This week Marsha welcomes Canadian painter and her beloved dance partner, Andrea Bolley on the podcast to tell the story behind Drake naming her “6MOM” and how she became known to be “the artist who can’t stop dancing” at some of the hottest clubs in Toronto and Hollywood.
Marsha and Andrea reflect on hitting the town together and dancing all night long. From Harriet’s to Delilah’s, and of course, to Poppy's– Andrea tells Marsha that she was discouraged from going out to dance at nightclubs by some of her closest friends and family members because of her age.
Andrea goes on to tell Marsha about her love for music, nightlife, and what it was like meeting Drake, Snoop Dogg, Director X, and Sean Paul for the first time.
Marsha and Andrea discuss ageism, social standards, and how to keep moving (and dancing) to keep your soul alive no matter what age you are.

Celebrity trainer and broadway dancer, Isaac Boots joins Marsha on the podcast to discuss how he built his online fitness community, TORCH’D, during what seemed like some of the darkest days of the pandemic.
Isaac tells Marsha that his love for movement started early on. As a young Hawaiian child, Isaac recalls watching Madonna on MTV and feeling inspired to dance, embrace his identity, and eventually move to New York City to become a performer on Broadway.

Though we’ve thought about what we want to be when we grow up, we’re not nearly as reflective about who we are now. Marsha sits down with her friend, singer-songwriter Bonnie Mckee to talk about what it meant to manifest her dreams as a teenage pop-star living in Hollywood, and ultimately, becoming one of the biggest co-writers for some of our favorite pop artists to this day– Katy Perry, Brittany Spears, Jason Derulo, Kelly Clarkson, Christina Aguilera (the list goes on).
Bonnie explains to Marsha that it wasn’t easy becoming a pop-star at age 16 after all. Shortly after her first album release, Bonnie tells Marsha she was lonely, broke, eventually dropped from her label, and struggled to work through a serious addiction to crystal meth.
Marsha and Bonnie discuss the business of songwriting, and how Bonnie figured out how to rebuild her life after hitting rock bottom. Bonnie also tells the story behind how she met, and eventually co-wrote some of the biggest hits for Katy Perry (“California Gurls,” “Teenage Dream,” “Last Friday Night”,and “Roar”).
The two conclude with a discussion on sobriety, and Bonnie shares her new endeavor as a director and actress, in her new short film “April Kills The Vibe.” Bonnie also tells Marsha about her new music dropping in 2023.

We all know her as one of the original cast members of the hit TV show Love and Hip Hop New York, but Marsha and Somaya Reece go WAY back. Remember Myspace? Actress Logan Browning (known for her starring role as Samantha in "Dear White People") tells Marsha about what it was like growing up as a child actor, moving to LA without her parents, and how she’s learning to navigate Hollywood as a Black female content creator.
Unlike most kids her age, Logan started her acting career at age 14. She remembers this being one of the loneliest times in her life. [2:44] Marsha opens up about having a lonely childhood as well, and not knowing where to belong. The two share an intimate moment about how scary finding acceptance and belonging can be. [14:56]
Logan talks about becoming a Black female director and honing in on the stories that feel true to the culture. She breaks down the narratives she finds in modern films that make her weary. [29:04]
Marsha asks Logan how she thinks we can teach young people to see a future for themselves, especially as current school curriculum history books certainly don't include everyone. Yet, Logan and Marsha conclude there’s a new history being taught everyday.

Marsha sits down with actor, author, and Golden Globe winner, Chris Colfer, to talk about queer representation in the media – more specifically, how his lead role on GLEE helped pave the way for the younger LGBTQIA+ community to see themselves on TV – and what it means to protect yourself from bullies, both on and off the screen.
The two start their conversation with high school; Chris tells Marsha that as a teen he was bullied a lot, and that there wasn’t a safe space to identify as gay. This reality followed Chris as he re-lived his high school experience all over again on the hit musical TV show, GLEE [21:04]
Chris goes on to talk about visibility and the impact of writing books for queer youth. He now has published over 15 novels and says some are in countries where being gay is still illegal. Chris knows this is a HUGE responsibility, but as a writer, he wants queer kids everywhere around the world to feel seen [38:52]
Marsha and Chris conclude the episode by calling out the need for more queer writers, directors, and actors. Without representation, there will be no future in uplifting the next generation of storytellers [1:12:35]

This episode is about fighting for your rights, fighting to be treated right, and fighting for your position. Not only having your own voice, but also having people advocate for you. Hall of Fame Marketing Executive, Bozoma Saint John, dives straight in with Marsha on this heartfelt and powerful conversation.
Boz talks about where her fire comes from within her soul—as a child, constantly having to speak up for herself. Moving from Ghana to Colorado Springs at 12 years old, she talks about the narrative that organizations like UNICEF and World Aid were telling everybody, “that African children were worth one penny.”
Marsha rewinds the clock to 2016 bringing Boz back to her memories of presenting at Apple's yearly World Wide Developers Conference (WWDC). At the time, Apple was facing major criticism in how male and white their presenters have been in the past. From her anxiety leading up to the event to her fashion and music choices, Boz gives us the real peek behind the curtain. in tearing down this glass ceiling — and by the way, Boz will tell you there isn’t just one glass ceiling, they keep on coming and you have to keep on breaking them.
The conversation then travels into the dark side of success. When you get to “the top”, there’s the weight of carrying everyone under your wing, and as you grow that weight gets heavier too.
They wrap up their conversation touching on the “failure of trying to fit in.” As these two badass career women will tell you, “we need to be ourselves or it’s not going to work.
