Another season to forget.
The Denver Broncos put the finishing touches on yet another losing season this past weekend, extending their NFL playoff drought for a sixth consecutive year.
Those events led to the firing of former head coach Vic Fangio on Sunday, which kickstarted the 2022 offseason.
In his latest podcast, 9NEWS insider Mike Klis recaps Denver's campaign, addresses the Fangio decision and discusses what will come next for the organization -- which is facing major coaching and ownership questions.

Playoffs? It's a longshot.
Denver's postseason hopes took a major hit on Sunday when the Broncos dropped a crucial game to the Cincinnati Bengals at home. And although they aren't technically eliminated, playoff chances are slim.
In the latest edition of his podcast "Klis' Mike Drop," our 9NEWS Broncos insider Mike Klis discusses that game in which starting quarterback Teddy Bridgewater was injured, bringing back Drew Lock.
Klis sits down for an exclusive interview with offensive lineman Quinn Meinerz, who will be tasked with protecting Lock in his first start since last season when the Broncos play the rival Raiders in Las Vegas this weekend.
He also digs in to the Pro Bowl snubs for Denver -- which did not receive a selection for the first time since 1980.

The 2021 Broncos are nearly impossible to figure out.
Every time you think they're "good" they go out and suffer a "bad" loss. Every time fans are ready to give up, Denver delivers a huge win to keep its playoff hopes alive.
In the latest edition of his podcast "Klis' Mike Drop," our 9NEWS Broncos insider Mike Klis discusses the latest big victory for the Broncos, a drubbing of the Chargers last Sunday at Empower Field at Mile High. The offense did just enough, but the defense was the story of the game, particularly with stud rookie Pat Surtain II having two interceptions. And, oh yeah, the second one he returned for a touchdown.
Klis then goes 1-on-1 with Broncos pass rusher Bradley Chubb, a former top-5 pick that has battled injuries the last couple of seasons. Klis discusses the trade of Chubb's old friend Von Miller, his health and how he can make a big impact for Denver down the stretch.
Finally, Mike looks at Denver's showdown with the Chiefs on Sunday Night Football. First place in the AFC West is at stake and it's the Broncos' biggest game since Super Bowl 50. How does Denver shock the NFL and get a road win to break its 11-game losing streak to the Chiefs? Mike has some ideas.

The 2021 Denver Broncos are still alive.
While some fans might be down on the team after the disappointing loss to the Eagles before the bye, sitting at 5-5 the Broncos are still very much alive in the crowded AFC West. The next two weeks will dictate everything, though.
In the latest edition of his podcast "Klis' Mike Drop," our 9NEWS Broncos insider Mike Klis discusses where the Broncos stand coming off their bye week, the fallout from Teddy Bridgewater's lackluster effort on one key play against the Eagles and how Denver is still in playoff contention.
Klis then goes 1-on-1 with Broncos linebacker Kenny Young, a key acquisition from the Rams earlier this season. Young has now been traded twice in his early career and opens up to Mike about the challenges of adjusting to a new team after doing a seemingly good job for his previous one.
Finally, Mike looks at Denver's showdown with the Chargers this weekend. Mike thinks Los Angeles could be exhausted coming off a wild win over the Steelers on Sunday night, and the Broncos could take advantage of that to steal a victory.

What an unbelievable win.
The Denver Broncos went to Dallas and shocked the Cowboys on Sunday, winning 30-16 in a game that was never even that close. Denver led 30-0 midway through the fourth quarter before a couple of late garbage time TDs from Dallas.
In the latest edition of his podcast "Klis' Mike Drop," our 9NEWS Broncos insider Mike Klis discusses the stunning win and what it means for Denver's season moving forward. Mike also recaps recent COVID-19 issues that have affected the team and injuries as well.
Klis then goes 1-on-1 with Broncos rookie Baron Browning, a key piece for Denver at linebacker after the group has been hit hard by injuries. Browning has battled his own issues throughout the season but is contributing in big ways right now, provided he can stay healthy.
Finally, Mike sends his condolences to Denver GM George Paton, whose father passed away over the weekend. Mike then takes a look at the team's massive game against the Eagles, one that will determine if the Broncos are serious playoff contenders should they get the win and enter their bye week at 6-4.

