Our relationship with our fathers profoundly affects us. That’s why, when Jesus is revealed as another Father, our relationship with Him becomes even more personal. However, we often project our experiences with our earthly father onto our Everlasting Father, leading to misconceptions. So, what do we need to know about God the Father?
Your Father is Present: The name Immanuel means "God with us." Jesus reassured His disciples of His constant presence through the Holy Spirit. God is omnipresent, meaning He is everywhere at all times. This truth is especially comforting during the holiday season when loneliness peaks. Even if your earthly father was absent, your Heavenly Father is always present, emotionally and physically.
Your Father is Perfect: God's perfection means He is complete and makes no mistakes. Trusting in God's perfection helps us rely on His plans rather than our feelings. Life's challenges may make us feel off course, but God’s timing and plans are always perfect. This Christmas, trust not only in God’s love and power but also in His perfection.
Your Father is a Protector: The Bible frequently describes God as a shield, offering protection, shade, and shelter. Sometimes, God’s protection is evident in closed doors and unanswered prayers, safeguarding us from harm and poor decisions. We often realize the extent of His protection only in hindsight, acknowledging His guidance and care throughout our lives.
Your Father is a Provider: God delights in providing for His children, whether it's comfort in sorrow, healing in sickness, or wisdom in decision-making. He doesn’t just meet our physical needs but also our spiritual needs, offering grace and forgiveness through Jesus’ sacrifice.

Did you know we serve a Mighty God? His power is incredible and still relevant today. In the past, seas were parted, thousands were fed with a few loaves of bread, and even the dead were raised to life. But God’s power isn’t just seen in big miracles—it’s also in the small, everyday moments. Scientists have discovered a spark of light at the moment life begins, showing that life itself is a miracle, with each person created intentionally and with care.
The most amazing display of this power is how God chose to become human. Jesus, who could command the universe, was born as a tiny, helpless baby, relying on Mary and Joseph for care. This act, called the incarnation, shows that true power is about serving others. Early Christians understood this, giving to those in need and trusting God to provide, even in tough times.
God’s power isn’t just about fixing problems but being close to us in our struggles. When Lazarus died, Jesus didn’t just perform a miracle—he wept with the family. This shows that even in our hardest moments, we are not alone. This Christmas, remember that God’s power is active in both the big and small moments. Every struggle is seen, and every challenge can be faced with strength because the same mighty God who worked miracles then is still at work now.

One of the most beautiful descriptions of Jesus is that He is our Wonderful Counselor. A counselor guides us with wisdom, helps us in our struggles, and leads us toward healing. Jesus does all that and more. He knows us better than anyone else—our pain, heartbreak, and even the things we try to hide. To experience true healing, we need to be brutally honest about our struggles. When we give God our weaknesses, He doesn’t just help us cope—God transforms them into something beautiful that brings glory.
Sometimes, healing is messy. It might feel worse before it gets better. But if we trust Jesus and listen to His voice, He will guide us, even when His ways don’t make sense at first. He uses the hard parts of our story to show His power and love.
Jesus came to step into our mess, not to condemn us but to bring healing and hope. This Christmas, invite Him into your life, trust His wisdom, and let Him turn your struggles into a testimony of His goodness.

We want to give you a glimpse into what God is calling Liquid Church to do in 2025. Be encouraged: What we do today will matter in 100 years and for all of eternity. You can leave a legacy and our work begins today.
As a church, we have four areas we want to focus on in 2025. The first is Bible Literacy. The church is prioritizing deepening Bible understanding across all age groups. The second area of focus is on the Next Generation. Liquid Church is investing in Gen Z and Gen Alpha through mentorship, scholarships for high school seniors, and programs tailored for their spiritual growth. This generational focus aims to shape minds with Scripture and equip youth to engage with faith in today’s culture.
Our third initiative will be Church Expansion. Growth plans include launching Spanish services in key locations, supported by AI-translated sermons. The church is also pursuing permanent locations for its Somerset and Middlesex County Campuses.
And, our fourth initiative is Global Outreach, specifically the Clean Water Cause. New efforts will focus on large-scale water projects and building churches in the Dominican Republic, providing both physical and spiritual resources to underserved communities.

