Do you know how to choose a branding agency?

Everyone will remember at least three things from any wedding or event: a really bad speech, the food, and the drinks.
Tap the Coast is a mobile beverage service based in our hometown of Pensacola, Florida. Founded by Dannon Byrd, the idea was born out of the perfectly shaken mix of a well-timed Pinterest photo, a noticeable demand in the region, and a post-pandemic wedding rush. Transitioning from the nonprofit world, Dannon used her connections and fundraising knowledge to start her business in late 2019. She had no industry background. No bartending experience. What she did have was an unwavering passion for events and a drive to make the very first mobile beverage service in Northwest Florida succeed. Leveraging word of mouth marketing, Tap the Coast has quickly risen to a go-to provider of customized beverage menus and service at weddings, corporate gatherings, and fundraising events.
Dannon joined us on the Practical Rebels podcast to talk about the growing success of her business which she attributes to everything from a strong team and a really good CPA. Tune in to learn more about Dannon’s story and how the world of mobile services is taking over events.

Much of entrepreneurship, leadership, and life is learning, listening, and gaining experiences that guide your path. This week’s guest is a perfect example of someone who’s done just that. We were lucky enough to get an exclusive hour with our (very busy) hometown Mayor, @dcreevesmayor.
Our discussion ranged from his beginnings as a sports writer and his professional mentorship through @qdstuder to the lessons learned opening a brewery and his eventual appointment to City of Pensacola’s 64th Mayor. The Mayor attributes Pensacola’s recent and exciting growth to its invigorating entrepreneurial spirit and unwavering commitment to philanthropy mixed with a really good problem to have: people just want to come to Pensacola. As Pensacola’s youngest Mayor in over 100 years, Reeves is driven daily by the excitement of helping local businesses thrive, working to make Pensacola a better place to live for everyone who calls it home and sharing what’s so special about it with the rest of the world.
This is a very special episode that you won’t want to miss! We’re so excited about the growth and future of Pensacola and can’t thank the Mayor enough for taking the time to join us on Practical Rebels. Tune in and stream this episode on your favorite streaming platform or click the link in our bio! 🔗

They say never work with your friends, but we don’t agree with that. Over the years, HatchMark Studio has developed a reputation of being a team that is…a little close. Maybe too close at times. But what we’ve found is that working closely with friends can have a profound impact on workplace happiness and success.
Whether it’s bringing someone on the team you already trust or prioritizing an abundance of transparency throughout every layer of the business, working with friends or allowing yourself to get closer to your coworkers can ensure you’re always on a shared pathway to success. It can even enable you to take risks you wouldn't have otherwise taken knowing your bestie is there to back you up.
This latest episode of Practical Rebels takes a closer look at benefits of nurturing close relationships with coworkers and the potential drawbacks to look out for before they become a problem. We were in our feelings for this one, so you’ll want to tune in so we can share everything we’ve learned during our journey. Now streaming on all of your favorite platforms!

Lights, camera, comedy. 📽️
Chris Jadallah is the owner and director of @filmsbycalliope, a Pensacola-based film company. He turned his childhood passion for film and directing into a business, opening his doors in 2015. A love for film was coupled by Chris’ adoration for comedy. He took his skill behind the lens and developed @kittygetajob, a local sketch comedy troupe that has recently had the support of famous Canadian sketch comedy actor Kevin McDonald from The Kids in the Hall.
Veronique and Ramsey sat down with Chris on this latest episode of the Practical Rebels podcast to talk about everything from film and comedy to the importance of networking in business and having an openness to new ideas as a director. This episode came together for something that is equal parts laugh-out-loud funny and insightful. Whether you’re a fellow creative, business leader, or just someone who enjoys great storytelling, this episode is for you.

Do you need to be advertising on social media? 🤔
The answer is “yes.” But we know it’s not that simple for every business. You need to know how much you should expect to spend, what content needs to be created, and how to know whether or not it’s working.
For better or worse, social media platforms like Meta have switched their business model to encourage content creators to pay for their service. The good news is that you won’t have to spend nearly as much as you may think. However, the days of crossing your fingers and hoping for the best through a purely organic strategy might be slowly but surely coming to an end.
In this latest episode of the Practical Rebels podcast, Veronique and Ramsey dive into the world of social media advertising. They discuss how much you should spend, which content is performing the best, and how to optimize your marketing strategy to reach beyond social media.

“The human game is a team sport.”
That’s what Destyn Patera, owner of @lenseafilm, says. We spoke with him about building a film agency from the ground up, how putting people before profits shaped their growth, pushing the boundaries with a team, finding the perfect fit for a client, and a whole lot more. Destyn’s people-first philosophy of business and quest to surround himself with friends who challenge him daily has led to success for his agency on both a local and national stage. More recently, the Lensea Film team found themselves in a production support role on the all-new @usnavyblueangels IMAX feature film with J.J. Abrams and Glen Powell, an honor that Destyn attributes to prioritizing human connections in a technical industry.
We’ve been lucky to call the team at Lensea Film partners and friends for years now, so this episode is near and dear to our hearts as our shared passion for excellence and camaraderie permeates every project on which we collaborate. Tune into this special 18th episode of Practical Rebels for an insightful journey into taking risks and daring to do what you love for a living.

It's said that necessity is the mother of invention, and we've seen no greater example of that than what Bryant (B.B.) Liggett has built with The Fertility Resort.
With 15 years in the marketing world, B.B.'s experience spans food and beverage, beauty, healthcare, and media production. She has built a career and name through her expertise in social media strategy, brand management, digital marketing, and small business coaching.
In 2020, at the height of collective uncertainty and a worldwide pandemic, B.B. experienced her second pregnancy loss and was thrown into a world that a shocking one in four women experience...infertility.
Through her firsthand experience with glaring gaps in the healthcare system for patient support, information, and the absence of a place for women to gain and share perspectives, she launched The Fertility Resort alongside Dr. Erin Taliaferro-Attaway.
In this week's episode, we talk through the process of building a business to support those going through some of their most painful, challenging, and unpredictable journeys. Don't miss this one.
