CC and Val take a look at the lies we tell, to ourself, and others. We all do it, but why? What are the prices we pay for them--and the pay-offs we get from them? Telling the truth can be uncomfortable short-term, but long-term it's freeing. Val shares a story and suggests with one bottom-line: trust your gut. CC says: guard your in-to-me-see.

CC and Val discuss places that evoke emotion; places like Stonehenge, or cemeteries, where energy can be felt. But, are all "sacred" spaces also "spiritual"? Perhaps connecting to nature, all by itself, without buildings in which to pray (or poop) is spiritual all by itself. But then how do we wind up talking Twin Peaks...?

CC and Val share their favourite quotes - the ones that have inspired, informed or comforted them over the years. CC mostly shares dead people's words, while Val sources strength from musicians. There's tears and laughs in this episode. And remember: you can catch us on YouTube now: https://youtu.be/vDsZbOtbhK8

CC and Val continue their reflections on the ripple effects of the recent US election - and then suddenly veer to UFOs and aliens...say wha-a-t?? The fact is that we are surrounded by uncertainty and seek safety and structure during tumultuous times. And many are still struggling with pandemic PTSD, not to mention mask guilt. Val finishes with a particularly good news story, so all is not doom and gloom.

CC and Val share their responses to the results of the U.S. Presidential election. Val gets real, and unexpectedly emotional as she shares her opinion, and CC offers a perspective that might help lift the disappointment: perhaps this is the chrysalis stage in our evolution...? But they still found some funny this week, a pleasant surprise in the face of so much angst.

CC and Val trade notes on the books that have impacted them the most over the course of their lives. The ones that altered the way they view themselves, the world and how they fit into it. WE limited to 4 books each, though we could have kept going. Words: They matter.

CC and Val talk about Halloween this week. Well, Val does most of the talking as she is a witch (a good one) and shares some interesting facts about the origins of what we now celebrate with "trick or treat' and all things spooky. And then she mentions entities, different from demons, and off we go! (Apologies for CC's mike - we fixed it for next week's episode.)

CC and Val continue the discussion on human consciousness as measured on a frequency scale developed by Dr. David R. Hawkins. His seminal book, Power vs. Force, lays the groundwork for our new understanding of how people can rise above discomfiting feelings and situations. And CC shares a family feel-good moment.

Wherein CC and Val introduce the scientific research and results of Dr. David R. Hawkins' groundbreaking work in the field of kinesiology and human consciousness. CC provides a broad framework for understanding what it means while Val listens attentively. Next week we discuss why it's important and ways to accelerate your progress.

CC and Val discuss the public fascination with "clicks" on social media and their own experience with the dopamine "hits" provided by posts that took off last week. This prompted a discussion about the reasons why they decided to start podcasting in the first place, and why they're also now videotaping their weekly podcast. And CC gets unexpectedly emotional. It happens.

Wherein in CC and Val talk the underbelly of human nature and the systemic abuse issues which exist in almost any industry, not just music and entertainment. It's about power and control. And money. And it ain't a new story - simply a continuation of a very old one. Join us on Oct 1 for this, our first video podcast recording, at: https://youtu.be/C5yZKff9Rt4

Wherein CC and Val talk (again) about our human tendency to take a future worry and wrap it up in even worse scenarios. Wayne Dyer labeled it "awfulizing". "And if this happens, then that might happen, and then..." We're all guilty of this. But why? Why do we do it?

Wherein CC and Val discuss the value of grounding and its association with the root chakra: what it is, what it means, what it does, and how it benefits us. Along the way there are detours, as usual, like what Val's mini-me looks like. And our need for, attraction to, and connection with trees and the soil itself. It's all connected.

Wherein CC and Val talk aging, the pluses and minuses, the good, the bad and the ugly. From wrinkles, to dribbles, to hard-earned wisdom, it may not be a pretty journey -- but it can be a beautiful one. At least, that's what we're told. If we stay present.

Wherein CC and Val ruminate on the first forty episodes of Loose Ends and share some of our favourite moments - the ones that made us laugh the hardest or struck home or provoked tears. On this Labour Day, join us for some insights and belly laughs as we say farewell to summer.

Wherein CC and Val banter about words and phrases and their origins. From contronyms like "bolt" and "cleave" to idioms we toss about idly, such as "tying the knot" or "beating around the bush" or "giving a cold shoulder", if you like to laugh while you learn, enjoy this episode. We sure did.

Wherein CC and Val try to recreate our previous episode on enthusiasm that CC screwed up. This one turned out different. What with a full moon, a superman at that, as well as the first night of the DNC in the States and the enthusiasm around Kamala Harris, we get quite philosophical about the notion of enthusiasm -- we had stuff to say! As did Kali, who joined the discussion. We got excited. Blame the moon.

Wherein CC shares a spoken word poem entitled How Deep is Today? which she published in 2017. We provide all sorts of transition time for children headed to bed--bath, books, quiet time--but for us adults? Not so much. So, CC wrote a bed-time story for adults about trust and courage. Hope you enjoy! (And an apology: we totally screwed up last week - will re-do our thoughts on "enthusiasm" and post soon. Thanks for your understanding :)