Why should you get baptized? If you’ve given your life to Jesus, then baptism is the next step for you. Here’s why: Baptism is a powerful step that shows your life has been changed because of Jesus! Baptism is a public way of saying, “I believe in Jesus, and I’m committing my life to Him.”
Baptism is a symbol of the new life that Jesus gives us. When you go down into the water, it represents leaving behind your old ways, and when you come up, it shows you’re raised into a new life with Jesus.
Through baptism, you’re also showing that you’re ready to receive the Holy Spirit—God’s Spirit who lives in us, helping us grow, giving us strength, and guiding us in faith. When you make the decision to be baptized, you’re choosing to open your heart to the power of the Holy Spirit, who will work in you and through you.
If you’ve accepted Jesus but haven’t been baptized yet, consider taking this step!.

When the Apostle Paul visited Ephesus, he found a city filled with idols, statues, and altars to pagan gods on every corner. Ephesus was notorious for black magic and the occult. They practiced witchcraft and sorcery. They had scrolls full of spells, incantations, and magic curses. The Bible FORBIDS all of this!
You should know that if you’re a follower of Jesus Christ, you shouldn’t have anything to do with this stuff. It’s not innocent. It’s not a hobby. It’s not fun – it’s literally opening a door to the demonic. Tarot cards, Wiccan candles, herbs, astrology, mediums and psychics – even dabbling with these offers the devil a foothold in your life, because satan is extremely powerful. So, learn a lesson from the Ephesians. When they learned the truth of Jesus and saw the Holy Spirit at work, they abandoned their witchcraft and black magic.
So, here’s a question to consider – what are your modern day idols and strongholds? When you’re in tune with the Holy Spirit, sometimes God will speak to you about everyday idols that aren’t demonic, but they are distracting, taking your time and attention away from God! Could it be a porn collection on your computer? A playlist that’s perverse? Music that pollutes your mind? If you want to live a spiritually powerful life, you need to cut ties!

If you believe in Jesus, most likely there’s someone in your life (that you love) that doesn't believe in Jesus. Maybe they walked away from God or never had a relationship with Him in the first place. And you’re praying that will change.
So, how do you share your faith with people who disagree with you? How do you share your faith with people who you know are going to be hard to convince?
#1) Build a bridge to others. You may be walking into a tough conversation, but the goal isn’t to argue or debate or to win an argument. The goal is to win someone’s heart and soul for Christ!
#2) Affirm their spiritual curiosity – even if it’s misguided. Be loving. Be engaging. Remember, they may be far from God, but God put them close to you and you need to keep the lines of communication open.
#3) Connect Christ to the culture. We watch the Apostle Paul do this in the Bible. His philosophy was: “I become all things to all men that I might by all means, save some!”
#4) Ultimately, obedience is our responsibility, but the outcome is God’s. IOW – it’s your responsibility to reach out to others and share your faith with those in your path, but you can’t control the outcome.

Have you ever felt like you have had strong pushback in your spiritual life? When we choose to follow Jesus, we’ll sometimes face resistance—often called “spiritual warfare.” This resistance can show up as doubts, distractions, or even a strong temptation to give up. The enemy (yes, Satan is real), doesn’t want us to live for God, so he’ll sometimes try to discourage us in subtle ways, making us question our purpose or feel alone in our journey.
Many people turn to things like horoscopes or fortune-telling to feel secure, but these only create more confusion. Real peace and wisdom comes from God, who has already given us strength through His Spirit. Jesus reminds us that we aren’t alone in these struggles—He is with us, helping us to stay focused and secure. Through prayer, worship, or simply asking for strength, we can feel His peace come into our lives.
While we might still experience struggles, we can have confidence that Jesus has already overcome the forces of darkness.

Did you know that God both opens doors and closes them? We need to learn to trust in God and that means accepting when He says “no,” just as much as accepting when He says “yes.” Both answers are a part of God’s bigger plan for our lives. If we believe that God guides our STEPS, then we also must believe He guides our STOPS. Think about it… God may block your path, maybe you won't get the job or the girl or the house you prayed for because God is actually leading you to a greater purpose.
This is what happens to the Apostle Paul. On his second missionary journey (Acts 16-19 in the Bible), Paul wanted to revisit churches in the north, but God stopped him—twice! This was a big moment because, until then, Christianity was mostly for Jews in places like Jerusalem and Turkey. But God had a greater purpose—He gave Paul a vision to go to Macedonia (in Greece), which opened the door for the Gospel to spread to Europe and the Gentiles. This enabled the further spread of Christianity! God has a plan for Paul that started by stopping him!

