In this new episode of Affected by Altitude, Skyler handles the show all by himself as Evan Lang is indisposed with sickness. The Rockies made their first move of the offseason by reportedly acquiring utility infielder Owen Miller from the Milwaukee Brewers for cash considerations. Is he an indication of further Rockies' offseason plans or is he just another depth acquisition the team hopes can contribute in some manner? Skyler then looks over the Rockies' potential free agent targets and wishlist while breaking down The Denver Posts assessment that the Rockies aren't cheap, but spend their money quite foolishly.

In this episode of Every Rockie Ever, Skyler and Dustin reunite to talk about two notable veteran catchers for the Rockies. Yorvit Torrealba etched his name into Rockies lore as the primary catcher in 2007 while carving out a solid career in purple. Despite being a platoon catcher behind Chris Ianneta, Torrealba always made the most of his playing time.
Jonathan Lucroy was a great trade acquisition at the deadline in 2017, immediately impacting a young pitching staff and navigating them to the playoffs. What made him better was that he found some offensive resurgence after the trade, even though the power wasn't there, and made us wish we could have re-signed him.

We wrap things up with some Arizona Fall League talk and the playoffs so far. It's all about the Mets baby lets go Mets love da Mets.

This week, Skyler and Evan discuss the position battles for 2025 that seem to have already started. Top catching prospect Drew Romo hasn't seen the field in 11 days and appears to have been supplanted by Hunter Goodman. What's the reasoning, and can we expect Goodman to start at catcher next year? Meanwhile, when it comes to fourth outfielder, the Rockies need to make a decision between Sam Hilliard and Jake Cave because you can't keep both. Finally, this might be Charlie Blackmon's last week as a Colorado Rockie and maybe as a big league ball player.

This week, Evan and Skyler are joined by Dustin "Mr. T-Spanish" Timmins to discuss the Rockies' problem with strikeouts. The Colorado Rockies are a league leader in strikeouts, and not in a good way as they are on pace to set a franchise high. Should the Rockies just tear off the bandaid and let the $182 million dollar man walk away with the money and what's left of his health? Speaking of Rockies with back issues, what's to be done with Nolan Jones after a difficult 2024? Finally, we wrap things up with a discussion on Zac Veen, who is tantalizingly close to his big league debut.

Now healthy, Rolison has been working out the bullpen in Triple-A as he builds up again and hopefully will finally be able to come full circle and reach the big leagues with the Rockies.

This week, Evan and Skyler discuss the youth movement of the Colorado Rockies as more and more we've been seeing the young guns-from pitchers to position players-get their names penciled into the lineup. There have been a lot of notable players to suit up for the Colorado Rockies. In the past we've talked about players like Michael Cuddyer, Justin Morneau, and Jason Giambi but there are have a been several others that were some definite legends that made a brief stop in Colorado. Skyler and Dustin look back on the Mr. 3000-esque appearance of Dale Murphy, the acquisition of Bret Saberhagen, the unfortunate stint of Roy Oswalt, the sneaky good performance of Kevin Millwood, and round things off with perhaps the most disliked player in Rockies history, Jose Reyes.
