India vs Bangladesh: ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 India thrashes Bangladesh by 7 wickets in Pune India continued their unbeaten run at the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 with a comprehensive 7-wicket victory over Bangladesh at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune on Thursday. Chasing a target of 257, India reached the finish line with 41 balls to spare, thanks to a brilliant century from Virat Kohli. Kohli was the star of the Indian innings, scoring 103* off 95 balls. He was well-supported by opener Shubman Gill, who scored 70 off 78 balls. The duo put on a 113-run partnership for the second wicket, which laid the foundation for India's victory. Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan won the toss and elected to bat first. However, the Tigers' innings got off to a shaky start, as they lost two wickets inside the first 10 overs. Liton Das and Shakib Al Hasan then steadied the ship with a 105-run partnership for the third wicket. Liton Das was the top scorer for Bangladesh, with 73 off 94 balls. Shakib Al Hasan also scored a valuable half-century, scoring 57 off 78 balls. However, the Tigers lost their last six wickets for just 61 runs to be bowled out for 256 in 49.2 overs. India's bowlers did a fine job to restrict Bangladesh to a manageable total. Mohammed Shami and Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked up two wickets each, while Hardik Pandya and Yuzvendra Chahal picked up one wicket each. In reply, India got off to a flying start, with openers Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma putting on a 60-run partnership for the first wicket. Gill was dismissed in the 12th over, but Rohit Sharma continued to score freely. He was eventually dismissed in the 23rd over for 42. Virat Kohli then joined Shreyas Iyer in the middle, and the duo took India closer to victory. Iyer was dismissed in the 36th over for 29, but Kohli continued to bat unperturbed. He reached his century in the 39th over, and India sealed the victory in the 41st over. India's victory over Bangladesh was their fourth in a row at the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. They are now at the top of the points table, with 8 points from 4 matches. Bangladesh, on the other hand, are now at the fourth position in the points table, with 4 points from 4 matches. India's performance against Bangladesh was truly dominant. They bowled well, batted well, and fielded well. Virat Kohli's century was the highlight of the Indian innings. He played with great skill and composure, and he was ably supported by Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer. India are now the favorites to win the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, and they will be looking to continue their unbeaten run in the tournament. Thanks for listening to Quiet Please.
