  • There's nothing better than a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio to wrap up your week and guide you though the never ending pre-season with an hour of Oilers talk.

We kicked off this week's episode of ONR with a delicious debate about whether or not we should be freaking out anything pre-season related. Even though the results don't matter at this stage of the season, there is a small chunk of Oilers fans who are already concerned about the lack of success. Unexpectedly, talking about the pre-season led the guys to argue whether or not the team is actually better than they were last season.

Changing gears, we walked through some of the biggest news stories coming out of training camp. From roster cuts to Friedman speculating that Evander Kane won't miss the entire season, there was plenty of news to talk about from this past week and the squad offered their takes on all of it. Even without much going on, the boys still found reasons to disagree and argue about what's been happening.

Finally, we wrapped up the Friday episode of Oilersnation Radio by answering your questions with another round of Ask the Idiots before diving into Hot and Cold Performers to recap everything that's happened over the last seven days. With the pre-season kickoff just around the corner, the boys had plenty to talk about this week for the first time in forever. Needless to say, this week's episode probably had the most hockey talk that we've had in a while, and it feels good to know that the NHL is almost back for another season.

  • There's nothing better than a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio to wrap up your week and guide you into the pre-season with an hour of Oilers talk mixed with a dose of shenanigans.

We kicked off this week's podcast with a delicious debate about which prospect we were most excited about based on their pre-season results. Whether it was thinking Magnus Paajarvi would be the Answer to Rob Schremp making magic with his stick to thinking Anton Lander would be a future captain, the squad had all kinds of great answers about players they thought were going to be stars. That said, drinking the Kool-Aid on prospects is part of being a fan.

Moving over to training camp, the Oilers kicked off their on-ice sessions earlier this week and that meant plenty of news came out on and off the ice. Most notably, Evander Kane revealed some of the injuries he's been dealing with all summer and what the plan is going forward. And with players like Kane banged up and on the shelf, the Oilers added some depth to their training camp roster with a pair of new PTOs in Mike Hoffman and Jasper Weatherby.

Finally, we wrapped up the Friday episode of Oilersnation Radio by answering your questions with another round of Ask the Idiots before diving into Hot and Cold Performers to recap everything that's happened over the last seven days. • It's Friday afternoon, which means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio has been edited and is ready to massage your ear holes.

We started this week's episode of Oilersnation Radio with a delicious debate about training camp and what we're predicting as the biggest surprise to come out of the warm-up period. Whether it's Vasily Podkolzin winning the Ty Rattie award, Josh Brown securing a spot on the opening day roster, or Travis Dermott securing a contract, the boys were tossing out their boldest takes on what we think will happen in the coming weeks.

Changing gears, we looked at the news from this past week that both Evander Kane and Darnell Nurse will miss the start of training camp (and beyond) due to some injuries they're still working through. Even though we knew that Kane was likely to miss some time, finding out that Nurse will miss some time early is a significant blow to a d-corps that is not exactly the deepest. Sticking with the defence, we also said farewell to Markus Niemelainen after signing a deal to play in Berlin after spending the last six years in the Oilers organization.

Finally, we wrapped up the Friday episode of Oilersnation Radio by answering your questions with another round of Ask the Idiots before diving into Hot and Cold Performers to recap everything that's happened over the last seven days. Even with training camp just around the corner, the boys still managed to yammer on for over an hour about everything in the world of hockey despite nothing happening quite yet.

  • It's Friday afternoon, which means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio has been edited and is ready to massage your ear holes. This week, we're discussing Johnny Gaudreau's loss, Leon Draisaitl's contract extension, and what moves might still come before the season starts.

We started the podcast with a quick tribute to Johnny Gaudreau after the NHL star was tragically killed along with his brother Matthew last weekend as a result of an alleged drunk driving incident. No matter how you look at the story, the details get worse and even sadder the deeper you look.

Changing gears, we got the Oilers talk going with a delicious debate about Leon Draisaitl's eight-year contract extension and whether or not it's too much money, as some other fanbases have suggested. As you'll hear, there is not one person on the podcast who believes Leon Draisaitl is overpaid and actually thinks he could end up as a bargain before the deal is over.

