  • This episode is about enhancing our communication skills but it’s not your regular communication class, rather we’ll understand how men and women communicate differently, how we perceive them differently and how women can turn biases to their favour.

I am speaking with Sanjana Chowhan who is a seasoned communications coach and has empowered over 400 individuals in the art of confident and clear communication. More than a coach, Sanjana is a catalyst for change, particularly championing transparency and vulnerability in communication among women. She advocates for recognising and valuing one's self-worth, elevating communication from a mere skill to a tool for empowerment.

  • Today we are talking about fitness but it’s not gonna be about looking like a Victoria’s Secret model. Rather it’s about heart health, how it affects your fitness levels, what resting and target heart rates are, how to optimise our fitness levels with cardio and strength training. Good health also helps in improving our mental health. We start simple and go deep into it because my guest Drishti Chhabria is an expert here.

  • You can have it all, just not all at the same time. A lot of us have heard this quote but who decides what does ‘all’ even mean? Not everybody wants the C-suite job or an eight figure business. Not every woman wants to have a partner and many of them don’t want kids. So even though we all have different versions of ‘all’, it’s difficult to let go of societal expectations, social media noise and our own conditioning. This messes up our mental health everyday. But there are ways to define what you want, what is your ‘all’ in the current phase of your life and how to go about it. You’ll discover everything in this episode with my multi-talented guest. Krusha Sahjwani Malkani is an ICF certified career and life coach for women helping them to find and achieve their version of having it all. She's also the Director of a SaaS company, a LinkedIn Top Voice, a published author of fiction and a mother. Let’s find out-

-what does having it all mean

-why the expectation from women are higher

-can we really have it all

-how to find out what we want

It’s difficult to slow down and get some perspective but there are certain things that we can do for ourselves which will help in improving our mental health. Simple, little things that you don’t have to do daily and I do a few of them. In this episode, I share eleven things that help me in keeping my sanity. I don’t do all of them daily and even you don’t have to follow all of them or any of them. Do what you feel like. Take this episode as a reminder to not forget yourself. Keep learning to love yourself.

  • This episode has glamour, reality and inspiration like a blockbuster movie. My daughter wants to be a model but I am sceptical because in the media, I have mostly seen horror stories about this industry. Things like addiction and casting couch are highlighted more when it comes to modelling so when the team from modelling agency Auraa Talents reached out regarding a podcast interview, I knew I had to do it. I am speaking with Arpita Das who is a former model & founder and CEO of Auraa talents which is a modelling institution and talent management agency.

    Arpita talks about-

-how modelling is like any other profession and busts the biggest myths about it

-inclusivity in terms of skin tones and body sizes

-her view on casting couch and on how to stay away from predators

-on the practical side, we talk about the longevity of a model’s career and the perks of being a model

-opportunities and challenges for upcoming models

-tips on successfully navigating the modelling landscape

And she shares her story of becoming an entrepreneur from a model

So join us and share this episode with someone who wants to be a model or with a parent whose children are interested in modelling.

  • I love doing this podcast but rarely talk about it when meeting people. I don’t want to sound salesy but the truth is that if we don’t talk about our work, people won’t get to know about it. Our message won’t reach people who need it and also we won’t be able to earn well.

To reduce our fear of selling, I am speaking with business mentor Ishita Khattar in this episode.

Ishita is a corporate lawyer turned business mentor and coach. She also has her own podcast Dream Life Collective. She started her coaching business in 2022 as a productivity coach and then transitioned to business coaching. She helps coaches grow their business to their first 6 figures with strategy and intentionality. She is also a hands-on mom to a 5 year old boy. So, she is the perfect person to learn from.

  • As much as I love talking about mental health and related topics, I also like a freewheeling discussion and what can be more fun than discussing pop-culture and understanding each other better. That’s why today I have a person with me who has got the pulse of pop-culture. It's none other than Aastha Atray, the editor of Sunday Midday, an author and one of the pioneering podcasters in India.

How people think, why they think in a certain way, how to improve our lives in little ways and how we can make our lives simpler and more fulfilling.

This is not a sociology class and you might have a different point of view but this episode will give you something to think about and something to work on. So join me and Aastha and don’t forget to share the episode with your friends.

  • Trigger Warning- This episode contains references to domestic violence, suicide, anxiety and depression so please listen at your own discretion.

All of us go through many unfavourable situations and feel all kinds of emotions. Some of us have a support system but not everyone is so fortunate. This is where mental health helplines come in. The counsellors listen to you and provide the right guidance. Many women are unsure about reaching out to such helplines so in this episode I am speaking with a person who works with a mental health helpline called Muktaa.

Shreya Subbannavar is a Project Coordinator at Muktaa Mental Health Helpline. She is a Psychologist who practices using an eclectic but, mainly a Person Centred approach with some tools of Arts-Based Therapy as well. She was a crisis line responder for Aks Foundation for 5 years and has experience working with denotified tribes - focusing on their education and mental health as well.

We talk about how helplines work, how they can help you and how your privacy is protected. We also talk about how we as society can help people around us who might be going through certain challenges.

Please share this episode with someone who you feel might benefit from it.

  • I love fashion, always have. My sartorial sense has improved over the years but I do make wrong fashion choices like most of us laypersons. To minimize the mistakes and to bring our style more on point, I have a fashion expert with me. Benaisha Kharas is a master image consultant & integrated personal counsellor. She is passionate about infusing self-love and self-care in her clients, so that they can develop a powerful, influential, and charismatic personality. She imparts skills on the art and science of emotional well-being and image management to women, young adults, professionals from corporates and even fashion brands.

    She tells us-

    -what is style

-how do we find our personal style

-how to balance personal style with trends

    -should fashion be age appropriate

    -Western wardrobe essentials

    -Indian wardrobe essentials

    -Benaisha’s favourite budget friendly brands

I wanted to discuss a lot more but the time limit stopped us. Anyway, this episode is value packed whether you are a total fashionista or in the process of discovering your style. - why is it essential to discuss mental health

    - why open communication is difficult

    - constructive conflict

    - practices for better mental health in relationships

    And more.

I am speaking with Nandita Basu. Nandita is a comic-book artist and a musician. She loves to daydream, eat gummy bears, play music and draw. The Piano, her first book, received wide critical acclaim. Her latest book is Starry Starry Night.

Nandita’s definition of death is quite interesting and we’ll talk about how we adults can come to terms with it before explaining death to our kids. How to deal with loss and grief and how art and music help.

  • Trigger warning- The episode contains references to suicide and self-harm, please use your discretion before listening.

This episode is more of a free flowing conversation around mental health in pop-culture. I am speaking with Tanmoy Goswami who is a user-survivor and the creator of Sanity, an independent mental health storytelling platform with a reader community spanning over 50 countries. He is a past fellow of the Reuters Institute, University of Oxford, and a LinkedIn Top Voice in Social Impact. He serves on lived experience panels and committees across the world, and is a jury member for the Project SIREN Awards that recognises journalistic excellence on the topic of suicide prevention.

It’s a nuanced discussion for inquisitive minds and for people looking to bring about even a tiny change when it comes to mental health. We’ll talk about the pros and cons of therapy-speak becoming a part of everyday language as in everyone throwing around terms like trauma, depression, OCD etc. I and Tanmoy also discuss trauma dumping, the importance of acknowledging lived experiences and other related topics that affect all of us.

Please bear in mind that neither me nor Tanmoy is a mental-health professional and we are simply sharing our experiences and learnings in an attempt to help.
