  • Welcome to the twelfth episode of Mother of Dogs. Tina is joined by Samantha Childs.

In this discussion with Samantha Childs, we explore themes of overcoming adversity, the power of love, and the everlasting bond with her beloved Henri. Henri's spirit, a beacon of joy and connection, teaches us that energy transcends, transforming into new, enduring forms. Dive into this season's heartwarming close, celebrating the mystical journey of life and the extraordinary healing power of animals.

    About Samantha Childs:

Samantha Childs has wanted to write kid's books ever since she was a kid. She earned a BA with Honors in Literature from Claremont McKenna College and an MFA in Nonfiction Writing from Columbia University, and then a little French bulldog named Henri came  along and brought her first book to life.  Samantha has taught writing to students of all ages and lives and writes in Southern California.

    About Henri:

Henri (pronounced "Henry") is Samantha's French bulldog, and the star of Henri and the Magnificent Snort. Henri inspired, delighted, and touched hearts all over the world, directly and through his famous instagram account @henrilefrenchie. Henri brought joy and love and sunshine wherever he went, and he continues to do so within the pages of this book and whenever you think of him.

About Henri and the Magnificent Snort:

Henri and the Magnificent Snort was inspired by Samantha's childhood experiences of being bullied when starting a new middle school. These are interwoven within the book with the true story and lovable characteristics of Henri the Frenchie, and his journey moving from New York City to Southern California. And, like in the best  times in life, there is a little extra magic sprinkled on top.

    About Lindsey:

Lindsey is the proud pet parent and dog blogger behind the acclaimed LINDSEYANDCOCO.com, crafting a unique blend of canine culture and high fashion from her Atlanta, Georgia base, though her roots lie in Connecticut. Her dog family includes the spirited Yorkie, Paris, who at nine years old still exudes the charm of a puppy, alongside the dynamic duo of three-year-old chihuahua mixes, Dylan and Delilah, affectionately dubbed 'The Twins'.

Launching her blogging journey amidst the 2020 pandemic, Lindsey found solace and purpose with her then 15-year-old chihuahua companion, Coco. While Coco has since crossed the rainbow bridge, his legacy endures through Lindsey's blog, which is a vibrant tribute to their shared adventures and an ongoing celebration of his life.

Identifying an unmet need within the pet lifestyle sphere, Lindsey ingeniously fused her passion for pooches with the polished aesthetics of fashion powerhouses like VOGUE, ELLE, InStyle, and Harper’s BAZAAR. The result? A sophisticated, editorial-style blog that caters to the discerning tastes of stylish pet parents.

LINDSEYANDCOCO.com has not only captured the hearts of readers but has also garnered acclaim, featuring prominently in prestigious outlets such as CURATEUR, SirDogwood.com, ShoutoutAtlanta, The Pet Summit, Gals Best Friend, and FriendshipCollar. In her innovative space, Lindsey continues to redefine pet parenting, one chic paw print at a time.

    Episode Summary:

She chats about her experiences since establishing the blog in 2020, including her surprise invitation to speak at a virtual pet summit early on, how her posts on being a dog mom, identity, and self-empowerment have resonated with readers, and her future goals of expanding Lindsay and Coco into a full service product-based brand. Lindsay also underlines the importance of authenticity, patience, and understanding your lifestyle when integrating pets into your life, and drops a few dog mom hacks along the way.
