Rod Babers, Matt Butler and Jeff Howe start to examine the impact Johnny Nansen can have on Pete Kwiatkowski and the Texas defense in 2024.
When Kwiatkowski has changed things up from one season to the next in his time on the Forty Acres, it's been of case of bringing the right voice into the meeting room at the right time. That could be the case with Nansen, whose Arizona defenses deployed the kind of exotic looks and diverse fronts that can help the Longhorns overcome the losses of Byron Murphy and T'Vondre Sweat.

Rod Babers, Matt Butler and Jeff Howe discuss the addition of former San Jose State cornerback Jay'Vion Cole from the NCAA transfer portal and Quinn Ewers' history with the deep ball. Cole brings a lot to the table for a Texas secondary starved for more athletes who can be sticky in coverage and while Ewers has struggled to consistently hit on the deep ball down the field, he improved a lot in that department in 2023 and could be even better in 2024.

Rod Babers, Matt Butler and Jeff Howe discuss the first week of Texas spring practice. With four practices in the books, who are the early standouts and what are the storylines emerging from the practice field? Whether it's a revamped secondary, a (hopefully) improved pass rush or what makes the running back group special, it looks and sounds like Steve Sarkisian has the Longhorns ready to compete in the SEC in 2024 based on the early feedback and limited eye test during practices.
