Scrupulosity is a form of OCD that affects about 5% of the Western population. It can be especially prevalent in religious communities, like members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I have worked with and know many people who experience this challenge.
In marriage, where sexuality is an important part of the relationship, when one (or both) partner experiences scrupulosity, sexual expression can become complicated. In this podcast episode, I visit with almost Dr. Bonnie Young about scrupulosity and sex. Bonnie is full of practical suggestions that can really help individuals and couples who are suffering.
If you know someone who experiences scrupulosity, PLEASE share this episode with them! There is hope and excellent help for them. -
