As Pour Another Round preps for our 3rd Annual Pour Another Round Outdoor Winter Beer Fest, Derrick and Jonathan had a chance to visit brew day at both Karben4 Brewing in Madison, WI and MoonRidge Brewing Company in Cornell, WI.
Joe from Karben4 worked us hard as we brewed a Maple Scottish Ale that will be poured for guests at the Beer Fest! Derrick has decided he'll stick to drinking the beer and isn't going into brewing professionally any time soon.
At MoonRidge, we were excited to hear from Nick what beers he's prepping for the Beer Fest. If you're in the Cornell area, MoonRidge has bus tickets for sale to hitch a ride to the Pour Another Round Beer Fest in Green Bay! Tickets include MoonRidge beer on bus, event admission ticket (priced at $40), tip for driver.
Grab a beer, settle in and pour another round with us and these two fantastic Wisconsin breweries!
Cheers!

Pour Another Round is back in Brussels, Belgium, visiting with Julien at WOLF Sharing Food Market and the microbrewery that exists there. Surrounded by a more upscale food court of sorts, the beer is brewed on-site, only 31 meters - about 101 feet for us American folk - from the bar where it's being poured.
While our tastebuds were drooling over the 17 different restaurant options, our conversation is still all about the beer that Julien is brewing at WOLF!
With WOLF's micro setup, they bring you the benefits of high-quality craft beers available only at WOLF, more environmentally friendly consumption, more sharing with customers and better control over purchases and products.
WOLF has a partnership with Belgoo Brewery, a craft brewery specialising in high fermentation and organic beers, and a handful of their beers are also available at WOLF.
Santé.

Pour Another Round heads across the pond and visits with Yvan from Brasserie de la Senne in Brussels, Belgium. Yvan is a passionate brewer and brewery owner and brings you the Brussels People's Beer!
In our very first episode from Belgium, Yvan talks with us about quality and the desire to always do better. From the beginning, Brasserie de la Senne has brewed bitter beers - bitterness is the key characteristic of their beers. Why? They wanted to brew beers to their liking that could no longer be found on the market.
You'll also find really solid low alcohol beers at Brasserie de la Senne (no N/As though!). The Taras Boulba (4.5%) is “the” beer for quenching your thirst and you still get amazing flavor!
Brasserie de la Senne takes great pride in being a local brewery and focused on the Brussels region through and through. Exports are limited, however, their beers are available in a dozen countries, with a leading presence in the United States, Italy and Japan.

Curtis Basina, owner and founder of the first Native American-owned distillery in the country, joins Derrick and Jonathan on the show!
In the northern coastal town of Bayfield, Wisconsin, an impressive black building is nestled into the pines surrounded by the lands of the Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Chippewa, and the location of Copper Crow Distillery. Owned by Linda and Curtis Basina, Copper Crow began production in 2017 and now has a tasting room slinging cocktails and selling bottles of their spirits. They've partnered with many local producers to make some of their more unique craft spirits, like an apple brandy made with fruit from Bayfield's many orchards and whey-based vodka and gin.
Tours and tastings are offered, and encouraged!

Founded in 2010, Josh Deth dreamt up the idea for Revolution Brewing while working at Goose Island as a cellarman and brewpub brewer and finding that there was a lot to be explored in the brewery and beer scene yet. This was the late 90's and early 2000's after all!
Josh (Chairman of the Party), Jim Cibak (Brewmaster) and Marty Scott (Barrel Program Manager) join Derrick and Jonathan as we dive into how Revolution has gone from a modest brewpub in Logan Square to a brewing powerhouse with a wide distribution network.
Revolution currently distributes in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Ohio, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Nashville, New Jersey, New York City, and Wisconsin if you're wondering!
In this episode, we talk Revolution's origins, its commitment to innovative and high-quality beers and its impact on the local community.
In 2017, Revolution Brewing became the 40th largest craft brewery and 50th largest overall brewery in the country according to the Brewers Association Top 50 Brewing Companies by Sales Volume.

Did you know that inside American Family Field (formerly Miller Park) in Milwaukee is a pilot brewery for the Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Company? Derrick, Jonathan AND Cameron headed to the J. Leinenkugel Barrel Yard to hang out with Katie Leinenkugel - sixth generation of the Leinenkugel family to be part of the iconic Wisconsin brewery - and Pilot Brewer, Corrine Georges - the mastermind behind the brews unique to Barrel Yard.
As we overlooked the Brewers playing field inside this historic stadium, Corrine and Katie walked us through a tasting of the pilot beers available only at Barrel Yard in addition to the many iconic Leinenkugel's brews available too.
Head to the J. Leinenkugel Barrel Yard during a Milwaukee Brewers game or on a non-game day, grab yourself a cold one and take a look at their delicious food menu, serving up unique spins on some traditional Wisconsin dishes.

Nick and Andrew may not have founded Moonridge Brewing Company, but they know success when they see it! In 2023, these guys took over the brewery and pizza joint (mmm Zaaaaa!) from Roger and Cindy Miller and continued to build on what the Millers started.

United by their shared military backgrounds— Nick, a US Air Force combat veteran, and Andrew, a US Army infantry combat veteran—they are dedicated to supporting fellow veterans and the environment through sustainable practices.

Niko Tonks from Yakima Chief Hops was in town and sat down with Derrick and Jonathan at Karben4 in Madison, WI to talk about the hop supplier, the process of hop selection and how they work with breweries around the globe. Yakima Chief is 100% grower owned.
Yakima Chief is primarily American hops, owned by American hop growers, but they work with hop growers all over the world to produce 35-40% of the domestic hop crop. This equals 30 to 40 million pounds of hops a year!
Check out this episode as we take you to one of the beginning steps of producing good beer. Cheers!