Finally, we wrapped up the Friday episode of Oilersnation Radio by answering your questions with another round of Ask the Idiots before diving into Hot and Cold Performers to recap everything that's happened over the last seven days. Even with all of the news that happened this past week, the boys still managed to yammer on for over an hour about everything in the world of hockey despite it only being late August.

  • With Friday being the 7th annual Oilersnation Open, the guys got together to drop this week's episode of Oilersnation Radio a day early. As always, they kicked things off with their delicious debate, which today was focused on the reports that the Oilers could be looking at the trade market as a way to address the right side of their blueline. Do the guys think Stan Bowman will make a splash before the season starts? Is that even the right move to make? They debated it.

From there, they started talking about some other potential options on the blueline, specifically Tony DeAngelo. Frank Seravalli is reporting that DeAngelo would love to be an Oiler and would be willing to play for cheap. He's only 28-years-old but he comes with some baggage. The group talked about whether or he's a player worth considering to help solidify the blueline. They also talked about the NHL Network's ranking of the top 20 defensemen in the league, which featured two Oilers!

During Ask The Idiots, they spoke about some big what if moments from NHL history, the bottom-six pieces they're most excited to watch next season, and Dan had a question about a personal conundrum he's facing.

They wrapped up the show with their Hot & Cold Performers of the week and gave their predictions for the Oilersnation Open!

  • It's Friday afternoon, which means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio has been edited and is ready to massage your ear holes. This week, we're talking about the Oilers' decision not to match the offer sheets, whether the defence is good enough, and what moves might still come before the season starts.

We started the podcast with a delicious debate about the Oilers' decision to walk away from the offer sheets for Dylan Holloway and Philip Broberg. Was it a good idea? Was it the best move they could have made? Should they have matched? As you'll hear, the boys were split on the team's decision. Needless to say, the boys weren't on the same page regarding the offer sheets.

Next, the gang walked through the team's trades last weekend and whether those moves made anyone feel better about the team losing two quality prospects. As you'll hear, it's hard for the boys to get too excited about the trades when there's still plenty of fear of the unknown regarding what we have relative to what the team lost.

  • The boys are back with a Friday edition of Oilersnation Radio and for the first time in a few weeks, they have some actual news to break down. They began things by sinking their teeth into the offer sheet drama that unfolded this week. The Oilers were hit with dual predatory offer sheets from the St. Louis Blues and now they're at risk of having to watch both Dylan Holloway and Philip Broberg walk away. Can they keep them both? Should they let one of the two players walk? The guys began the show by talking about their initial reactions to the news and how the Oilers will handle this complicated situation.

That led into some talk about who are some players the Oilers might need to part ways with if they're going to try and match both offer sheets. Could Cody Ceci or Brett Kulak be moved? Or should they just keep all their vets, let Broberg go and maybe hit the free agent market for a potential stop gap.

They wrapped up the show with some Ask The Idiots Questions and their Hot & Cold Performers of the week, which featured talk about birthdays and the news that dropped this week surrounding the local football team!

  • The boys are back for a Friday edition of Oilersnation Radio as they sit down for an hour of Oilers talk. To kick off today's pod, the guys talked about the news that Oscar Klefbom has officially retired. They talked about his career, which was cut way too short and that led into some talk about the biggest 'what ifs' in Oilers history. From draft blunders, to major injuries, and poor playoff performances, they debated the butterfly effects that would go with some of these major moments for the franchise.

They then talked a little about when they expect Leon Draisaitl's contract extension to get done and Liam provided an update on how things are shaking out down at the Hlinka Gretzky Cup. From there, they took some Ask The Idiots questions from the listeners which involved Oilers prospects, PTO options, and what to expect from both Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Zach Hyman next season.

They wrapped up the podcast by talking about how many goals to expect from Connor McDavid next season for our friends at bet365 and they gave out their hot and cold performers of the week.

  • It's Friday afternoon, which means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio has been edited and is ready to massage your ear holes. This week, we're talking about the Leon Draisaitl extension, long weekend plans, some Baggedmilk Trivia, and whatever random nonsense we could think of to fill the time.

The guys started this week's podcast with a delicious debate about how many Oilers we believe could realistically score 30 goals during the 2024-25 season. Given the calibre of forwards on Edmonton's roster, it's fair to drink the Kool-Aid and buy into the idea that the Oilers could have upward of four or five guys to reach the 30-goal mark.

