Ken has been involved in aviation since 1997 when he created the first version of the Pilot Partner electronic logbook. In this episode of Logbook Memories, our friend Kirby tells the story of a trip he and his girlfriend took to Ingalls Field (KHSP), the highest public-use airport east of the Mississippi River. It's a very picturesque airport, but that's not the only reason they chose to go there.

Rod Rakic, founder of OpenAirplane and FlyOtto, tells the story of a flight he and his companions took from Opa Locka near Miami, FL down to Key West. And yes, there was pie.
Rod founded OpenAirplane with the goal of making renting an airplane as easy as renting a car. The mission: rent an airplane at an unfamiliar FBO, sight unseen, avoiding the red tape and typical "local checkout", fly somewhere awesome, and return the airplane without having to spend hours going over local procedures with an instructor from the FBO. And it worked.
If you are interested in joining the OpenAirplane network, either as a pilot or a provider, head on over to http://openairplane.com.

Victoria is an experienced commercial pilot with a confidence problem. She found herself having lots of time in her logbook, but the circumstances under which she flew those hours began to make her a rusty pilot. When she realized this, she began to doubt her abilities. Victoria tells the story of her struggles to overcome this confidence and competency problem in the cockpit, and the victory that ensures months later.
The first segment of this episode was recorded at the 2018 SUN 'n FUN Fly-In on the deck of SUN 'n FUN Radio. There's a lot of background noise, so we hope you we bear with us as we add a little "atmosphere" to the episode.
We would like to thank Victoria for taking the time to talk to us on the show. She was open and honest about her flying experiences. Hopefully this episode encourages more pilots to take a close look at their flying experiences. We can all be better in some area of aviation.
