Development of positive culture in schools of architecture has been a focus of the American Institute of Architecture Students (AIAS) since the late 1990’s, and this concept has developed over the past two decades into Learning and Teaching Culture Policies. In this episode, we talked about studio culture as a whole and answered the following questions:
What were our expectations going into architecture school?
What did we each go through at UTA? How do you think your background or upbringing played into that?
How do you feel now? Would you change something? -
When you travel, there are many ways to see things. But sketching is one of the best ways to experience things. In this episode, we talk about how our personal travels have been impacted by the times we sketched versus snapped a photo and moved on. We also briefly discuss how you don't need to travel to Italy to learn how to sketch what you experience. During COVID, take a safe walk and begin to sketch your neighborhood. Who knows what you'll see!
