  • This week I'm talking about dopamine chasing in your business, and I'm calling myself out. I get into the difference between dopamine seeking and plain old scarcity, why repeatable revenue is never an accident, and why the businesses that actually compound are the boring, held-steady ones... not the ones throwing spaghetti at the wall every time a launch goes quiet.

  • This week on Not Just a Revenue, I’m ruffling feathers after a Threads conversation about whether a Gmail address changes how people perceive your business... That spirals into a bigger point: so many things we normalise online wouldn’t fly in “real” businesses, and if we want people to spend serious money with us, we need to look and operate like we mean it. I’m calling myself out too for playing small, charging pittance, and setting “safe” goals that shrink my income.

  • This week I’m talking about auditing your client journey, because I keep seeing the same gaps where people are missing out on potential revenue. I break the journey into five stages: cold leads, warm leads, hot leads, current clients, and past clients, and I share what to look for at each point. If you want help mapping and simplifying all of this, I share how we do it inside my 1:1 offer, Momentum.

  • In today’s episode I’m unpacking a question I think most business owners need to hear: do you actually have a marketing problem, or is something else broken underneath? I share why I don’t see marketing conferences as the solution when most of us already “know the stuff” but aren’t doing the do, and why marketing should come at the end, not the beginning. Instead of starting with content and hoping for sales, I walk through flipping the process: set a revenue goal, build and price offers to hit that goal, use conversion rates and audience data, and then market based on what the numbers tell you.

  • In this episode I break down how I built a full-time income on part-time hours, starting in 2022 after having my son and returning to a part-time council job I hated while juggling limited childcare, postpartum depression, and undiagnosed ADHD. In late 2023 I hired a business coach and relaunched from my old finance account (25k followers) to a new brand and Instagram where only 10% followed. Within three months I replaced my corp salary, was fully booked, then launched a £15k offer, leading to consistent 5k months, a 2k take-home, and a predictable income model I now teach inside Momentum.

  • In this episode I share how two weeks offline on a Mediterranean cruise gave me the space to reflect on what I actually want to be known for, and why my business works best when I’m having fun. I’m not fully re-niching, but I am leaning all the way into being a business and money coach: combining business strategy, financial strategy, and the identity piece that stops people making money because they don’t believe they can.

I also break down why rigid budgets don’t work, why no-spend challenges put you into scarcity mode, and why you need joyful spending money so you don’t end up overspending anyway.

  • In this episode I talk about why overspending happens and how to start getting control of it. First, I explain why you need to define “overspending” for yourself using a simple financial audit, so you’re not trying to live within unrealistic limits. Then I unpack three drivers of spending: the pressure of capitalism and consumerism, dopamine chasing (especially under stress), and the biggest one: identity spending, where purchases are tied to status, belonging, or who we think we should be. I share prompts to explore what you truly want versus what’s been inherited from others, and I leave you with one key question to ask before buying

I cut through the online noise (and the accountant fear-mongering) to explain why this change can actually make tax simpler and help you feel more in control of your money. I share what you really need to set up, how often you’ll update HMRC, and why you don’t need expensive software or to outsource everything. I also explain what still falls under the old system, key timelines to be aware of, and what I’m encouraging my clients to do right now so they’re not juggling multiple tax worries at once.

  • In this episode, I dive into how people pleasing can quietly kill your profit, focusing on pricing and sales. I talk about undercharging to avoid discomfort, caving when someone pushes back, hesitating to raise prices for existing clients, and defaulting to discounts instead of holding your value. On the sales side, I cover how fear of seeming pushy leads to vague follow-ups, backing off when someone goes quiet, over-explaining on discovery calls, and not booking a clear next step. • In this episode Emilie discusses how to survive a low-income season in business. She shares her current situation: after hitting only 30% of a November launch goal and making no sales in January. Emilie outlines how financial stress reduces strategic and creative capacity (referencing the book "Scarcity" by  Sendhil Mullainathan and Eldar Shafir) and argues that earning more doesn’t guarantee safety.

Emilie introduces her framework for building “Six Figure Safety,” focusing on creating financial “more-than-enoughness” through predictable take-home pay, living joyfully without restrictive budgeting, and building lasting wealth.

She describes building safety via revenue planning with a buffer (“overflow”), optimising profit, setting aside taxes, paying a consistent salary, and letting excess accumulate in the business to cover low-income months.
