The rolling hills of Alba beckon us once again this week as we're joined by top pop-punk songsmith, impressionist and good lad Muzzy from off The Overbites.
We chat about punk fashion. We cut the through the noise on the hot topic of pronunciation of strange names. We get the secret of the Scotland scene's success and perhaps most pertinently, is there a market for soft rock in Dundee?
Niallism is plotting a gig, Tom's giving something back and we make an announcement on behalf of a mystery band member.
Music this week is from: Pkew Pkew Pkew, Los Fatso Libres, Antiseen, Sultans of Ping FC and Until It's Gone.
-
The Disposables. Cheshire's very own punk rock underdogs, are in MLPP Towers this week to talk us through their journey from a spare room lockdown project to the fully formed, fully rounded beat combo you see before you today.
We chat about home recording, self confidence, people harking back to the past, difficult Facebook groups, line up changes and more.
Both of your hosts have supplied gig reports this week. One wholesome and uplifting, the other bleak and depressing. Who delivers which one may surprise you.
Music this week is by: Rotunda, The Vicious Cycles, Assorted Jelly Beans, Cleavers and Comfort Girl.

The third part of this year's MPF trilogy has arrived! Tom, Niallism, Richard White, Danny Barrett, Bagsy Baker and Riaz off Grail Guard have got together to review and assess their attendance at the most recent instalment of Manchester Punk Festival.
It's got falling over (lots), Bargain Hunt, Country and Western, Austrians, Succulent Chinese Meals, performances, shouting swear words at hard men and a lot of lolling.

-
Once again, for reasons we can't fathom, we were graciously invited to appear at the tenth instalment of MPF in order to test the grey matter of some punk rock celebrities.
Don't tell the BBC, but its based on Mastermind.
Abi (Fast Blood), Danny Barrett (The Crash Mats), Vez (Wonk Unit & XRay Vez) and Riaz (Grail Guard) are all up for the challenge, but who will be crowned victorious? With specialist subjects as diverse as dogs and turn of the century emo, it's anybody's game.
Musical interludes are graciously provided by Our Souls and Sprainer (Their new split e.p "Truce" is out NOW on Socks On Records)
-
As per Easter Traditions, we have decided to preview the upcoming Manchester Punk Festival to give you all a flavour of what we'll be doing, who we'll be seeing.
Tom & The Boy Niallism are joined by Riaz off Grail Guard, Danny Barrett off The Crash Mats, Duco Van Der Veen from The Netheregions, Richard F White from Wolverhampton, Mark Murphy off The Meds and long time listener Bagsy Baker wonders what he's got himself in for.

Pick it up (please)! Its a ska special in MLPP Towers this week, and what better way to usher in the summer than to have a chat with Save Ferris' very own Monique Powell!
She's been in movies, toured the world and gets mentioned in autobiographies and has taken time to speak with the fat lads about being mates with Two-Tone legends, Bro Culture, living in Birmingham, protesting and most importantly, Save Ferris' upcoming new releases and tour.
Sadly there is no Aldi report this week as it wasn't Tom's turn to go. But we do have: Niallism gets the memo about the ska special, being inspired in your sleep, a tasty reminder of our flurry of Manchester Punk Festival activity and for the first ever time, we feel the need to tell people off. You've let me down, you've let the podcast down...etc etc.
Music this week is by: Another One, The Slackers, Madness, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones and Sadaxe
-
Jesse Thorson joins us this week to make up for the time he got stuck in a field in France with no phone signal.
The Slow Death (his band) have a new record dropping imminently and we have some tracks from that as well as a reimagining of one of their old songs which is something of an EXCLUSIVE.
We chat about family holidays, the band's very high membership numbers, Wank Hilliams and wives with sexy voices.
Tom and Niallism discuss their latest adventures up the Aldi, we have the Indolent Records submission opening up the show and Tom tells the best joke on the planet.
Music this time is by: M.D.O.P, The Boy Detective, Dillinger Four, Snuff, Hank II, and Stress Positions .
-
They're back and they're more raging than ever....It's The Raging Nathans!
In anticipation of their 6th LP, Josh Goldman has popped in and a couple of the other Nathans make brief appearances too. We discuss liking rock n roll, deconstruct the Welsh language and playing gigs in mortuaries.
We have 3 gig reports and a mini interview with The Bucky Bombs at their EP launch party (they were very mean about Tom, whose vengeance is always swift and righteous) to say we're busting at the seams with content would be an understatement.
Music This Week is from Obvious Approach, Spekky Cult, Circle Jerks, Descendents and The Overbites
-
We're making the effort this week with San Jose's very own Last Ditch Effort.
2 of these political, melodic skate punkers have escaped the California heat for a chat about learning a new instrument, the positives and negatives of Craigslist, Ice Hockey, memes and of course the high profile bromance of President Faketan and his South African mate.
Tom and Niallism chat about Niall's future life, we get a heart warming story about swift justice being delivered in the Far East, Tom attempts some Rileism and he also calls out some pre-planned bullying.
Music this week is by: Bad Brains, All Hope Remains, Perp Walk, Dillinger Four and The Paradox.
-
We have quite a boon of an interview for you this week as we're joined by Canadian/Scottish/Mackem supergroup ROACH SQUAD. They're made up of 50% Leatherface, 25% Sainte Catherines and 25% pure Murderburger, so their pedigree is top tier.
We talk about Graeme and Frankie's return to collaboration, the logistics of your vocalist being on the other side of the planet and we discover a spooky coincidence about their band name. Pre-orders for Roach Squads debut self titled LP are live NOW at Little Rocket Records, so don't hang about!

