Welcome to the fourth of 12 episodes where I unshame the houses of the chart with a different guest astrologer for each episode.
My guest is Rebecca Padgett, who started as my student and is now someone I book readings with!
To the ancients, the 4th House was called The Subterranean Place. Here we’re discussing how shame can show up in the department of life we call the 4th House, which includes:
the private self living space the foundation of the chart parents / caregivers the family home and hearth lineage, roots, ancestors, land homeland family of origin issuesAs you can imagine, there is quite a lot of here for excavation. It's bottomless! Just begin wherever you are.
Rebecca Padgett is an artist and mystic, who lives in rural Ontario, Canada. Rebecca’s passion is to help guide people to develop their own intuitive and psychic abilities. She uses a range of tools, from astrology, tarot, and energy work, to psychism and mediumship, working with spirit guides and her intuition to support clients on their path through life’s changes and challenges. She is also intensely interested in exploring the area where intuition and creativity meet, be it through intuitive abstract painting or her current work exploring ancestors through found objects and collage. Rebecca enjoys working with the cycles of the seasons, animals, and the night sky, and living in the wide-open, rural landscape, which quiets and expands her mind, allowing her work to grow and change in harmony with the cyclical nature of the world around her.

What the energetic consequences of straining to get someone to understand you?
If someone wants to understand you, they will.
If someone doesn't want to understand you, they won't.
Letting go of the struggle to be understood is an act of love. For yourself and for others.
We can only understand someone else's point of view if we currently have the capacity to tolerate another viewpoint.
Since we do not have control over another's capacity, we cannot control or manage how they understand us.
Woof. This one felt huge.

Sabrina Monarch is an evolutionary astrologer, counselor/coach and author/novelist. She gained an unconventional education in creative writing by discovering an online writing community at age 12 and gaining dozens of mentors across the globe who would help her learn how to write for the next several years. She developed an interest in astrology at a young age as well, and took her craft deeper in her early twenties at the same time that her psychic abilities were noticeably coming online. She produces video forecasts on YouTube (written version available to her mailing list) and is the host of a podcast about spiritual lifestyle and personal evolution called Magic of the Spheres. She teaches astrology online, including an all-levels Evolutionary Astrology Intensive and advanced alumni courses. Sabrina is widely appreciated for her poetic voice and capacity to name subtle, abstract undercurrents of any particular astrological moment. She has an M.A. in Philosophy, Cosmology and Consciousness from the California Institute of Integral Studies and currently resides on the magical island of Crete. In addition, through his podcast, Substack, newsletter, and social media, he shares his knowledge of astrology, making it accessible to a wider audience. At the intersection of astrology and spirituality, Hinshaw explores the ways in which astrology can be used as a tool for spiritual growth and connections between astrology and practices such as meditation, yoga, and tarot. Emphasizing the importance of building community, Hinshaw is passionate about creating space to connect using the language of astrology.

I HAVE A BIG ANNOUNCEMENT INSIDE! I can't wait to share.
The title of this episode came through as I was sharing how it's my feeling that underneath the shame we carry is grief.
The grief of the younger self that the world didn't appear to be a place to hold the generosity of nuance, of complexity, of paradox. A place of compassionate listening and curiosity. Grief that we have to be either good or bad. Grief that can't just be our whole selves.
It's my hypothesis that it was easier to submit to the logic of the shame police than it was to hold the grief about the world.
In this episode, I give updates on my passion project to bring the medicine magic of unshaming to the astrological community.