Despite the slow news time, the boys still had a few items to talk about from this past week, including MacT and Randy Gregg being the next players included in the Oilers' Hall of Fame. That led us to discuss who might be on next year's list and where the cutoff should be for inclusion. Just because we may feel a certain way about specific players, does that mean the Oilers will include them in their Hall of Fame?

Finally, we wrapped up the Friday episode of Oilersnation Radio by answering your questions with another round of Ask the Idiots before diving into Hot and Cold Performers to recap everything that's happened over the last seven days. Even though there wasn't much to talk about, the boys still managed to yammer on for over an hour about everything from the Oilers to the Elks to chiming in on what's been happening at the summer Olympics.

  • It's Friday afternoon, meaning a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio has been edited and ready to massage your ear holes. This week, we're talking about the Stan Bowman hire, the Edmonton heat wave, and whatever random nonsense we could think of to fill the time.

The guys kicked off the podcast with a delicious debate about the Stan Bowman hiring and whatever everyone thought about what was easily the most controversial move in recent memory. Given his history in Chicago, it's not surprising that the reaction from Oilers fans was filled with rage. Yet, despite the backlash, it was clear that the organization really doesn't care about what their fanbase thinks, which left a sour taste in many fans' mouths.

Moving the podcast to what happens on the ice, Baggedmilk asked the fellas how much pressure they think Bowman is under to get the Oilers to finally win it all. Given that he wasn't the one who put this current team together, does he get a free pass on this first year as GM regardless of the results? Or should Oilers fans expect more from him than simply sitting back and watching what happens over the next 12 months?

Finally, we wrapped up the Friday episode of Oilersnation Radio by answering your questions with another round of Ask the Idiots before diving into Hot and Cold Performers to recap everything that's happened over the last seven days. Even though there wasn't much to talk about, the boys still managed to yammer on for over an hour about everything from the Oilers to the NFL to how excited everyone is that the Olympics are finally up and running.

  • It's Friday afternoon, meaning a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio has been edited and ready to massage your ear holes. This week, we're talking about the Oilers' GM search, the Edmonton heat wave, and whatever random nonsense we could think of to fill the time.

The guys kicked off the podcast with a random collection of topics, including a weather report, English TV recommendations, and whatever else they could think of to kill time since there's not much going on. Even though the fellas knew they were supposed to talk about the Oilers, they took a while to actually get going.

Once they actually started talking about hockey, the conversation turned to who Jeff Jackson will hire as the Oilers' new general manager over the next few weeks. Will he pick an experienced candidate, as many people suspect, or will he go with a different candidate that no one sees coming? Either way, Jackson said earlier this week that he would like to get someone in place sooner rather than later, so it seems like it won't be much longer until we get our answer.

Finally, we wrapped up the Friday episode of ONR with some Ask the Idiots questions, Kennedy's quote game, and another round of Hot and Cold Performers. Despite the fact that nothing is happening in the hockey world right now, the fact that we were able to knock out more than an hour of hockey content is truly remarkable. That's not to say that we need a parade, but we wouldn't be opposed to one if someone would like to organize it.

  • It's Friday afternoon, which means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio has been edited and is ready to massage your ear holes. This week, we're talking about the Ryan McLeod trade, answering your questions, and discussing whatever else is going on in our lives.

The guys kicked off the Friday episode of Oilersnation Radio with a delicious debate about who is more likely to be on the opening night roster: Evander Kane or Cody Ceci. The Oilers are over the cap, so the team will need to do something to become cap-compliant, and a lot of folks are looking at those two players as potential options to move.

Changing gears, the guys walked through an article series that Liam is working on that showcases the best and worst draft picks the Oilers have had outside of the first round. With the draft on our minds, we looked back at some of our favourite depth picks and then tortured ourselves by talking about some of the legit NHL players that were selected after. We can't wait to share this series with you!

From there, the boys looked at the Ryan McLeod for Matthew Savoie trade and whether their opinion on the trade has changed in the last week after thinking about it a little bit. Even with some time to think things over, everybody on the podcast still loves the trade, even though it means losing a quality player in Ryan McLeod. It's a discussion that's sure to keep you entertained and engaged, as we thoroughly enjoyed talking about it.

