We are back with another episode of full of family issues and this time, its an attic full.
This thanksgiving season we are bringing you stories of some very...different...families and we are closing it out with the family to end all families- the Dollanganger/Foxworth family of Flowers In The Attic.
This isn't your average coming of age story. We cover sibilings, mommy issues, poor planning and annoying twin babies.
This book was made into a 1987 film and a 2014 Lifetime movie. We watched the 1987 movie so keep an eye out for a revisited episode for the 2014 version!

We are sailing for adventure on the big blue wet thing!
To close out our "Boys will be boys" month we went treasure hunting with the Robert Louis Stevenson novel Treasure Island. Now, there were plenty of adaptations we could have gone with (including one with Christian Bale!) but lets be real, you know there is only one option for us and it was always going to be Muppet Treasure Island.
We have discussed our muppet love before....but did we love this one?

Heres an episode we think you'll really dig...
Last month was for the girls so we thought it was only fair to do something for the boys so we are kicking off our "Boys will be boys" month with the Louis Sachar classic "Holes"!
Spolier- we loved it. But I don't think we could love the movie as much as Nicole's dog Zuzu does.

The queen is coming!
Rounding out our month of girl power, we have The Princess Diaries - the coming of age story where in the end, you get to be a princess.
This book is short and nothing like the movie and no, the sequles to the book are not the same as the Princess Diaries 2 with Julie Andrews mattress surfing, but we get the best line reads ever from Sandra Oh, so we consider that a win.

This week we kick off our girl power episodes with Legally Blonde, because who else would be better to kick off all that girl power than Elle Woods?
While the movie has all the feel good, "Woman can do it all!" energy, the book....um....its something else.

Welcome back to our month of magical beginnings!
This week we have a story with a ball, a prince, and a pair of glass slippers...but this isn't Cinderella, or is it? We read Ella Enchanted and watched the 2004 movie (happy 20th anniversary) and yes, this is another take on the Cinderella story, but with a little bit more.
This episode was all about magic, Anne Hathaway, and Shrek.
And we also drop a few not so subtle hints about some upcoming page to screen episodes ;)
