The recent release from Ubisoft gained rave reviews, and it's not hard to see why - this might very well be one of the best Metroidvania's ever created! Omega Metroid Social Manager Jules Gia joins to show to talk about the otherworldly platforming, psychological horror story elements, the creative use of time rewinding abilities, the amazing music and original rap songs, the incredible design of the map, and the multitude of things this game does that should instantly become staples in every Metroidvania - including Metroid 6 going forward!

We originally had an Inspired By Metroid game on tap for this week, but we ran into some scheduling issues, so instead of rushing it, we're pushing our show back one week and instead unlocking another ROM Hack Review from the vault! One of the most widely fantasized crossovers in the video game world would be the merging of the Metroid and DOOM universes, so this month for ROM Hack Reviews, Andy plays the crossover game DOOMtroid! Metroid Manga in Review finally returns, and this time, we're examining a beloved cult classic among the Metroid faithful: Samus & Joey Volume 1! This collection introduces us to Joey, a reckless young boy and the self proclaimed "first disciple of Samus Aran" as he meets Samus and embarks in his own heroic adventure! The guys get together and talk about what they liked in the comic, how it has the same breezy qualities as a Saturday morning cartoon, if it was easy enough to follow, what items from the manga would make great additions to a Metroid game, why there's cursing when it goes against the tone, and point out several panels of beautiful artwork!

We're back to continue our journey throughout the series that inspired Metroid, and this time around, we're even more firmly in spinoff territory than we were back in AVP! The sequel to the crossover, Alien vs Predator: Requiem promises more gore, more kills, and more craziness, but at the end of the day, it is a good movie? A hybrid of the two titular races called the Predalien is certainly wrecking havoc, but is it enough to overcome a lot of the technical issues and character problems this movie has? Come hear Andy and Gooey's thoughts on the movie, what works, what doesn't, and why there were no further AVP movies after this one (yet!), despite a fantastic cliffhanger scene! The Alien franchise is about to undergo a makeover, so come and review the last movie of the current Alien era!

It's a bittersweet week for us here at Omega Metroid, as the long suspected but recently confirmed demise of E3 was made official. Instead of being sad that E3 is over, however, the fellas decide to be glad that it happened and take a two hour trip down memory lane reminiscing about Metroid's finest moments at the gaming showcase. From the highest of high's - Ridley debuting in Smash Bros., Reggie's introduction of the DS and Metroid Prime Hunters, Metroid Prime 4's reveal, and the resurrection of Metroid Dread - to the lowest of lows - Federation Force's disastrous reveal, Samus Returns skipping the main show, multiple years of no Metroid to begin E3's life - we glance over it all.