  • It's Friday afternoon, meaning a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio has been edited and ready to massage your ear holes. This week, we're talking all things free agency, as the Oilers were major players in the NHL's annual fishing derby.

Kicking off the Tuesday episode of Oilersnation Radio, the boys started the show with a delicious debate about everyone's favourite move from the first day of free agency. Even though the Oilers didn't have much cap space to spend, Jeff Jackson was able to do a lot to not only bring back his free agents but also improve the roster.

The guys also offered their grades on all of the moves the Oilers made yesterday. From bringing back Connor Brown, Adam Henrique, and Mattias Janmark as UFAs to landing Jeff Skinner and Viktor Arvidsson as UFAs, Edmonton was one of the busier teams in the league on day one, and the fellas were pretty damned excited to talk about it.

The guys wound down the Tuesday episode of Oilersnation Radio with some betting talk for bet365, as the sportsbook has already released some future bets for the 2024-25 season. Finally, the boys offered their takes on what the Oilers have left to do in free agency or if they think the team is done until training camp, provided they can clear the necessary cap space. Needless to say, this was the most excited that Oilers fans have been about heading into the summer that anyone can remember.

  • The Edmonton Oilers are now in full off season mode with the NHL Draft starting today and free agency opening up on Monday. The Oilers don't have any top core players heading to free agency; however, they still have the likes of Warren Foegele, Adam Henrique and Mattias Janmark all pending as unrestricted free agency. Liam, Rick, Dan and Tyler, for a short period of the show, dove into who the Oilers should look to bring back and who they should move on from. As the show moved on, they talked about Ken Holland after it was announced earlier this week that he would no longer be the general manager. The guys gave their thoughts his Holland's time here deciding if his tenure was successful or a failure. They then closed out the show with Ask the Idiots and Hot and Cold performers.

  • The Edmonton Oilers quest for a sixth Stanley Cup came to an end last night, losing 2-1 to the Florida Panthers. The lose put a somber tone on today's edition of Oilersnation Radio. With Tyler and Baggedmilk travelling and Rick still in his feels, Liam and Nation Dan took the wheel along with Woz, Kennedy and, special guest, Captain Feltan.

Of the jump, the five of them recapped Game 7 and talked about what went wrong for the Oilers. Was it the early goal by the Florida Panthers? The play of Sergei Bobrovsky? Or not rolling the lines in the third period? From there, they continued to discuss the Final but specifically Connor McDavid's Conn Smythe win. They reviewed the final ballot and talked about McDavid not collecting the award on the ice.

As the show continued on, the gang started to have some fun with Dan's 3 v 3 game. This weeks topic was "Oilers Superfans" which was fitting with Captain Feltan in the room. They ran through that and then played "Can you clear this up for me?" which is Woz's signature segment.

  • It's Friday afternoon, and that means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio has been edited and ready to massage your ear holes. The major difference this week is that the Oilers are fighting for their lives in Game 6 with the chance to push this series back to Florida for a seventh and deciding game.

The boys started the Friday episode of Oilersnation Radio discussing what their non-negotiables are for Game 6 if the Oilers are going to win their third straight elimination game. Whether it's being strong on the special teams, limiting mistakes, keeping Florida to the outside of the ice, getting saves, or anything in between, there are lots of details the Oilers will need to focus on if they're going to extend the series.

Changing gears, we looked back at Game 5 and what the Oilers did well in that win and what they need to improve on. Needless to say, beating the Panthers for a third straight time will be incredibly difficult, but Baggedmilk wanted to know what needs to be carried over and what needs to be scrapped ahead of the most important home game in nearly two decades.

Lastly, we wrapped up the episode of ONR with another round of Ask the Idiots and Hot and Cold Performers before winding down with some score predictions ahead of a do-or-die Game 6 against the Florida Panthers. As always, the Friday episode of Oilersnation Radio was a blast to record, and we all hope you had just as much fun listening as we did making it.

  • The Edmonton Oilers are fighting for their lives tonight in Game 5, which meant there was plenty for the boys to discuss on the Tuesday episode of Oilersnation Radio. On the Tuesday episode of ONR, the boys covered the Oilers' commanding Game 4 win, what they need to do to extend the series, and the rumours from last week that the team has engaged in extension talks with Leon Draisaitl.

