  • Welcome to 2024 and a new year for Nothing to Fear!

We're going to start the year off by putting out the rest of the only episode we recorded in the last two months (BUSY) and wrap up our chat on the Insidious Franchise!

Enjoy all our thoughts on arguably one of the 21st Centuries most notable horror properties with Insidious: The Red Door.

Thanks for listening! That's it for show notes. Love you, mean it.

  • More Like Insidious: The Last Episode of 2023.

We wanted to give all you good little listeners out in podcast land a treat for Christmas with one last episode of the show.

We sat down to talk about the remaining films in the Insidious franchise (at the time of recording) and for December's episode we present Insidious: The Last Key.

Thanks so much for all the support of the show over the years. It's semi-dormant but, like any good horror franchise, there's always a chance for a reboot.

We hope you'll continue to hang with us in 2024 as the show continues its evolution.

    Stay safe out there, friends.

    Love you.

  • Thanks for waiting for us while we took a little summer (and fall) hiatus. We're back with a monthly release schedule for the time being and we kicked things off with the 2023 summer smash hit, Talk to Me!

Australian horror is here to stay and the folks behind this tense and spooky flick are sure to go places if they keep churning out this kind of content.

Friends, get yourself a candle. Get yourself a group of Gen Z kids to peer pressure you into interacting with this haunted object and watch Talk to Me right this instant!

Also. Happy Birthday, Danica. Thanks for listening.

  • AND What a new beginning it is for us over here at Nothing to Fear. We bust back from summer hiatus like a Jason Voorhees who was buried in a far too shallow grave. And wouldn't you know it, we have a guest filling in for Luke on this episode.

We are joined by none other than a Day One fan of Nothing to Fear and now real life friend, Danae! So there's hope for your parasocial relationships too!

Danae joins us to talk all about this franchise and along the they come up with a new idea for a Jason Voorhees movie (Weekend at Jason's. It'll make a billion guaranteed), we reminisce about that kid in elementary school who only drew weapons and probably went into law enforcement, and weigh the merits of watching all the Friday the 13th movies in a row (do not do this).

Everyone go find Danae on social media and bully them into starting a podcast of their own now that they've had a taste of the fame.

    @duhnae on instagram!

You can also listen to Alex's curated daily song list over at @wansongaday on instagram.

Once you've finished all of that you should definitely go listen to all of Super Scary Podcast including the episode that I recently guested on. We talked about 2019s The Hole in the Ground from A24. It'll Changeling your life! Look for The Super Scary Podcast wherever you get 'em!

Thanks so much for downloading and listening to the show, if you could give us a boost we'd all really really love that. I know we've gone away for a bit and we need help spreading the NtF word. I still think it's really cool how my podcast outlasted NFTs. I hope all those monkey pictures bankrupted people.

Billie. Go to bed. It's late. Bye for now everyone! See you again real soon!

On the last episode of Nothing to Fear, as we head into a summer hiatus, we close out phobia month with Arachnophobia. Join us as we traverse the canyons and chasms of Venezuela in search of never before seen Pod Content. Watch out as we spin our story threads into a web so fine it catches all manner of prey. Thrill at the catharsis Billie experiences by seeing that even THIS movie, and spiders by extension are Nothing to Fear.

This week we take a surprising departure from being a horror movie podcast and transition into a regular movie podcast with this 2 hour selection from our boy Alex Wan. 1995 was a wild time, the internet was new, Holly Hunter had the bluntest bangs decades before Zooey Deschanel, and people were too afraid to explicitly come out and say that any of their characters were gay. All of this, and more!, combine into the film Copycat. As you can tell, Luke is really happy with the fact that we picked this film for our horror movie podcast.

Hopefully he can right the ship when it's his pick next week.

    Enjoy the show!

We're looking at the top five strongest phobias this month for Nothing to Fear and picking movies based on that. First up is cynophobia which is the fear of dogs. Apart from The Sandlot or that movie where Liam Neeson gets attacked by wolves or whatever, there aren't many dog centric horror movies. Well. Except for Cujo. Stephen King is back at it again and we take a look at this adaptation from all the way back in 1983. Turns out the real bad guy was rabies all along.

Forget Gen Z and their desire to bring back the early 2000s fashion (You really don’t want to experience jeans so long they covered your shoes and were immediately reduced to tatters), bring back the hair teasing and crop tops of the sugariest decade!

Oh. And there’s vampires in here. It’s an allegory maybe. Grandpa is a weirdo.

We DID IT! Here is 150 episodes of three friends talking about horror movies. In lieu of talking about any horror movie news, join Billie as she tries to describe a meme in real time to her friends. All that PLUS a discussion about a movie that somehow was off of Billie’s radar for way too long. So get your friends together, forget about using any sort of protective gear and step inside the Shimmer to talk about Annihilation. This podcast episode has everything, talking about parallel universes, in depth discussions about the self-destructive tendencies of humans, and a fire drill! You don't want to miss it.

Thanks so much for listening to 150 episodes of.... this. It's a fun show, and as Alex said, we're at least locked in until episode 304!

  • This episode contains spoilers for the movie we are discussing!

Forest month continues. This time with 100% more plot lines around being in a forest. Or, in the case of this movie, A Jungle. We tackle controversial (read, made Billie mad and he kind of seems like a gross dude) Eli Roth’s spiritual sequel to Cannibal Holocaust this week. It’s The Green Inferno. A movie that somehow finds a way to be obnoxious an offensive all that the very same time and leave you disliking every single character onscreen. But I don’t want to give away my feelings too much at the top here. Enjoy!

The year 2023 saw the horror landscape rocked with this Canadian indie movie about a very spooky house. It’s 100 minutes of being stuck in Edmonton. Zing. Let us know in the comments on Instagram or email us about what YOU think of this movie.