Can you believe it's really over?
The Denver Broncos traded arguably the best defensive player in franchise history earlier this week, shipping Von Miller to the Los Angeles Rams in exchange for second- and third-round selections in the 2022 NFL Draft.
In the latest edition of his podcast "Klis' Mike Drop," our 9NEWS Broncos insider Mike Klis discusses the trade, one of the biggest and most notable in team history. Did the Broncos get fair value for Miller? Why weren't other veterans traded as well? How does the money and salary cap situation all work out? Mike answers those questions and more.
Klis then goes 1-on-1 with Broncos kicker Brandon McManus, the lone remaining player on Denver's roster from Super Bowl 50 now that Miller is gone. McManus and Miller were also good buddies, so McManus offers insight on their friendship.
Finally, Mike gets back to the game, as the Broncos will travel to Dallas to play the red hot Cowboys on Sunday. QB Dak Prescott will be under center for Dallas after missing last week's win in Minnesota, so pulling off an upset will be tough. Playing against one of the best offenses in the league, Denver's underachieving defense will certainly have its hands full.

It's go time.
The Denver Broncos are facing a must-win at home on Sunday against Washington after losing four straight games to fall to 3-4 on the season. That promising 3-0 start feels like a memory of the distant past.
In the latest edition of his podcast "Klis' Mike Drop," our 9NEWS Broncos insider Mike Klis discusses what went wrong in Cleveland last week on Thursday night football, specifically the Browns' opening drive that helped lead to yet another Denver loss.
Mike then goes 1-on-1 with rookie running back Javonte Williams, one of the lone bright spots on the Denver roster so far this season. Williams has been a powerful runner and made some electrifying plays through seven games.
Finally, Mike takes a look at the game this weekend against Washington. While Peyton Manning entering the team's Ring of Fame is the highlight, there could also be jobs on the line for several Denver coaches, including the head coach Vic Fangio.

The season has taken a turn in the wrong direction.
After starting out 3-0, the Denver Broncos have dropped four games in a row, including Thursday night's loss at Cleveland.
In his latest podcast, 9NEWS insider Mike Klis takes a look back at what went wrong for the Broncos, who lost to Browns backup QB Case Keenum, who used to play here in Denver.
Mike goes 1-on-1 with head coach Vic Fangio, linebacker Von Miller and running back Melvin Gordon in the postgame locker room, then takes a look ahead to next week's game against the Washington Football Team.

It's about time.
Former Broncos head coach Mike Shanahan, who won two Super Bowls with Denver, will be inducted into the team's Ring of Fame this weekend when the Broncos host the Las Vegas Raiders. The ceremony will take place at halftime.
In the latest edition of his podcast "Klis' Mike Drop," our 9NEWS Broncos insider Mike Klis sits down with the best head coach in team history for an interview about what the induction means to Shanahan, his time with the Broncos, the storied history of the franchise and plenty more.
Mike also takes a look at Denver's huge game against the Raiders on Sunday, who will be without former head coach Jon Gruden after he resigned earlier this week following the release of dozens of offensive e-mails.
Sitting with a 3-2 record, the Broncos really need a win, especially with a short week and a trip to Cleveland for a Thursday night game up next.

What a difference one game can make.
A week ago this time the Denver Broncos were flying high, sitting at 3-0 and one of just five undefeated teams in the NFL. After a tough 23-7 loss to the Baltimore Ravens, Denver is now 3-1 and desperate to get back on track in Pittsburgh on Sunday.
In the latest edition of his podcast "Klis' Mike Drop," our 9NEWS Broncos insider Mike Klis briefly looks back at the defeat to Baltimore, but also has some late news on Denver's injury front. It includes a disappointing update on Courtland Sutton, but a much better outlook for Teddy Bridgewater, Dalton Risner and Graham Glasgow.
Mike then sits down with Broncos inside linebacker Justin Strnad, who has been thrust into a huge role after the injury to Josey Jewell. Strnad missed all of 2020 after suffering a wrist injury and will now take Jewell's spot the rest of 2021.
Finally, Mike takes a look at the Broncos Week 5 matchup against the Steelers and QB Ben Roethlisberger, who might be on his last legs in the NFL. The Denver defense has a big opportunity against a struggling Pittsburgh offense to get the Broncos to 4-1.

