In this episode of our basketball podcast,we dive into the slow demise of high school basketball in Kenya and explore the reasons behind the decline. From poaching of players to the increase of foreign players overshadowing the next upcoming Kenya Talent and introduction of highschools to the County Leagues we examine the various factors contributing to this trend and offer our thoughts on how the sport can be revitalized at the grassroots level.
Later in the episode, we turn our attention to the 3x3 National Trials and ask whether they are simply a formality or if they actually play a crucial role in shaping the future of Kenyan basketball. We examine the strengths and weaknesses of the current crop of players , the selection process and discuss what improvements need to be made to take the national team to the next level.
And finally we touch on the Kenya Basketball League playoffs, discussing the standout performances and key takeaways from each game. We also make our predictions for round two and discuss which teams have the best chance of advancing to the finals.
