Now that I have Covid, I figure there is no better time than the present to talk about the topic of curing yourself! Getting sick is never fun. It really puts into perspective how we take being healthy for granted. As someone with a chronic illness, I understand the struggle to remain healthy in the face of it all, which is why in today’s episode I discuss how living authentically can cure chronic illness. Whether it is Hashimoto’s, PCOS, or IBS, 50% of your lifestyle is responsible for the outcome of your symptoms. Over the next 45 minutes, I share with you why you need to tackle chronic stress, focus on authentic alignment, and introduce nutrition that nourishes and heals you.

I've had a number of clients ask me about blood glucose levels and how to regulate them, and that’s because it has skyrocketed in popularity online. The downside to this is the immense amount of misinformation out there which is not only annoying but harmful and confusing. In this episode I am telling you everything you need to know about blood glucose levels, the importance of nutrition, and three ways to manage your blood sugar. I also update you on my pregnancy, dealing with weight gain, and how my fashion has changed since getting pregnant.

It’s important to really understand the concept of mentorship in the health sphere because the right mentor will make and break you. There are a million coaches, dieticians, nutritionists, and health coaches out there and not all of them will be for you. In fact, 95% of them will not be for you, and I know this from experience because I’ve gone through 30 practitioners myself, and made the mistake of really hiring all the wrong people. To illustrate this idea further, in this episode I discuss who you should hire to help you with your nutrition goals, breaking down the idea of the black-or-white continuum and how to commit to embracing healthy habits.

For the last three and a half months I feel as if someone blew my candle out. I had no motivation, no hope, and no desire to do anything, and it was awful. But my suffering is finally over, my candle has been relit and the old Becky is back! I never thought this would happen, but I feel back to my normal self and I am so grateful. My depression was intense during my first trimester, a cycle of hopelessness and no energy which made it really tricky for me to navigate. During this episode, I share more about my experience with prenatal depression and five tips I wish I could have shared with my past self during this time period.

Finally revealing my pregnancy has been such a big relief because I can be honest about what I'm doing and what I'm struggling with during my pregnancy. I am so excited for today’s episode of Luxury IBS, because I am doing a deep dive into this topic to give you tangible examples on the power of energy and magnetism of healing. This isn’t something that a lot of dietitians talk about, but I am so interested in this topic. People will tell you about how relationships, health, and money all have the same energy to them, and when you have one issue in this area it probably impacts the rest of it. During this episode, I share my own experience with this concept, in particular how TikTok has really shifted the way I see my own health and relationships. I talk about my TikTok journey growing and then losing my followers, how sometimes when you push harder for something to work the more it starts to work against you, when you need to use your feminine and masculine energy, and my own experience with human design and how I am using it in my day to day life. Today’s episode is inspired by a DM I received a few weeks ago from a new mom who feels like Adderall has become a crutch for her while she keeps up with the demands of having a newborn. I have been noticing that a lot of my clients have used Adderall in the past and some still use it today. I myself have used Adderall before, and I think it’s a topic that isn’t really discussed in depth. During the episode, I share my own experience with Adderall, how it impacted my IBS and life, the impact of Adderall on your neurotransmitters and digestive system, and seven ways you can rebalance your body if you’ve been a long-time user of Adderall.

If you have ever dealt with any form of gut health issues whether chronic or still undiagnosed, you have had to adopt a low FODMAP diet. This diet isn’t easy or fun, I know from personal experience, and I know many of you have struggled while being on it. Well, a low FODMAP diet isn’t always a long-term solution for everyone, and often what follows is the reintroduction of FODMAPs to determine your triggers or go back to eating “normally”. In this episode, I go over all things related to reintroducing FODMAPs into your diet. I share why I decided to reintroduce FODMAPs into my diet, trying to find a way to navigate a new diet from a grounded perspective, and the process I recommend for introducing FODMAPs and reversing your intolerances.

When we think of addictions, we often think of the major ones like drugs and alcohol, but in all honesty, there are so many other nontraditional forms of addiction that people are dealing with. In this episode, I cover different forms of addiction including social media, food, and even dopamine! Dopamine is not something we tend to think of as an addiction, but after listening to an episode of the Andrew Huberman podcast, my mind was totally blown! During this episode, I talk more about dopamine and the ways it shows up for us, what dopamine addiction looks like, and how our neurological function impacts our day-to-day life.

In today’s episode I talk about a popular weight loss drug that’s hit the market recently. Ozempic is a medicine traditionally used to treat adult type 2 diabetes however this injectable medication is now gaining popularity as a weight loss substitute. We know that weight loss, and extreme measures to lose weight, are all narratives of a toxic diet culture but why are people so willing to use medication to see the results? During the episode, I share my opinion about Ozempic from a dietician perspective, from an IBS standpoint, its pros and cons, and whether or not this drug will actually help you lose weight.

Today is my one year anniversary of launching Luxury IBS! Exactly a year ago, I was in Miami recording my episodes from a tiny closet, with absolutely no idea of what to expect on this journey. Starting this podcast was one of the best decisions of my life, both professionally and personally speaking, and I am so grateful for everything that has happened. In honor of this anniversary, this episode is dedicated to five things I learned from my year of podcasting. Following the Thanksgiving episode, I go deeper into what happened over the holidays when I decided I did not want to be a people pleaser anymore. I came to this realization through deep shadow words and inner child work, which helped me realize the path I was on did not benefit me at all. It can be easy to just go through life white-knuckling things and dealing with things you don't want to put up with are eventually going to negatively impact your life. In this episode, I share more about my experience with shadow words, how this impacted my Thanksgiving dinner, and how I have never felt more content and comfortable with myself in a long time.