There's been a lot of chatter this week about what the Ravens did on the final play of the game against the Broncos.
Rather than take a knee, Baltimore ran the football with the game in hand up 23-7 (and just three second left on the clock) to extend its 100-yard rushing streak to 43 consecutive games and tie an NFL record.
In the latest edition of his podcast "Klis' Mike Drop," our 9NEWS Broncos insider Mike Klis talks with two Steelers legends who the current Ravens are now tied with for the mark. Franco Harris and Rocky Bleier joined Mike and were unaware they even held the previous record.
“I wish I would have known that we held that record,’’ former Steelers’ running back Bleier said in a Zoom interview Wednesday with 9NEWS and his longtime friend and fellow Steelers’ ball-carrier Harris. “The first time I heard about it was when I got this text message."
Led by the fullback Harris and halfback Bleier, the Pittsburgh Steelers had run off 43 consecutive games of at least 100 yards starting from Game 13 of a 14-game schedule in 1974 until game 13 of the 1977 season. The Ravens matched that this past weekend in controversial fashion, so it was fun to hear from Harris and Bleier.

The Denver Broncos are off to a 3-0 start and all three victories have come in decisive fashion, including a Week 3 rout of the New York Jets, 26-0.
In the latest edition of his podcast "Klis' Mike Drop," our 9NEWS Broncos insider Mike Klis recaps the victory, including the first shutout for the Broncos defense since a 16-0 win over the Tennessee Titans in the 2019 season.
Mike then sits down with Broncos center Lloyd Cushenberry III, who played every snap in his rookie season and has continued the snap streak so far to start 2021.
Finally, Mike takes a look at Denver's Week 4 matchup against the Ravens. It shapes up to be the Broncos' first real test of the season and Empower Field at Mile High should be rocking on Sunday, with perfect fall weather also in the forecast.

One week, one win.
The Denver Broncos started the 2021 season with an impressive 27-13 win over the New York Giants in a game that wasn't as close as the final score.
In the latest edition of his podcast "Klis' Mike Drop," our 9NEWS Broncos insider Mike Klis recaps the Week 1 victory, including the excellent debut of QB Teddy Bridgewater.
But not everything was perfect, as the Broncos suffered several key injuries. Cornerback Ronald Darby and wide receiver Jerry Jeudy landed on IR and offensive lineman Graham Glasgow ended up in the hospital with an irregular heartbeat. Darby and Jeudy will miss at least three weeks, while Glasgow is doubtful for Sunday.
Mike then sits down with Broncos tight end Eric Saubert, who is No. 3 on the depth chart at the position, but still plays a key role on the team.
Finally, Mike takes a look at Denver's Week 2 matchup in Jacksonville. It's a game the Broncos should win, but Mike says beware, this one could be closer than many fans anticipate.

Week 1 of the 2021 NFL season starts on Thursday night as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will host the Dallas Cowboys, and then the rest of the NFL gets going on Sunday and Monday.
For the Denver Broncos that means a trip to New York to battle the Giants, in a very winnable game. In fact, it's one of three games to start Denver's season they could win. After that it's a trip to Jacksonville to battle the Jaguars then a home game against the hapless Jets.
In the latest edition of his podcast "Klis' Mike Drop," our 9NEWS Broncos insider Mike Klis previews the game in New York on Sunday and also goes 1-on-1 with Denver QB Teddy Bridgewater, who won the job after a training camp and preseason battle with Drew Lock.

What a weekend.
The Denver Broncos had three former players inducted into the Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio. Peyton Manning, Steve Atwater and John Lynch all received their gold jackets and were enshrined forever in football's most sacred place.
9NEWS Broncos insider Mike Klis tagged along for the ride and was able to chat with all three men. In this week's "Klis' Mike Drop" podcast, Mike recaps the festivities, has interviews with all three and re-lives their fantastic speeches.
Mike also provides an update on how the current Broncos will handle the QB situation this week in their first preseason game against the Vikings and moving forward before naming a starter between Drew Lock and Teddy Bridgewater.