Did you know we all have a soundtrack playing in our head? That soundtrack is the negative thoughts that run through our minds on repeat. These "soundtracks" can hold us back from stepping into the life God has for us. Studies show that a surprising 75% of our repetitive thoughts are negative, and those thoughts can keep us stuck in self-doubt and fear, just like they did for Moses.
Moses, a key figure in the Bible, was called by God to lead the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt. But instead of eagerly accepting his purpose, Moses felt unworthy. He questioned whether he was good enough because of his past mistakes and insecurities. God’s response to Moses was simple but powerful: “I will be with you.”
When God calls us to serve, it’s not about our abilities or qualifications—it’s about trusting in God’s power and presence. Just like Moses, we may feel inadequate, but God promises to equip and guide us.
Are you ready to serve others and make a difference? God is calling you to step up. Don’t let those negative soundtracks hold you back. When you trust that God is with you, you’ll discover you’re capable of more than you ever imagined!

Over the last decade, more young people have struggled with things like anxiety, depression, and self-harm. As parents or caring adults, it’s natural to feel overwhelmed, unsure of what to do. But here’s some good news: You don’t have to be a professional to make a difference. Love and connection can play a powerful role in healing.
Mental health challenges aren’t just about finding a doctor or therapist—though that’s important. Healing also involves social support and emotional care. God created our brains in a way that responds to love. When kids feel safe, loved, and understood, their brains can actually begin to heal from the inside. This is because love triggers something in our brains that helps us feel more secure and calm.
You don’t have to be perfect. What really matters is being present and showing up for your kids. Spending time together and making eye contact helps them feel connected to you. It’s not about always getting it right, but about showing that you care.
When we make our kids feel seen and understood, it’s like showing them a glimpse of the love and care God has for them. That kind of love has the power to heal, and it starts with simply being there.

Parenting is a profound responsibility that shapes future generations, spiritually, emotionally, and relationally. It requires intentionality, risk, and guidance. The Bible emphasizes that children are blessings and arrows that need careful direction. However, many parents miss the mark in three key ways: risking too little, rescuing too quickly, and modeling too weakly.
Risking too little: Parents today are often overprotective, shielding their children from pain and failure, which robs them of confidence. Allowing children to take risks builds faith and resilience.
Rescuing too quickly: By rushing to save children from consequences, parents prevent them from learning critical life lessons. Failure teaches responsibility, perseverance, and helps children understand the biblical principle of sowing and reaping. Consequences lead to growth, and ultimately, a deeper dependence on God.
Modeling too weakly: Children absorb more from what they see than what they hear. Parents must live out their faith authentically—showing love, worship, and generosity in daily life. Hypocrisy drives children away from God, but modeling genuine faith anchors them.
The goal of parenting is not to raise perfect kids but to guide them toward God’s purpose. By taking risks, facing consequences, and modeling faith, parents prepare children to be arrows of light sent out to impact the world.

Are you feeling the weight of the world raising your kids in these times? Parenting today is challenging, especially with the complex world your children face. Kids encounter anxiety, depression, bullying, and overwhelming exposure to information through technology at an early age. As parents, it's natural to question if you’re making the right choices.
You might unintentionally make three mistakes that could hurt your children: giving them things they haven't earned, offering praise they don't deserve, and granting freedoms they can't handle. Giving without effort can foster entitlement, while overpraising can create anxiety by setting unrealistic standards. Allowing too much freedom, like unrestricted access to technology, can expose them to harmful influences they’re not ready for.
Instead, focus on three essential gifts. First, provide them with a community worth having by surrounding them with people who share your values. Second, give them a standard worth achieving by setting high expectations that build character and integrity. Finally, nurture a faith worth sharing by encouraging a genuine relationship with God, guiding their choices, and providing a strong foundation. These gifts help prepare your children not only for today’s challenges but also for a meaningful, purpose-driven life.

Life often brings unexpected challenges—like storms that leave us feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or alone. We all have moments when we think we are strong and secure, but then difficulties come, and we realize how fragile we can be.
There’s a story in the New Testament of the Bible where Jesus calms a raging storm, and this story illustrates the idea that peace can be found even in the middle of chaos. In this Bible story, the disciples who were caught in the storm felt helpless and afraid. But, with a simple command, Jesus brought stillness to the storm, and calm was restored. Likewise, even when everything feels out of control in our lives today, we can take heart because there is a way to find peace with God.
This story teaches us about building resilience and finding inner strength through Christ. When life feels like there’s too much to handle, it's important to remember that peace is possible. Do not despair when faced with a storm. Instead, trust that you have what it takes to get through, and find comfort in knowing that every storm will eventually pass.
