    She chose not to tell her employer at the time due to fears of failure, discrimination, and not wanting special treatment. Common misconceptions about the demands of fertility treatment are addressed, such as the myth that it only requires a few doctor visits and is easy to schedule around work. In reality, treatment can involve numerous appointments including monitoring visits, injections that must be timed correctly, and uncertainty in scheduling egg retrieval and embryo transfer dates. Tips for workplaces to support employees undergoing this process are provided, such as raising awareness of these issues, educating managers, implementing flexible policies, and normalising conversation around fertility to create an environment where employees feel comfortable disclosing their experience if they wish.