We get a first hand account of what our colonial cousins' election result has been so far, we chat about our inability to comprehend long distances and we talk about songs that write themselves. All this and much more is inside your favourite serious music journalism podcast!
Tom reveals perhaps the biggest F**king Disgrace we've had so far, Niallism tells a tale of tenacity, survival and flying ham after surviving a storm and he has a new insult for Tom.
Songs this week are courtesy of: The Adverts, The Let Me Downs, The Dickies, Pears and Serial Pest.
-
Tom's been on his travels to beautiful new town and Diesel City, Peterborough. No, he hadn't forgot his passport, he was asked to report on East Angrier X (put on by Socks On Records).
He gathered people under Tom's chatting tree at the back of the closed-down Debenhams to conduct micro-interviews with some of the artistes performing, provides in-depth analysis of the bands' performances and if you listen, you can hear the effect of the Rattler venom that he's infected with a little bit more each interview.
I guarantee that when East Angrier XI gets advertised, you'll all be jumping for joy.
Songs are from: Our Souls, Das Kapitans, Sprainer, Rudimentary Paste, MICES and Spoilers.
-
It's returning guests this week, Blagged (formerly The Mustard) are back!
Manchester is their home and NOFX-y 90s inspired melodic skatepunk is their game. We get the lowdown on their first release, their new bass player (who is an MLPP veteran) and we get the full story around THAT name change.
We discuss the outcome of our "are the Proclaimers punk?" debate, Niall finally tells all about the day his butt exploded 5 years ago and Tom kicks off with a moan.
Music to accompany the moaning this week is from: Random Heroes, Jack Adamant, Descendents, Pat Decline and Big Fuckin Skull.
-
We've doubled the guest capacity at MLPP Towers this week as we welcome not one, but TWO bands in for a chat. Namely, Das Kapitans and MICES.
These Peterborough (Diesel City) and Norwich pop groups are releasing a split EP on Valentine's Day and they wanted to give you a taster.
We cover Norfolk slang terms, Norwich's traffic calming measures, appropriate times to wear ladies' tights, appropriate times to play with ladies' tights and of course we get an early look at their upcoming all-dayer (which features both bands), East Angrier X.

We discuss the urge for her to step out as a solo artist, dating apps, attractive food mascots, being cat-called, dick pics and of course what happens when someone dicks about with their keyboard before lending it to you.
Tom and Niallism share your new year's resolutions (as well as our own), we give you a heads up about two MLPP LIVE events that you can attend and Niall gives us the culinary rundown of what's hot and what's not ahead of a vegan Burns' night.
Music for you this time is from: Born Shit Stirrers, The Scoffs, Syndrome 81, W.O.R.M and The Meat Sweaters.
-
Happy New Year one and all!
What better way to bin off the old year than by remembering some stuff about it and discussing it with your mates?

Without giving too much away, music this week/year comes from: Fucked Up, White Trash Two Theys & a Jock, Dead Wet Things, Incisions, Clayface, Frenzal Rhomb, Fast Blood, The Dopamines and The Zatopeks.
-
Sunderland's hardest men, Dead Wet Things, have overpowered security at MLPP Towers this week. It's the perfect way to kick off your Christmas break!
Their origin story is as interesting as their songs, their sound is not what you'd call "traditional" punk, but we love 'em anyway!
Join us as we hear about their way of dealing with rude ex-members, get an insight into the Mackem diet, get all the details about their lyrics and their outlook on life.
Niall has a gig report for you all, we offer some helpful grammatical advice to people and we hear what Niallism's up to for the next festive fortnight.
Music comes from: Get The F Outta Dodge, The Bucky Bombs, Common Rider, Me First and The Gimme Gimmes and Tongue Party.
-
Lock up your stottie cakes, 'cause this week we're joined by Newcastle's very own Fast Blood. Well, we're joined by 50% of the band (and 50% of its Daves): Davey the drummer and Abi the vocalist.

Niallism's off at a pop concert this week so Tom has soldiered on ably assisted by Danny Barrett off The Crash Mats. We talk bad santas, unserious music journalists, offer advice to some social anxiety sufferers and get a gig report from Robin Hood's Bay.

Us and Punk Rock Elite Podcast put together a tribute to NOFX's Punk in Drublic album to commemorate its 30th anniversary. It's all for charity, so get it bought,
In order to breakdown and dissect this musical monolith, we've recruited the beast from the North East, Mick off Tearjerker, to do just that.
Listen in and be amazed at the variety on the comp, the sterling effort all bands have put in and be double amazed at the articulate way we describe the songs.
Which one of us has a secret musical theatre background? Which band inadvertently gets accused of living in a dingy basement? Just what is a "laid back night venue"? The only way to find out is by giving this a spin!
Musical Contributions are from: The Punk Cellist, Get The F Outta Dodge, Heligan, Tearjerker, Blagged, The Crash Mats, Loudmouth, White Trash, Two Theys and a Jock, Eat Defeat, Pat Decline, Zero Cost, Graham Aspinall, The Disposables, Hike The Peak, The Latchkey Kids, Austerity Dogs, Noah Skape, Bad Milk Blood Robot, Emilie Plamondon and Making Friends.
