Adam is a person trainer as well as a musician for best part of 30 years. In this episode we discuss some basic principles around how to use scales in a way that is practice and useful, how much protein you should be trying to get and if calories in and calories out is really what we should be looking at first and foremost.

So does it really? or is that just a click bate title??? Well yes and no.
Returning guest Scott Carney returns to the podcast to discuss his new documentary/podcast/investigative Journalism video he has just released today. and its a really important watch/listen for any one new to breath work or is interested in perhaps learning th swim how method.
now Scott has been doing the method for 10+ years everyday and still swears by it. But there are issues with inner fire (the company behind the method run by wim's son) thatisnt helping to keep practitioners safe.
So to get back to the original question, is it killing people??? Well yes people have been dying, Scott has found out about around 13 so far confirmed cases of people who have taken to doing the Wim Hof method whilst in water and suffering shallow water black outs and dying in the water.
and no the comment do not say that it should be practiced like that BUT there are still videos and practices of Wim doing the Breathwork in water all over his trainings. the messages are mixed and there isn't being enough done to clear these issues up and in fact innerfire appear to try to lie there way out of numerous issues that arise.
Scott has had videos taken down off YouTube for trying to get this story out and had legal action threatened. To make sure things are clear, Scott loves this practice and things it has done great things for many people but there is a chance it could get wasted if something isn't done about wins increasingly erratic and guru like behaviour.
I hope you enjoy the podcast and please do let me know what you think. Are you a wimhof fan and hate that this is being said and done? or does this seem like a fair call to help prevent more lives being lost??
to watch the video make sure you head to Scotts website or his YouTube to check it outhttps://www.scottcarney.comhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FiHJ4d4v57w

This weeks episode is with a fellow yoga teacher friend of mine, all the way from Canada, Kaye Penaflor. I met Kaye 8+ years ago whilst I was doing my yoga teacher training in Goa, India. Kaye has a couple of years up on me with teaching and has explored many styles from ashtanga to to Acro and aerial.
She talks about who her yoga has become more of a lifestyle than just a movement practice. How meditation isn't just something you can just sit down into and how there is work to do before you can just do that. How the lessons from yoga can be taken into climbing, friendships, work and all more.
Further to this conversation, Kaye has also been nominated to be one of Canada top fitness instructors by impact magazine. How rad is that.
Kaye has also teamed up with Duonamic to bring you the gear to practice aerial yoga in your own home. Go and visit www.duonamic.com to find out more about the ashtaerial yoga gear that kaye has helped design. Its amazing.
head to instagram.com/kayepenaflor to find everything she is up to.

This week I am having a slightly different conversation. Its all about sex. That naughty, unspoken word of sex. As well as sex we discuss desire and its relationship to sex and relationships in general.
\Jamie has a 20 year background in the health and wellness world and I met her on a movnat course on Hampstead Heath about 5 years ago. She is a sexuality and intimacy coach working with couples and individuals to help them find their path to intimacy and a truly embodied sense of self. we discuss so much in 60 minutes and from my perspective it really highlighted the importance that sex/intimacy/desire and their role in relationships has in out own health and wellbeing...both physically and mentally.
If you would like to find out more about Jamie and her work head to www.acadamyforintimacy.com and www.instagram.com/acadamyforintimacy We discussed a few different things through out this episode and if you would like links to any of the subjects/papers we discuss please do reach out and ask. Also if you have any questions you would like to ask Jamie, leave them in the comments or DM me and Jamie and I will do a Q&A sometime soon

This weeks episode features ex Australian team pro-cyclist and now life coach, Shannon Malseed.
Shannon and I have been chatting for a number of years now and its been amazing to see her go from a pro cyclist to a life coach helping many people to find their path and step past past emotions and hang ups.
Its a great chat about how travel, inspiring parents, determination and drive can all help to find your path and have the strength to step away from the thing you have always wanted as a kid but something that begins to feel isn't your life anymore. Thats what race and touring helped to teach Shannon along with her dad and his love of spirituality that he imparted in her from a young age

This week I am joined by the legend that is Scott Carney. Scott is the author of the New York Times best seller, what doesn't kill us, about his time looking to debunk Wim Hof, before he was ever really a thing, but finding out that what he claimed was actually possible.
We discuss the good and bad and the ugly (the enema) of Wim Hof, how we can use something he calls "the wedge" to push ourselves to be better humans and adapt to the world as well as his other books including his debunking of crazy yoga guru's and his book on the biggest storm in history which set off the breaking up of Pakistan and nearly led to thermonuclear war.
This was a fun, brilliant conversation, I absolutely loved it. if you want to know more about Scott and his work go find him on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/c/sgcarney and on insta at https://www.instagram.com/sgcarney/ I can definitely recommend https://www.waterstones.com/book/what-doesnt-kill-us/scott-carney/wim-hof/9781911617549 and https://bookshop.org/books/the-vortex-a-true-story-of-history-s-deadliest-storm-an-unspeakable-war-and-liberation-9798200858484/9780062985415

Welcome back to another episode of move breathe live, this week I chatted to David and lex from the non-profit organisation Physiology first. The guys run a "university" which aims to teach the youth about their health and the ways in which their body and mind work. By bringing a principles based approach to learning and health, they are helping kids to understand the difference between what it is they feel, anxiety/panic etc, and life challenging their physiology and how they can overcome and grow to be stronger both mental and psychologically.
We get into all sorts about the brain and body and how the emotions drive so much but how these emotions come from a physiological background, How schools are not helping kids to become their best selves and that the education system is kinda set up to fail them as it doesn't take into account these things.
It was such an amazing conversation and actually overran a bit to nearly 90 minutes but to me it was worth the extra time.
,make sure you go check these guys out on instagram @physiologyfirst and their website www.physiolgyfirst.org
