We cover a lot of ground- from clutter, clothing and identity to one of the best doing laundry with kids tips I've ever heard!
We discussed our experiences with decluttering and the positive impact it has had on our lives. The struggles with letting go of clothes that no longer fit current lifestyles or body size, and the emotional attachment to clothes from different seasons of life. Shannon also shared her personal experiences with depression, and how decluttering helped her cope during a very difficult season. We also chatted about the importance of maintaining a simplified and organized home environment as a form of self-care, and the potential fun and enjoyment that can come from decluttering and organizing.

Stephanie, a mother of five, shared her approach to assigning roles to her kids that incorporate fun tasks and responsibilities. They also talked about the importance of starting early to instill good habits in children and the benefits of using a daily checklist to help children take responsibility for routine tasks around the house. Stephanie emphasized that the key to success is to find a system that works for each family and to stick with it, even if it means adapting it over time to suit the needs and interests of each kid. Hi friends! Quick bonus episode here on Gratitude Tidying and Cleaning- because I've been noticing how much it's been shifting my routine for the better.
I definitely want to ackowledge that cleaning and tidying is a lot of work- there is no pressure in this episode to be grateful for that all the time- I GET how challenging it is.

If you run late and you feel consistently bad about yourself for it, this is the episode for you. Whether if you have ADHD or not, it can be a REAL challenge to be on time, which- let's face it- is an issue in our society where punctuality is highly prized.
Being on time is important, absolutely, but here are two ways to navigate it with less stress on yourself (and others). After I shared my stressful running late story yesterday on Instagram I had so many messages resonating with this so I thought- why not talk about it more??

We've been told a messy house contributes to feelings of overwhelm and stress, but have we also been told we're still a good person even when our home is messy? And that it's UNDERSTANDABLE when our home is messy?
Well I'm here today to tell you you are a good person, and it IS understandable. Saying home mess causes overwhelm is only half the story- the other half is the validation that it's ok it happened and there's nothing wrong with you that it happened- and from THAT place we get the home clean. Not before. That's kind organzing and kind cleaning- not 'should' or shame based cleaning.
In this episode I discuss two options- either (2) embracing the messy season or (b) cleaning up but from a place of kindness for self.

I've been thinking about home organization, clutter, cleaning and mental health lately. There's this idea that if things aren't done one is being "lazy" or just needs to work harder, build better habits, etc. But if you have ADHD it isn't that simple. My goal with this episode is to offer some understanding of how ADHD plays out in caring for our homes, and some of the challenges there- both so we can better understand ourselves, and eachother.

From playful and respectful ways to create routines with kids, to Gila's 'strategic sequencing' in her routines now as an adult- this talk was a gold mine.
