—Jordan’s insights on self-awareness and the dark art of comparison are as enlightening as they are timely.

As we wrap up, the theme of self-discovery remains strong. We reflect on the powerful interplay between pain and growth, the intricacies of relationship boundaries, and our quest for meaningful connections. Jordan's fresh take on character redemption in TV land leads us to ponder our own personal epiphanies and the habits that define us. And for the actors out there, we're talking about finding your unique voice amidst the challenge of self-awareness on stage. So whether you’re praying for good weather in LA or sipping tea in London, this episode is guaranteed to stir the pot and maybe even inspire your next holiday conversation.
