All relationships are difficult in some form or another. There will be disagreement, conflict, and hurt even in the best of times and also in our worst. We spiral into emotional disengagement and lose touch to each other and ourselves. Loving yourself means that you accept yourself fully, treat yourself with kindness and respect, and nurture your growth and wellbeing. Self-love encompasses not only how you treat yourself but also your thoughts and feelings about yourself. So, when you conceptualize self-love, you can try to imagine what you would do for yourself, how you would talk to yourself, and how you would feel about yourself that reflects love and concern. Self-love is a state of appreciation for onelself that grows from actions that support our physical, psychological and spiritual growth. Self-love means having a high regard for your own well-being and happiness. Self-love means taking care of your own needs and not sacrificing your well-being to please others. Self-love means not settling for less than you deserve. Self-love can mean something different for each person because we all have many different ways to take care of ourselves. Figuring out what self-love looks like for you as an individual is an important part of your mental health. Creating Change often comes at a cost and it's consequential sacrifice. At some point we suffer to the extent that the only way out is by setting ourselves free. Then the pain is so overwhelming that only by leaving the situation, the thought and the feeling behind we find the strength to heal. It is this moment in which we finally let go. And this time for good.

Too a fault we as couples look for completion in one another and create a cycle of unrealistic expectations which causes us to disengage emotionally and grow distant and even cold to what once kept us connected and warm. Our love crumbles up to the point in which we feel like strangers. Healing that dynamic must then become a priority in our relationships and includes an even bigger realization yet: "I can only heal my relationship once I have decided to heal myself!"

We spend so much time trying to change for the better only to be disappointed by ourselves and at some point giving up and saying : "That's just the way I am! I can't change! ". We crumble and fall, despair, feel lost, lonely and sometimes very small. In moments like these it seems like there is no way out. We feel trapped on a daily basis and at times disconnect from the people we love and care for while actually just wanting to be close to them.
