She later pursued a master's degree in bilingual education and obtained administrative certifications. Throughout her teaching career, Melissa continued to pursue her love for dance, particularly salsa and Latin dance, and immersed herself in the vibrant Hispanic music culture for over 20 years. Despite these challenges, Lita developed a strong love for learning, often choosing books and notebooks over toys.
Lita started as a preschool teacher in a private provider setting and later taught in the Elizabeth Public Schools in New Jersey.