We kicked off the Tuesday episode of Oilersnation Radio with a delicious debate about why everyone thinks the Oilers will still be alive tomorrow morning. Everybody knows how tough it's going to be for the Oilers to go into Sunrise and win their first road game of the series with their backs against the wall, but Baggedmilk wanted to hear why everyone thinks the job can still get done. No one is saying it will be easy, but that doesn't mean it's impossible.

Changing gears, the guys needed to spend some time discussing what it was like to experience a Stanley Cup Final win in Edmonton on Saturday night. Whether you were at the game or downtown, the celebration was unavoidable, and the jubilation was very easy to get swept up in. And since the Oilers won Game 4 so handily, it was fair to wonder if any of the lessons and successes from that win can carry over into a do-or-die Game 5 matchup on the road.

Finally, we wrapped up the Tuesday edition of ONR with another round of Dan's 3v3 game, which was all about the greatest comebacks we could think of. Finally, Baggedmilk stepped in for Woz for another edition of Can You Clear That Up For Me, which was centred around the parallels between the NBA/NHL finals and whether or not the Oilers' season can be deemed a success regardless of the result in Game 5.

  • It's Friday afternoon, and that means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio has been edited and ready to massage your ear holes. The major difference this week is that the Oilers are down three games, the sky seems to be falling, and we still had to try and grind out a podcast that's entertaining for everyone. Needless to say, it wasn't fun.

The boys started the Friday episode of Oilersnation Radio with a delicious debate about what has been the biggest issue with the Oilers falling 3-0 to start their series against the Florida Panthers. For most of the boys, it's the lack of offence that has let them down the most. With only four goals scored in nine periods of play, the Oilers haven't been able to score nearly as much as they usually do.

From there, the guys fell off the rails again. They were clearly trying to avoid talking about the Oilers' current position in the Stanley Cup Final and wanted to talk about literally anything other than hockey. From pop rankings to banana shenanigans to how many Taco Bell Cantinas there are in the U.S.A., there was no topic too dumb to spend time on to avoid talking hockey.

Lastly, we wrapped up the episode of ONR with another round of Ask the Idiots and Hot and Cold Performers before winding down with some score predictions ahead of a do-or-die Game 4 against the Florida Panthers. As always, the Friday episode of Oilersnation Radio was a blast to record, and we all hope you had just as much fun listening as we did making it.

  • It’s another episode of Oilersnation Radio coming to you live from the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Not live as in we’re in Florida, but we are still very much alive.

This week Dan and Rick are joined by Kennedy (Oilersnation Design Extraordinaire) and Brett Holden (Blue Jays Nation Expert and Oilersnation Content Machine) to talk hockey and all things Oilers and Panthers.

Haters of the show will say it’s “copium” but the group went to breaking down the issues that have brought us to where we are, as well as reasons to be optimistic. The borderline/penalized play of the Finals is discussed as well as a rousing edition of Dan’s 3v3 Game.

Tune in every Tuesday and Friday during the season to hear the number one Oilers centric podcast (according to our parents) podcast on your radio dial, Oilersnation Radio Podcast.

  • It's Friday afternoon, and that means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio has been edited and ready to massage your ear holes. The major difference this week is that we're just over 24 hours away from the biggest playoff series Oilersnation has ever seen. Are you excited? We were excited.

The boys started the Friday episode of Oilersnation Radio with a delicious debate about what makes this series winnable for the Edmonton Oilers. If you believe what many of the pundits say, this series was basically over before it even started, but that was pretty much the same messaging we saw in the last round, too. So, what do the Oilers have to do to SIUTBSOHC once again? From our side of the microphone, everyone on the podcast actually loved that everyone doubts their abilities.

Changing gears, we looked at the latest line combos from the team's morning skate today in Florida and wondered if this will actually be what we see tomorrow or if Kris Knoblauch is playing games. We also dove into the article that made waves around the country earlier this week when some dude named Greg Cote called Connor McDavid "McOverrated." He then doubled down after getting dunked on repeatedly by saying McDavid is an underachiever.

Lastly, we wrapped up the episode of ONR with another round of Ask the Idiots and Hot and Cold Performers before winding down with some score predictions ahead of Game 1 against the Florida Panthers. As always, the Friday episode of Oilersnation Radio was a blast to record, and we all hope you had just as much fun listening as we did making it.
