If someone told you they found the 7 predictors of exit velo, would you want to know them? YES. That's exactly what Jarrett Phillips and team discovered.
Jarrett analyzed 250 athletes at his facility across a variety of factors (Proteus test, grip strength, K-VEST sequencing, InBody muscle scan, and OnBaseU mobility assessment) and then ran these data points through a variety of statistical models. Through this analysis they found 7 factors that predict exit velo AND that these 7 factors made up 82% of the variance you see in exit velo.
Curious what these factors are? Listen to the whole podcast to find out.

Curtis Van Wyck made a reputation for himself as being the guy people sent their clients when they didn't know what to do next. Post-PT or lingering injuries, Curtis problem solves for his clients and doesn't try to force each into a one-size-fits-all model. His philosophy to coaching? To see each client like a unique piece of clay that needs a individualized plan in order to mold it, stabilize it, and build it. That's even why he calls his facility "the kiln."
And this philosophy bleeds over into his variety of clientele who come through his doors. From high school athletes seeking collegiate recruitment to older populations looking to regain mobility and prevent injury to rehab patients recovering from major surgery, Curtis has seen it all. He's also quickly become a top user of Proteus since he got in this past year. From testing to freestyle, he adapts Proteus per client need and stays ahead of the game so he can give his clients the best care possible.
--
Husband, father, and a muscle detective is who Curtis is. He has unceasingly pursued his passion in education which has permeated throughout the entirety of his career. Education coupled with his innate desire to help his clients achieve their goals, lends itself to a client-centered approach.Curtis has worked with a wide variety of athletes, but over time has returned to his roots to work with mainly rotational athletes (baseball & softball).

To Josh Reidt, you have to continue to evolve in this business or you're going to die. While it's easy to prescribe a deadlift, it's more beneficial to program the accessory stuff that provides longevity to the athlete. We're talking ankle work, hip work, thoracic work, and scap work - the less flashy work that makes an athlete special. For overhead athletes, this is key. Over the past decade, Josh Reidt has fine tuned his 360 individualized programming to help baseball athletes go from high school to collegiate to pro. Tune into this episode to learn his approach to developing three dimensional athletes, why he only lets his athletes workout barefoot, and how he helps his clients develop #scapgainz.

Interested in how Proteus can fit into the biohacking space? Learn about it from Pam Gold, the owner of NYC's first biohacking fitness studio and an expert in minimum effective dose fitness, integrated (physical, mental and energetic) fitness and biohacking. Over the next 45 minutes, Pam answers:
How do you bring efficient, computerized fitness to the general public? What type of customers are interested in getting a more effective workout in less time? How does Proteus fit into the minimum effective dose fitness program and offer something new to the space? How can this approach to fitness provide longevity in life to the everyday person?
Pamela Gold is the founder of PRTL, formerly HACKD Fitness, that has two locations in NYC as well as an online 12 week program. Pam grew up on her family’s apple farm in upstate New York, graduated from Yale University, and then entered the business world in NYC where she was the point person on an IPO at the age of 24. Pam then spent four years in the fashion business as the right hand to designer entrepreneur Josie Natori.
Leaving the workforce to start a family, she co-founded West Village Parents and, after struggling with weight postpartum, went on to pursue her passion for fitness and wellness. It was through this pursuit that she discovered yoga, which connected her love of philosophy, science, psychology, and wellness and started her meditation practice, which ultimately unlocked an entirely new flow of wisdom and inspiration. She wrote her first book, Find More Strength: 5 Pillars to Unlock Unlimited Power and Happiness in 2 weeks, founded a coaching business and created Peace Power Parenting, an online course to support conscious parenting. In 2018, she was inspired to open HACKD Fitness to share the biohacking fitness tech she was using herself. Forced to close due to COVID, HACKD rebranded to PRTL and pivoted to virtual, launching a holistic fitness and well-being optimization coaching app. Now reopened, PRTL is expanding its NYC presence and Pam is due to release her forthcoming book, Timeless in Less Time: 12 Weeks to Optimized Fitness for Life, in Fall 2022.

What is one of Eric Cressey's biggest observations of the sport performance realm? We simplify things to excess. Instead of crafting programming based on an athlete's specific needs, we take one program and try to make it work for everyone. Through years of training, Cressey has set out to be the opposite of this and even stresses that prioritizing individualization can be your competitive advantage. How does he customize programming per athlete? Well, you'll just have to listen to find out.
