Halloween is seen as a classic that set up 25 (?) more films to follow, and set a new foundation for horror films from that point onwards! The prestige of this film is sometimes overcome by the "hokeyness" of the scenes, and some plot devices not quite working as we expect. Surely home owners in middle America would open their door to a screaming teenager... right?

Nevertheless, Tommy and DL had a great time with the first appearance of the "Michael Myers" character, and how this film generated ridiculous sums of money on a low budget while also setting up the rest of the industry for decades to follow.

Could you walk past Jamie Lee Curtis as a teenager? How was your "fear-o-meter" tuned for this film? How many children have terrified you enough to inspire a film? Let us know by contacting us at [email protected] or hitting us up on socials, and we'll give you a shout-out on the pod!

In tribute to Tarantino and Bonnie & Clyde, "Wolfs" includes Brad Pitt and George Clooney as competing Fixers in New York City, brought together through less than likely circumstances and them grumbling all the way. Tommy and DL weren't grumbling! In fact, they could out a podcast or two for saying this movie is terrible...

It turned out great, as a delightful straight-to-streaming romp with some big names, and they try as hard as they can not to mentioned the *ahem*.... Brad Pitt thing!

Joker: Folie à Deux - the anticipated follow-up to Jaoquin Phoenix's Joker from 2019 seems to have fallen flat, and the lads think so too! Their interest was piqued by the idea of building on the character into a broader Batman/Gotham universe, but discovered a musical with an on-brand Gaga as Harley Quinn.

While Tommy and DL seemed to enjoy the watching experience, I think they now understand why the collective opinion seems to be that it's a waste of time and money...

    Main Topic:

Eric is back with The Crow, returning with a fresh coat of paint, a trimmed plot line and a helluva lot of violence. DL made good use of the "Brutality-shielding Hat" in this one!

While the director has great intentions, and Bill Skarsgård as the titular character made a credible attempt, it's difficult to say whether Tommy and DL had a good time! The action and violence reminded them of a Constantine-cum-John Wick, while the character motivations left little to be desired. And the lack of good Falafel opportunities was palpable.

The returning rewatching series of Harry Potter films is back with the fourth installment, The Goblet of Fire, presenting several head-scratching issues for Tommy & DL. A beloved book, the lads find that the pace is too fast, the Emo is too much and the amount of content missing from the films compared to the books is harrowing.

Nevertheless, we see young upstart Robert Pattinson get optimal facetime in a graveyard, Daniel Radcliffe's hair takes a turn for the worse, and a stellar one-off cast including Brendan Gleeson, David Tenant and Ralph Fiennes turns the clear absence of story beats into a somewhat acceptable continuation of a magical high school journey.

If nothing else you should listen in to see IF we can pull off reviewing a book!

For this week's Main Topic we discuss whether the MCU is back (baby)?! 'Deadpool & Wolverine' (2024) is in theaters and this is one which we've been eagerly anticipating - but is Marvel Jesus enough to save the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, we're talking Non-Spoilers and the Spoilers in case you haven't seen it yet...

Join us to find out whether this movie is better or worse than Aquaman 2018, and if the merc with a mouth truly has the juice to save Kevin Feige?

The boys are back on their BS this week, with DL getting to the pointy end of a long proposed move to the UK and Tommy having trouble with real estate agents. We talk what we've been up to including DL getting deeper into the #RedRising series and Tommy thinks #DreamScenario squandered a great premise.

For our Main Topic this week we're diving into yet another rebootuation, with the follow-up to the 1996 whirlwind of a disaster movie Twister, we're talking 'Twisters' (2024). Starring Glen Powell (the king of the rebootuation) and Daisy Edgar-Jones, the movie is blows through old territory, but does it broach any new ground?

Join Podcast Assemble to find out whether this movie is better or worse than Aquaman 2018, and if Disaster movies are back (baby!)?

    Main Topic:

Tommy & DL are back this week to share their excitement of the new announcements: Severance Season 2 is coming on January 17, and Gladiator II on November 15! Which one is the least exciting of the two? Perhaps you'll be disappointed, as DL is more obssessed with the Euros than he should be.

This week's Main Topic is the much anticipated "The Bikeriders (2024)" with Austin Butler, Tom Hardy, Michael Shannon and Jodie Comer: all with star credibility to bring this, initially unappealing, film a sheen to bring it up to the big leagues. From bikes, to accents, to nudity, and then a smattering of tones and themes, this is a Podcast Assemble porterhouse for you to chew on this week.
